OSAAT #152 - Use a Digi

A nice easy challenge for you this week - Use a Digi. Come along and join us at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog. The winner will be awarded all the digi images used by the DT in challenge 150, wow!!

My image this week is by Luke, over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. It's called Adventure Boy, Floating and isn't he cute?

I used a small Craft UK card as the base. I coloured the image with Promarkers, cut it with a Spellbinders die and used Distress Ink on the edges before adding it to a backing paper of sky, printed from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD. This was matted on to yellow, orange and red card from Papermill - the mats matched the colours of the balloons which I'd cut with a Provo Craft die. The strings of the balloons were drawn in red  Sakura pen, I'm not sure it was a good idea but it's done now so can't be undone!! I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with another Spellbinders die, backing it with a red scalloped die cut. I like this card, even though I've just realised that I haven't highlighted the die cut balloons to give them some 'roundness'. Flip!

I'm entering the card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #151 - Girly

One Stitch at a Time challenge blog has set the challenge as Girly. My image is from Donna (L'il Diva) at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop and is called Sid's House. Now I had to make this look girly so I did it in pink. Fortunately I remembered Sid was a male and didn't colour him pink!

I used a Joanna Sheen card blank and coloured the edges with a Spun Sugar Distress Ink. I didn't want to use a backing paper because I wanted Donna's image to stand out because of it being such a cute little scene. The image was coloured with my trusty Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders nestie. It was matted on to the larger size nestie in Papermill pink card. I had been eager to use my new dies and I got the chance here. I used Memory Box Fresh Foliage and the beautiful Flowering Vine.To cut these I used a slightly pinky/lilac Papermill card to match the roof of Sid's house.

Check out the challenge blog for prize details.

My Blogoversary and Update

It's my second blogoversary tomorrow but I'm afraid I'm not posting any candy. I'm not 100% in to my blog or crafting since Eric's death so I want to wait until I feel happier. He enjoyed helping me provide items last year and his input always spurred me on. I'll probably wait until later in the year to see how I feel. Thank you all for supporting me over the past six months

I thought I'd also let you know what I'm going to be doing next! So many of you are kind enough to add comments to a card and asking if I'm doing OK. I thought this was an easier way of letting everyone know at once rather than me trying to add a reply to each one of you individually.

I'm rattling around in a large four bedroomed house so I've put it up for sale. My son and daughter in law are selling their house and we're buying another place together. We'll have separate living accommodation but they'll be at hand to help me if I need any help in the future. We're busy viewing properties and making a note of those that are suitable so that when my house sale goes through we can make the move.

I know that we would never have moved from this house if Eric had been alive but I also know that he would approve of our decision. Keep me in your thoughts and send me some positive vibes so that my house might sell sooner rather than later. This bad weather is not helping.

Thank you all, once again, for your kind support.

Love to you all

OSAAT #150 - Anything Goes

Anything Goes is the challenge this week over at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog so come along and join us.

I was given the Serenity pack of papers by Oase, Panda Bear Designs, at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop for this week's card. A beautiful pack of papers and I was spoilt for choice. I eventually settled on the Tranquil paper and I didn't need to add much in the way of embellishments because the paper works alone. I printed it to fit an 8x8 card with a panel at the side for border and ribbon. After the sheet was printed I matted it on to gold Mirri card and set it to the right hand side of the Craft UK card blank. I had printed two sheets off and on one sheet I cut out the flowers in top left and bottom right corners and then decoupaged them to give depth to the design. In the panel to the left I added a gold Spellbinders border die - I think it's from the Parisian motifs set. A cream satin ribbon from my Australian stash also went into the panel and then all I had to add were some pearls, from Wild Orchid Crafts, to the top right and bottom left of the Tranquil paper.

Our own Stitchybear is the sponsor this week but check out the challenge blog for full details.

OSAAT #149 - Not Square

'Not Square' is the theme for the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog. Please come and join us..

My image is Parrot by Barbara over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop. I coloured her with my Promarkers and yes, she is a she! We usually get a calendar from Eric's cousin, who lives in Australia. Last year she bought us one of Australian birds and apologised because she knows I'm frightened of birds! I do love to feed them and watch them through the window but I'm terrified if they fly near me. Anyway, I couldn't bear to throw it away on New Year's Day because Eric loved it. When I printed off Barb's digi Parrot I immediately went to the calendar to check for colours. I've coloured her as a female Eclectus parrot - the male is mainly green.

After colouring her I cut with my Spellbinders grand oval nestie and used Distress Ink on the edges before matting on to a larger oval in red card. That was then matted on to the Craft UK card base which I'd made into a large scalloped oval with another Spellbinders grand nestie. To make the scalloped card stand out I photographed it against bright yellow paper - I'm not sure that was a good idea!!

Please check the challenge blog for full details of the prizes on offer.
