OSAAT Blog Hop - #144 Use a digi

The theme for this Blog Hop is' Use a digi' so I'm sure you'll all join in over at the challenge blog One Stitch at a Time. Come and join us and have some fun hopping from one blog to the next to check out all the DT cards. Comment on each card on the hop and you could win a prize from any of the blogs. The winning comment on my blog will receive the backing  papers - they are by Panda Bear over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. So even if you don't win my prize you can still buy them for yourself and at the same time check out all the other great digis on offer. We have lots of fantastic creators and their images are wonderful. I love making my cards from their images.

I coloured the Park Bench image with my Promarkers, using the metallic Promarkers for the trim on the dresses, and then framed it with a Spellbinders grand nestie. When it was still in the die I edged it with Distress Inks to give the effect of grass and sky. I used two Memory Box dies to cut the tree and the whimsy circle and I used another of Panda Bear's papers for these. The backing paper has beautiful golden circles on it with a glittering star effect so I added Cosmic Glimmer gold pearl drops to enhance some of the stars. It looks quite effective but I'm not sure that my photograph shows them off very well.

Now this is the list of my design team buddies and the order in which you should 'hop'. You can find their individual blogs if you click on their names on my sidebar  If you've started here then check the list and catch up from the beginning:-

#143 OSAAT - More than one fold

The theme this week, over at One Stitch at a Time, is 'More than one Fold'. I chose the image from Donna's (Lil Diva) Mermaid Silhouette 4 pack on sale at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop.

I'm sorry these photos aren't very good, they're quite dark.

I used a sheet of Papermill white card for this one and scored it to about A6 size when folded. I printed the image on to white paper and then printed and cut out another mermaid image to use as a mask. My Distress Inks were used for the sea and the sand that the mermaid is sitting on. A few Beachcomber shells were used on the seabed, along with some gold 'pebbles' by John Lewis. On the two flaps I used blue paper that I had in my stash. It was printed from a CD and looked like sea/sky but I can't remember which CD it came from, sorry. I made a Happy Birthday plaque which I set above and to the side of the mermaid. Another panel was cut for the sender to write on I fixed this to the front inside page. I used Distress Ink again, on the plaque  and the writing panel, after cutting them with my Spellbinder dies. I used more of the sea/sky paper on the front panels and then used some darker blue card for the opening edges using a Martha Stewart punch.

The sponsor this week is Stitchybear but please check the challenge blog for full details of prizes.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

OSAAT #142 Anything Goes

The theme for this week is 'Use a Digi - oops, no it isn't it's Anything Goes so come and join us at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog. It was my turn to choose a digi for me and my DT buddy, Josephine, so I hope she liked the image I chose. It's called Pitcher and Bowl and is by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop.

Rick St Dennis is the sponsor this week but do check the challenge blog for full details of the prizes.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The yellow card, from Papermill, was embossed with a Crafters Companion Embossalicious folder. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and after cutting it out with a Spellbinders grand nestie I used Distress Ink when it was still in the die so that it kept the white edge. This was then matted on to the yellow card. All I had to do to finish it off was to add some Spellbinder die flowers in lilac, with yellow centres. I'm sorry the photo doesn't look too good, it was a miserable day when I took it and my lights didn't help much.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

ABC Challenges - Anything Goes
Lady Anne's Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Boots Challenge - Anything Goes
My Grafico - Anything Goes

#141 OSAAT Fabric, Ribbon or Lace

This image is called Disco Dan and is by Stitchy over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. The image comes in varying shades of shirt  so I've actually printed Dan three times in varying sizes and colours so I think it's Dan and his two brothers!!

The theme over at One Stitch at a Time is Fabric, Ribbon or Lace and I'm hoping my net passes muster as fabric. I didn't have any fabric suitable as ties for Dan and his brothers so I had to make a backing instead. I used the colours to match their shirts. I then mounted the image on to black Mirri card and set it on top of the three pieces of netting - that was a major job in itself! The lilac piece went missing from my workbench when it was laid out whist I made my mind up as to whether the design would work. After taking advice from people to pray to St Anthony for guidance in finding it and not being successful I decided to wait until the next day.  (I got mixed up and prayed to St Jude so no wonder it didn't work) Anyway, when I woke the next morning I asked Eric to help me find it and he did. I washed the breakfast dishes and as I was coming out of the kitchen there it was behind the kitchen door. Gracie, our white tortoiseshell cat had obviously hooked it out of the design and carried it downstairs to play. I could get back on to the card making without any further delay! Cats!!! The small card blank is from Craft UK and the buttons are from Create and Craft. I'm not sure where I bought the netting but I've had it for years. I tied the buttons with gold twine, again I've had this for ages and it came from I know not where.

Our sponsor this week is Creative Craft World but please check the challenge blog for full details of prizes.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

#140 OSAAT - Use a Digi

The challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time is Use a Digi so come along and join us and check out the wonderful cards of all the other DT members. My DT buddy, Josephine, chose this image for us both to use and it's called Christmas Candles by Jess over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop

The sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen with a £10 voucher for her online store. Please check the OSAAT blog for details of the prize structure.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added some Stickles to certain areas to give it some bling. After colouring was complete I cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie and then edged it with Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade which, I hoped, gave it the glow of the candles. The image was then matted on to a piece of bright red, embossed card from Payper Box. It didn't need any further embellishment as this red card has a beautiful sheen to it. The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - Christmas
LEJ Designs - Seasons Greetings
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Whimsy Inspiration - Traditional Christmas Colours

Thinking of you, Eric

Today would have been our 48th wedding anniversary and I'm thinking of you with so much love. I had a lovely day out yesterday when I went Christmas shopping and then had lunch with my sister. You would have enjoyed the day so much and would have had so many suggestions for gifts for our sons and daughters in law.

I came home, had a coffee and decided to watch some mind numbing TV - nothing too serious or heavy! It didn't make any difference, I cried for hours and went to bed with red and swollen eyes.

I've woken up this morning, had a few words with you, and now I'm going to try and enjoy the day. I'm going out for lunch today with a very old friend, Daphne, so I know you'll be there with us and having a laugh.

#139 Thanks

'Thanks' is the theme for this week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time. I chose the image Flower Vista by Claire of Hope Jacare over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop.

The sponsor is Robin's Nest but please pop over the challenge blog to see details of the prizes.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and used Diamond Stickles on the centres of the flowers. I cut it by hand and set it on a cocktail pink shiny card from Payper Box. The card blank is a small square from Craft UK. To keep the design simple I typed the word Thanks in dark red, cut it with a Spellbinders small label nestie, edged it with a red Promarker and set it across a dark red organza ribbon which is from Joanna Sheen. To finish it off I added three small dark red pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts.

My team mate, Ali, chose this set of images for us to use for the One Stitch at a Time challenge with the theme of Anything Goes.

The sponsor this week is Crimson Cloud so pop over to join us. Check out the OSAAT blog for prize structure.

I used a Craft UK large scalloped card blank. The red card is from Papermill and the patterned paper is by Payper Box. I used a Spellbinders grand nestie to cut the patterned paper. There are three images in the Vintage Valentine set and I decided to use this heart image. The red heart is cut with a Memory Box die.The red organza ribbon is from Joanna Sheen and then I finished the card design off with some red Card Candi.

#137 Make one for Christmas

The theme for this week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog is Make one for Christmas so here's mine. The digi is Silver Bells by Stitchy over at the Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and I also coloured the robins and holly on the stamped background. I think I got the stamps free in a magazine and I stamped them randomly over the paper before colouring and then cutting with a grand nestie.  I matted that sheet on to red card from Papermill. The image was cut with a nestie and matted on to more red card and then a mat of silver. The card blank is a large scalloped 8x8 card by Craft UK. I typed Silver Bells in red and then cut with the small nestie before matting on to silver card. I love this Spellbinders label shape and I have them in every size. Check the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes.

It's only the second Christmas card I've made this year. I'm not making my Christmas cards this year due to Eric's illness and subsequent death. He was always at hand to advise me and make suggestions about which design I should use for our cards each year. This year I'm going to give it a miss because I don't feel like making them without him.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

#136 Use a Digi

The theme for this week's One Stitch at a Time challenge is 'Use a Digi' - come along and join us. It was my turn to choose an image for my two team buddies, Ali and Josephine, to use so I hope they like the one I chose. It's called Lady Bug by Stitchy over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. I coloured it with Promarkers and after cutting it out and rounding the corners I coloured the edges with Distress Ink. I embossed a sheet of white paper with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and matted it on to a piece of Papermill's orange pearlescent card. The only embellishment is a Create and Craft wooden flower which I'd coloured with my Promarker before adding a yellow flower gem from my stash. The small card blank is by Craft UK.

The sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen but please check out the OSAAT blog for full details of prizes.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
Cards Galore - Anything Goes
The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
One Stop Crafts - Anything Goes

I have to say that the challenges for this week are a little thin on the ground for 'normal' cards. They all seem to be Halloween,Spooky or Christmas challenges!! I hope this little card cheers everyone up.

I'm only making cards for the OSAAT design team at the minute. I'm still not crafting as I normally would - I don't like to be upstairs in my craft room with no-one downstairs. I'm spending a little time in the afternoon in my room but I don't get much done. Thanks again for all your best wishes and lovely comments. The support I've had over the past few weeks has been fantastic.

#135 Music or a Song

The challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time is Music or a Song so I chose this image by Stitchy. She's in a set of images called The Rehearsal by Stitchy over at the Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop. I've called my card 'I could have danced all night' from the film My Fair Lady.

I've used a large scalloped card blank by Craft UK. The black card is from Papermill. I used a Spellbinders m-bossibilities folder for the embossed background. The image is cut with a grand nestie and then matted on to the scalloped grand nestie - all Spellbinders of course! The 'music' dies are by Memory Box. I've kept the card all black and white for maximum impact.

The sponsor for this week is Creative Craft World but please check the challenge blog for full details of prizes.

Whoopsi Daisy Flowers Galore

Flowers Galore - that's the theme for this week's challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy. HOWEVER, if you use a Whoopsi Daisy image it's always Anything Goes. Please come and join us. The image is from sheet 346 and is available here.

I used a small card blank from Craft UK. I've coloured the image with Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders nestie. I matted it on to a scalloped nestie in orange pearlescent card from Papermill. The flowery backing paper is from a Papermania pad of 100 papers that I've had for years. I matted that on to plain orange card. The small roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the beautiful flowers with the pearl centres are from my friend Nataliya . The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley - maybe I should have reduced it in size? Too late now, it's well and truly stuck down. I smudged the edges with two shades of Distress Ink.

With the help of all my friends, relatives, crafting and blogging buddies I'm feeling as if I'm slowly making my way forward. I've had hundreds of emails and messages of support and I'm counting my blessings as I know this is what Eric would have wanted. Thank you all.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

#134 Boo!

The theme for this week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time is BOO!

The image is Pumpkin Head by Stitchy at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut with a wonky square Spellbinders nestability. I used a small card blank by Craft UK. The spiders are part of a spider's web stamp that I bought at Bluewater earlier this year and it's the first time I've used it, sorry don't know the maker. I used Black Soot Distress Ink round the edges of the white stamped paper before matting on to orange pearlescent card from Papermill. I also used Distress Ink round the wonky square. I typed 'Boo' on the computer and cut it out in a speech bubble shape before distressing the edge.

The sponsor this week is Crimson Cloud but remember to check out the blog for the prize details.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

#133 Butterfly or Buttons

This week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time is Butterfly or Buttons. My image is Fairy Fae by Teri of Delicious Doodles over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. Fae is beautiful and was a joy to colour. I used my Promarkers of course! The card blank is a large square by Craft UK. After colouring the image I cut it out with my x cutter and matted it on to pink card. All the pink card is from Papermill, two different shades of pink to match the roses on the beautiful paper which is in a pad from Create and Craft. The pad is actually by Arts and Crafts Direct and is called Quintessential Country Garden. I've had it for a while but it's the first time I've used it. They are A4 sheets and it's a shame to cut it down to fit a card. The butterflies are cut with my Spellbinders dies. The pearls for the bodies of the butterflies are by Wild Orchid Crafts and the wire for the antennae is by Create and Craft. I blinged her wings with Stickles.

The prize structure is listed on the challenge blog, please check there for details.

Whoopsi Daisy Things with Wings

Here is my card for the Things with Wings challenge at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge Blog. I've used the beautiful little image from sheet 355 which is available to buy here.

I coloured her with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens and then cut round the image leaving a small white border. I blinged her wings with two colours of Stickles. She was then matted on to a Spellbinders Parisian Motif. The backing paper is printed from a CD and was in my stash. The card blank is from Craft UK. The pink card is from Papermill and the silver card was a freebie in a magazine. The bright pink butterflies are from the stash that I bought when we visited Australia a couple of years ago. It had been Eric's ambition to visit his relatives in Darwin, Perth, Mandurah and Manjimup and we managed to do that two years ago so I have lovely memories of that holiday.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

#132 Bingo

The theme at One Stitch at a Time this week is Bingo and I've chosen the line Ribbon, Digi, Die Cut. The image I used was chosen for me by Ali, a team mate on OSAAT, and it's called Flight of Fancy. The designer is Jess and the digi can be bought from Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop.

The card blank is a large square by Craft UK. The backing paper is from Create and Craft I think - I've had it for so long I've forgotten - the red card is from Papermill. The image didn't really need much to enhance it. It was matted on to red card and then the addition of a red organza ribbon from Create and Craft and a black scroll cut with a Marianne die completed the design.

The sponsor for this challenge will be announced later but please check the OSAAT challenge blog for full details of the prizes.

Buttons or Bows

The theme for the challenge at Whoopsi Daisy this week is Buttons or Bows and I think you can tell which I chose. I'm slowly getting back in to crafting and I can't say that this is one of my better cards, sorry! It's a small Craft UK card blank and the red backing paper is from a QVC scrapbook set that I've had for ages. I matted that on to a sheet of yellow paper from Papermill. The image, from sheet 356 and available here, was coloured with my Promarkers. After cutting by hand (!!) I rounded the corners with my Carl punch and coloured the edges with Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade. The five tiny organza bows are from Create and Craft I think. The three red pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Come along and join in and you could win some of Linnie's lovely digis.

Thanks again for all the lovely messages you left for me.I thought I was doing so well but I've had an awful week and have been absolutely distraught. My apologies if I can't get round to comment on all your beautiful cards.

#130 Under 18s theme

I'm trying so hard to get back into the swing of things so here is my first card for quite a number of weeks. The other cards that have been posted have all been scheduled for quite a while. The theme for this One Stitch at a Time challenge is Under 18s theme and I have the image of Fae1 by Pookie over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. I'm not sure that I've met this challenge theme myself but my brain is taking time to recover!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Craft World - check out the challenge blog for the prize structure.

I used a large scalloped card blank by Craft UK. The patterned paper is by Dovecraft. I used my Spellbinders nesties to cut out the image and the green pearlescent card. The doily is cut with a Cheery Lynn die. The green paper and pearlescent card are from Papermill. I used silver paper, from a Secret Santa gift, as a background to the green shapes and that was also cut with a nestie. The green flowers I've had for ages, from Create and Craft I think, and the pearl centres are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I coloured Fae with Promarkers and glittered the wings with two shades of Stickles. They look really pretty.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
The Corrosive Challenge - Myth or Magic
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Anything with Wings
Emerald Faeries - Use a Doily
Deep Ocean Challenge - Things with Wings
Oldie but a Goodie - 1 image, two papers, 3 flowers - the flowers I have had for YEARS!

#127 Back to School

This week the challenge at One Stitch at a Time is Back to School. I had Barb's image of 'Yo' to work with and it's available at Stitchybear's Digital Stamp Shop.

It's the first time I've made an A5 card for ages but by the time I'd cut the image with a Spellbinders rectangle nestie I felt this size card would suit. The pale blue and the navy blue card are both from Papermill. The spotted paper is from a Papermania pack. I coloured the image with Promarkers and then matted it on to the scalloped nestie. The buttons are from Create and Craft and the baker's twine is from Creative Expressions. I typed some 'sums', cut them, edged them with a blue marker and that was it.

The sponsor is Joanna Sheen - check out the challenge blog for the prize structure.

I'm entering the card in to the following challenges~:

Very sad news

I'm very sad to say that my husband, Eric, died yesterday afternoon after a very short illness. He was at home and our two sons and daughters in law were with us. It was a great shock that he went so quickly but he knew we were all there. Thank you all for your best wishes over the past few weeks, they were very much appreciated. Eric enjoyed hearing all about you and enjoyed the 'blog' life through me.

I'm sure when I feel able to join in again that you'll keep me uplifted. Thank you again.

#126 Anything Goes

The theme at One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes so come along and join, you'll enjoy it. Josephine had the task of choosing an image for the two of us to use and she chose this wonderful image, Woodland Scene, by Donna (Lil Diva) of Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop.

I framed the image with silver card and set it an angle on a mat of black and silver card. The black card is from Papermill and the silver card was in a Secret Santa gift so I have no idea of the maker. The silver leaves are all from Spellbinders and Marianne dies. #125 White plus 1 other

Here is the beautiful image 'Hope' by Jess at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. The theme at the One Stitch at a Time Challenge Blog is 'White plus 1 other' (plus skin and hair if necessary). Obviously because of this image I used pink as my one other.

I used a card blank by Craft UK and pink card by Papermill. The embossing folder used on the white paper is a Spellbinders M-bossability. I coloured the image with my pink Promarker  before cutting with a Spellbinders oval nestie. The pink gem butterfly, pink ribbons and clear gems are all by 'Touched by a Butterfly'.

The sponsor this week is            but please check out the prizes on OSAAT challenge blog.

Whoopsi Daisy Lots of Layers

Thank you all for your kind wishes, my husband is home from hospital and is glad to be back in charge of the TV remote controls. He missed them when he was in hospital and didn't like their little screen!

Anyway, here is the first card I've made for a couple of weeks and it's for Whoopsi Daisy's Challenge of Lots of Layers. I used Sheet 346 for this image. She's a little cutie and you can buy her here.

I used a large scalloped card blank by Craft UK. The pink card is from Papermill and the turquoise pearlescent is from Payper Box. I rounded the corners on the pink card with my Carl corner rounder and the turquoise card was cut with a Spellbinders grand scalloped square nestie. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and after cutting with another Spellbinders nestie I coloured the edges with 'Peacock Feathers' Distress Ink. I set it against another two die cuts in pink and turquoise, the pink paper was a freebie in a magazine and the other was from Costco. The beautiful flowers are from Nataliya's Etsy shop and the ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop. Some Card Candi completed the design. I'm sorry that I'm not completely satisfied with this card but at least it's got me back into crafting.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Card Makin Mamas - 1, 2 , 3 - 1 image check, 2 papers check and 3 embellishments - flowers, bow and Card Candi.
Crafts and Me - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Jackson's Digital Expressions - Anything Goes

#124 Use a Digi

The challenge over at One Stitch at a Time is a nice easy one - Use a Digi. It was my time to choose an image for my teammate Josephine and myself. I chose Blue Tit on Rowan by Ike over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop.

My card blank is by Craft UK. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it with my Spellbinders square nestie before using Distress Ink on the edges. The backing paper is stamped with freebie stamps that I got in a magazine a few months ago. I used Memento Ink in Cocoa and stamped them randomly over the paper before matting the paper on to greeny/gold card from Papermill. The green ribbon is from my Australian stash.

Our sponsor this week is Stitchybear! Check the challenge blog for details of the prize.
