This is the 5th birthday of Moving Along with the Times so we have both teams covering this theme. You can use any of the following: buttons, bunting or birthday. I used all three! Come along and join us - there are lots of prizes on offer and you know that you've got to be in it to win it.

Blog Hop Rules.

To be eligible for the Prizes you must visit all the blogs and collect a letter from each.  Then email Hazel at didosdesigns@yahoo.com with the word you have made with Blog Hop Word in the Subject Line.  You must send the word to us to be in with a chance of winning!!!!
Each DT Member will announce their winner on their own blog from the comments. This is my prize which will be awarded to one of the commenters on my blog - IF they have collected all the letters and emailed Hazel (Didos) with the answer to the query.

I've used the beautiful image by Aurora Wings and it's called 'Stars'. I coloured her with my Promarkers and a Sakura gelly roll pen to add some glitz to the stars. The turquoise card is by Papermill and the card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I embossed a sheet of white paper with the Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of buttons before matting on to the turquoise card. The bunting die and organza ribbon are also by Joanna Sheen. The sentiment was generated on the computer before being backed by the turquoise card and raised to give a bit of dimension.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Fitztown - Shaped Card

I don't very often make shaped cards but I decided to throw caution to the wind this week and join in with this Fitztown Shaped Cards challenge. I chose Floral 3 to be my image, available from the Fitztown store.

I coloured the pansies with my Promarkers and added some Stickles to the centre of the large flower. The shape of the image decided my card shape and so I used my grand Spellbinders classic oval to cut it out. I used Distress Ink on the edges and then decided to mat it on to the grand scalloped oval which I cut using an A3 sheet of off white textured card from Papermill.  I added Wild Orchid Craft pearls, in two different shades of purple, to the scallops. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and after fussy cutting and edging with Distress Ink I raised it on foam pads for some dimension.

Please check the Fitztown challenge blog for details of prizes.

MAWTT - I do like to be beside the seaside

Our hostess this week is Claire and she chose 'I do like to be beside the seaside' as the theme for this week's challenge over at Moving Along with the Times.

I used the image from Joanna' Sheen's 'Faye Whittaker collection' cd as I knew there were lots of lovely images of the seaside on it. This reminds me of when I was small standing at the edge of the sea and getting lost in dreams. It could have been me except I would have had very dark curly hair and probably a pink dress!

I used a Craft UK scalloped card blank. The pale blue card is from Papermill and the backing paper is also from the cd. I used my Spellbinder dies as you can see - I'd be lost without them. After cutting the image from the sheet I used my Carl corner rounder on the corners. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and is heat embossed with Sparkle and Sprinkle's Blueberry embossing powder. Some tiny shells from Beachcomber are the only embellishments.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar Challenge - Summer
Crafty Catz Challenge - Use 2 different dies
QKR Stampede Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Catch the Bug Challenge - Summertime
The Doodle Garden Challenge - Summer Lovin'

I'm having a good day

Today I'm having a good day, no problem with my eyes so I've made a card. I decided I wanted to colour a Delicious Doodles image so I chose Blossom.
Yes, I do know that what I've coloured as leaves are actually the petals of the blossom but I'd already coloured one image correctly and decided to make a change with this one. I'd seen another card with them coloured as leaves so decided to give it a go myself and I like it, so there! lol (Secretly I do prefer them as petals but whoever I send this to will never notice, will they?)

I used a Joanna Sheen large card blank and the backing paper I'm sure hundreds of you will recognise - it's from Create and Craft YEARS ago and I've rarely used it. I matted it on to Papermill red card as the base for my image. I coloured Blossom with my Promarkers and the butterfly in a Sakura gelly roll pen so give it a glitter. I also matted the image on to red card. I then used my new Nellie Snellen diamond dies to cut some diamonds as embellishments and then added some Wild Orchid Crafts pearls. Job done and my eyes are still holding out, hurray!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles Challenge - Favourite DD image (not sure that's strictly true but Blossom is up there)
Card Mania - Flowers
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Dragonfly Challenge - Anything With Wings
The Sisters of Craft - Anything Goes

Thank you all for visiting and welcome to my new followers.

MAWTT - Father's Day

This week the theme over at Moving Along with the Times is Father's Day.

This was a difficult one for me as I haven't had my father for almost 45 years and my father in law for twenty five years. My husband is dead and my two sons are, unfortunately, not fathers. I decided to make a Peter Rabbit card and give it to a friend's young sons to give to their father. The first version was rubbish and I threw it out. I decided to keep this one simple because my brain couldn't cope with anything more complicated. lol

It's a small Craft UK card blank and the navy blue card is from Papermill. The backing paper and image are both from a Crafter's Companion CD. The button is from The Works and the sentiment was generated on the computer. I can't say I enjoyed making this card and I can't say that I like it. :(

Fitztown - Googly Eyes

The theme this week at Fitztown Challenge Blog is Googly Eyes. I chose the image Cutie 2 for my card and that image is available here.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen and is an 8x8 square. The red card is from Papermill and the backing paper is from a freebie pad from Docrafts. After matting the backing paper on to the red card I added a black organza ribbon down the left side, topped with a narrow red organza ribbon and with a mustard coloured one alongside. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and I made her a tortoiseshell because I have a black tortie and a white tortie so needed to get them in on the act. After colouring her I cut with a Spellbinders die and then edged that with a Distress Ink in the Barn Door colour. I generated a sentiment on the computer and cut that with the smaller size Spellbinders die from the same set and again smudged the edge with the Distress Ink. I only had to add a black bow and pieces of Card Candi to the red ribbon and the mustard ribbon to finish off the design. This is a card that I enjoyed making and I know exactly who the recipient will be.

Check out the challenge blog for details of prizes.
