Basketball Saturated Canary

I decided to colour another Saturated Canary image, I've become hooked on them, I knew I would! This one is for a boy and reminds me so much of when our sons were young and forever playing ball games. My card blank is a large square by Craft UK. I coloured him with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. While it was still in the die I used Distress Ink in Stormy Sky to colour the inside edge. I used backing paper that I've had for ages and it was from one of the shopping channels - I think QVC. The navy blue card used for the mat is from Papermill. I ripped two pieces of the navy card and added a length of Creative Expressions' baker's twine to each one before adding to the background. The LOTV sentiment is top left and that also had the edges smudged with Distress Ink. Three pieces of Card Candi finish off the design.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Creative Craft Challenges - Red, White and Blue
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge - Anything Goes
Lexi's Creations - For the Boy/Man in our Lives
Love to Create Challenge - Add a Sentiment
The Crazy Challenge - Childhood Memories - mine are memories of my sons playing ball games in their childhood! Does that count?

I've noticed that I've lost some of my followers - I'm so sorry if you were one of them and decided to forget me! I do try to keep up with you all but I know that I fail miserably. I don't seem to have enough hours in the day to catch up.  Thank you to all my faithful followers who come to visit whether I can visit them or not. I do appreciate each and every one, thank you.

Eric's birthday card

This is the card I made for Eric's birthday. On the insert, generated on the computer, I typed 'I bet you're exploding with joy at the thought of another birthday. Enjoy it'. I did think about painting a beard on him but then decided I'd spoil the expression on the Bugaboo image! lol

The card blank is by Craft UK. The firework paper is from Oase, over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store, and the red card is by Papermill. The Bugaboo image was coloured with my Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders nestability, matted on to the scalloped nestie. I didn't need to add anything else to make this card eye catching. Eric loved it.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

#115 Red, white, blue

I loved making this card for the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time. I had to work with the digi papers of Oase and I chose this set from Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store. I chose the Poppy image by Stitchy to go with the papers. This image is a black silhouette and I thought it would be perfect to go with the red, white and blue papers of Oase.

The card blank is a large square from Craft UK. I cut the poppy image with a Spellbinders rectangle nestie and then matted it on to the scalloped nestie. I used Oase's blue paper to cut the scalloped nestie. The red, white and blue burst was matted on to the red paper from the same set. They're all beautiful papers. The only embellishments needed were three square red gems in top right and bottom left corners to complete this design. The gems were from my stash and I've had them forever!

Check the One Stitch at a Time challenge blog for the prize information.

We have son and DIL coming for BBQ so it'll be later today before I get the chance to link to the challenges or comment on DT cards. I hope the weather is good!

I've made this card today with one of my new Saturated Canary digis. I've coloured her with Promarkers, cut it with a Spellbinders nestie and edged with Distress Ink. I used a Craft UK scalloped card blank and the blue and yellow card is from Papermill. The star paper is from Payper Box and is cut with a scalloped rectangle nestie. I used some Beachcomber shells in the corner and a Lili of the Valley sentiment in top right.

Bear Essentials

My card today is for the Lili's Little Fairies challenge of Bear Essentials. My card is a small square card blank by Craft UK. The orange card is by Papermill and the backing paper is from a freebie pad by Kate Knight. I coloured the LOTV image with Promarkers and cut it with my Spellbinders nestie. I left it in the die and used Distress Ink round the edge so that the white border was created. The die at the top left is a Memory Box die and the sentiment is by LOTV. It's distressed a bit too much but it still works - just! I added a button from my stash and a bow of Creative Expression's baker's twine.

I'm also entering my card in to the following challenge:
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes

Whoopsi Daisy Shape It

For this challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy I decided to make an easel card. I chose an image from sheet 339 and it's available to buy here. The easel is made from a 6 x 6 small square card blank from Craft UK. The backing papers are from Costco and they are matted on to red card from Papermill. I made a 'stop' with a strip of the navy card with a strip of red across the middle and finished it off with three pieces of Card Candi. I also used some shiney Card Candi in red for the corners. I coloured this trendy school girl with my Promarkers and edged the Spellbinders label with Distress Ink Barn Door. I used my new Spellbinders inverted scalloped die to cut a small square saying 'Hello' and this completed the design.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

#114 Anything Goes

This week the challenge at One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes. My DT buddy, Josephine, had to choose the image for us both and she chose the image Arianna by Sue.You can buy Arianna at the Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop.

I coloured Arianna with my Promarkers and then cut the image in to a rectangle, matting it on to pink card. The pink card is from Papermill and the backing paper is a from a freebie pack of Hot off the Press papers that I got in a magazine. The dusky pink paper is from my stash and I've had it so long I have no idea where it came from. I used my Spellbinders dies to cut the corners and the border. The doiley shape is cut with a Marianne Creatables die. As per usual my card blank is by Craft UK.

Our sponsor this week is our own Stitchybear.

I'm going to a big Country Fair today so I'll link to the challenges and comment on the rest of the DT cards on my return - hopefully having sold lots of cards!

Lady Jane again

Today I decided to use another digi that I've had for a while and here she is, Lady Jane from Stitchybear Digital Stamps Store.

I used a small square card blank from Craft UK. The green pearlescent card is from Payper Box and I used it as a mat for the black and white backing paper from a Paper Cellar pad. I coloured the digi with Promarkers, the jewellery was coloured with a Sakura glitter pen. I cut it with my Spellbinders circle nestie backing it with a fancy Spellbinder nestie. The doiley is one that I received in Nat's candy a few months ago. I used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and cut the leaves with dies from Marianne and Crealies.

A bird in the hand?

I decided to make another card with this lovely digi from Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop. It's a few months since I last used it so it was obviously time to colour it again. My card blank was a small square from Craft UK. I used my Promarkers and cut it with my Spellbinders circle nestie, leaving the tail intact, jutting out of the circle. It was edged with Distress Ink before being set against a white embossed panel. My new Spellbinder M-Bossabilities folder came into play and I used the foliage side of the folder. I'm really impressed with these folders, they do emboss beautifully. I matted the embossed panel on to pale blue pearlescent card from Payper Box and then matted that on to dark teal card from I know not where! It's a plain and simple card which suits me fine.

#113 Use your favourite

The theme this week, at One Stitch at a Time, is Use your Favourite.  My image is Swirly Bird and Flowers by Claire of Hope Jacaire at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop.

My favourites? The colour green, my Spellbinders nestie and my new stamp which I used as the background to the fantastic image. I thought it suited the image perfectly.

My large white card blank is by Craft UK. The green pearlescent card is by Payper Box. I used my new stamp to make the background by stamping with black Memento ink. I placed a green gem at the centre of each 'flower' and they were all from my stash. I'm sorry I forgot to make a note of the stamp's maker, oops! My digi image was coloured with Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders nestie label. I used Distress Ink round the edges. I placed the image at the bottom of the design and I think it's quirky but I like it! I hope you do too.

Flowers Galore

My card today is blue and I like it! I rarely use blue, it's not one of my favourite colours, but I do like this card. Once again I've used a large square card blank by Craft UK. The image is by Ladybug Crafts Ink and is coloured with my Promarkers before being cut with my Spellbinders square grand nesties. I edged the square with Distress Ink. It's matted on to the larger size nesties in navy and purple pearlescent card by Payper Box. The striped paper I've had in my stash for ages - I think it's a handmade paper and it's lovely. I matted that on to purple pearlescent card and finished the design off with a strip of royal blue lace from the local market.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Flowers
Do You Stack Up - Use a flower - I used a whole barrow full of them!

Beware - Man At Work

I made this card because I'm booked to have a table at a country fair in a couple of weeks so I'm stocking up with cards, hoping for some sales. The large square card blank is by Craft UK. The backing paper is from a free site (freecraftdownloads) because I was stuck for a suitable paper and a friend pointed me in the right direction. The backing paper was matted on to orange card and navy card. The orange card is from Payper Box and the navy from Papermill. The strip of sticky tape came as a freebie in a craft magazine and as it was a tape measusre it fitted this theme very well. The stamped image is from the Flippin' Men range and was stamped with Memento ink before being coloured with my Promarkers. I cut it and then matted on to the same two colours of card. I used two more of the stamps that came on the same stamp plate - the sentiment and the row of tools. I mounted the sentiment on orange card and the tools on to the navy. I set them both at a jaunty angle!

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers - For the Boys
Oh la la Creations - Make it Manly
Smudgy Antics - Anything Goes
Divas by Design - One for the Boys

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments. Over the past few days I've had some lovely comments and they have really cheered me up at a miserable time of my life. Thank you all.

Ring for Pizza

My card today sums me up without a doubt - we had pizza for dinner! It's a large square card blank from Craft UK with another sheet of that fabulous paper from the First Editions pad 'Hideaway,' matted on to turquoise pearlescent card from Payper Box, as the backing for this great digi from Bugaboo. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it with my new Spellbinders label die before using Distress Ink on the edges. I then matted it on to the larger size label in turquoise. I used a length of The Ribbon Girl's turquoise seam binding down the left side and tied it with a bow. I think I used artistic licence to slightly change the wording of the Bugaboo sentiment to print it on my computer before matting on to card and adding a small pearl.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

Kaboodle Doodles - Honouring Mothers
Lollipop Crafts - Mama Mia
Love to Create - For Mom/Special Lady

We love Pink

'We love pink' is the theme for the challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy. I've used a large scalloped card blank by Craft UK. I've used two backing papers but have no idea where the striped one came from. The dusky pink is from Costco. They were stuck together and then cut with a Spellbinders grand scalloped square nestie before matting on to pink card from Papermill. The beautiful image is from sheet 345 which has four images on it to choose from, and is available here. I coloured the image with Promarkers before cutting with a Spellbinders oval nestie. After cutting I used Distress Ink on the edges and then matted it on to the scalloped nestie. I used the same pink card to cut leaves with a Marianne die and the flourish with my Spellbinders die. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley and it was also cut with Spellbinders nesties and edged with the Distress Ink.

#112 Use a Digi/Mum's theme

I decided that I would go with red this week and really enjoyed colouring this image. It's called 'Butterflies and Flowers' by Jess over at Stitchybear's Digital Stamps. The challenge over at One Stitch at a Time is Use a digi with a Mum theme. My mother would have loved this image so it's for her, thanks Jess.

My large square card blank is by Craft UK. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it with the Spellbinders grand oval nestie, matting it on to a red scalloped nestie. The backing paper I've had for ages and have no idea where it came from, I do know it was 12x12 and that's it. I matted it on to more red card - from Papermill. The red organza ribbon is from Joanna Sheen and the little peel off butterflies were in a Secret Santa parcel I received at Christmas. They were from Lakeland.

The sponsor this week is our own Stitchybear, details of the prizes are on the challenge blog.

Geranium Stand and Holiday Story

I had this Delicious Doodles digi, available here, printed already and I decided to colour it last night. I coloured it with my Promarkers before cutting it with my Spellbinders oval nestie and matting on to a pink scalloped nestie. This morning I eventually made the card! The card blank is from Craft UK. The pink card is all available from Papermill, I used two different shades of pink. The pink patterned paper was in my 'pink' drawer and I have no idea where I got it from, sorry. I used my Martha Stewart punch on each long edge before adding to the lower part of the card. The dark pink paper is from Costco. I added a silver metallic decorative square to the top corner and two swirls were added - the top one is a Spellbinder die and the other is a Marianne die.

We were also invited by Just Keep on Creating to tell a travel story for a separate challenge entry. My husband and I went on a trip of a lifetime in 2010 to visit relatives in Darwin, Australia from our home in the UK.  We did so many exciting things whilst we were there and one of them was going on the Adelaide River Queen boat to see the jumping crocodiles. I took wonderful close up photographs of these huge creatures jumping right out of the water. The guide then told us she was going to dangle some meat from the top deck of the boat and we would see the white bellied sea eagles come swooping down for it. I positioned my camera, waited for the call, clicked....... and caught an image of the empty string dangling! Fortunately my husband's cousin got a perfect shot of the eagle and that's the one that's in our scrapbook. We flew down to visit more relatives in Perth, Manjimup and Augusta and have more photos of where the two oceans meet, the Southern Ocean and the Indian Ocean, spectacular. So many happy memories.

Chocolate, Cream and One Other

I've made this card over the past two days - I kept losing interest and was almost at the point of giving up. Anyway, I've finished it and so here it is, for all to see.

It's a large ivory square card blank by Craft UK. The dark brown pearlescent card is from Payper Box and the beige backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's 'American Frontier' CD. I used a large Spellbinders butterfly die for the main focal point and I cut it in brown and cream before layering. Some wire that I bought from Create and Craft years ago was used to make the antennae. A strip of the brown card across the bottom completed the card and then this morning it looked a bit bare so I decided to add more! My Spellbinder corner die came out and a Marianne flower die. It's the first time I've used this flower die and I've had it since it first came out! I've never really felt happy with it but it looks OK on this. Again, I cut it with brown and cream to layer. I added 'diamonds' from my stash for the body of the butterfly and the centre of the flower. That's it, it's finished this time!

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Chocolate, cream and one other
Anything Goes Challenge - Things with Wings
Crazy Amigo Challenge - Flowers
Deep Ocean Challenge - Use Punches/Dies
Flourishes - Butterflies
Oldie but a Goodie - Die cuts and punches

O for Orange

This is s small square card blank from Craft UK.The orange pearlescent card is from Payper Box and the backing paper is from the First Editions paper pad 'Hideaway'. The tulips digi is from Sweet 'n' Sassy and I coloured it with Promarkers before cutting with the Spellbinders oval nestie and then matting on the orange scalloped nestie. I used a Spellbinders die to cut four corners to complete the design. Very simple but quite attractive.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

The ABC Challenge - O is for Orange
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Joanna Sheen Challenge - Flower Power
