Fitztown - Winter Theme

This time the Fitztown Challenge is a Winter Theme so come along and join us. My image is Cat 2 available in the Fitztown Store.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I coloured her (did you know that all cats are female and all dogs are male? Well, that's what my brain keeps telling me, lol) with my Promarkers and then fussy cut her. I used my prize winning items for most of the rest of the card. I won a range of blue items and this paper looks just like a rug so my cat is lying asleep on her rug, in front of the roaring fire. I added a blue pinwheel and a navy blue bow - two more blue items. The whole set is by Docraft's Papermania range. I generated the sentiment on the computer and matted it on to dark brown pearlescent card from Papermill. A relatively simple card but I like it.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Inspiration Destination 11

Once again we have two sponsors My Whimsical Little World and Crafty Sentiments over at Inspiration Destination for our challenge number 11.

My first card is showing the cat image by MWLW.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and after cutting with a Spellbinders wonky square die I edged it with Distress Ink in Barn Door. The card blank is a small square by Craft UK and I made the background by stamping a Sarah Beise cat stamp in black Memento ink. I coloured the collars on all the cats but only coloured in two of them fully. The cat image was raised on foam pads and the only embellishment was s small Meow button that I bought from Create and Craft. A very simple card but quite cute.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Animal Friends Challenge - Must have an animal
Cards Galore Encore Challenge - Anything Goes
The Sisters of Craft December Challenge - Anything Goes
The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge - Anything Goes

This is my card using the image Hootie, Rain, Rain Go Away by Crafty Sentiments.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and used Inkssentials Glossy Accents on the raindrops. The pink card is from Papermill and the card blank is by Craft UK. I cut the image into a rectangle and used Distress Ink Stormy Sky on the edges. I set the image to the left. A Memory Box Bella Bouquet die was used to cut the flowers in white and then I coloured them with Promarkers too. The plantpot die was a prize I won a few weeks ago and I'm sorry but I have forgotten completely the name of the company, my apologies,  The little wooden snail I bought from Create and Craft and the sentiment was generated on the computer. After it was all finished I used Crafter's Companion Iridescent Spray and Sparkle on it but, unfortunately, it has shown up glue marks where the flower diecut  was stuck. It's not so noticeable on the card itself. Bother.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Craft Creations Challenge - Anything Goes
Not Just Cards Challenge - Anything Goes
Squigglefly Challenge - Emboss or Die Cut
Through the Purple Haze - Use a Sentiment

Fitztown - Christmas Theme

The challenge at Fitztown this week is Christmas Theme and I used the very cute image of Stardust and Pumpkin 7 from the Fitztown Store. I coloured her in with my Promarkers, adding some glitz to her wings with Sakura gelly roll pens, and then cut with the Spellbinders grand nestie oval.

The green glitter paper with sticky back is from the Bluewater Craft Fair of a couple of years ago. I used that as the mat on my 8x8 card by Joanna Sheen. I used a Sue Wilson striplet die for the red die cut and added a large pearl to the centre. The red card is from Papermill. I generated the sentiment on the computer, backing it with more red card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Digistamps4joy Challenge - Christmas

Moving Along with the Times - Christmas Climate

This week at Moving Along with the Times it's Red's turn to choose the theme and it's 'Christmas Climate'.

My card is made using a freebie stamp that I received in a magazine a long time ago. I've used a small Craft UK card blank and three varying shades of silver paper and card as the background. The embossed card is embossed using Provocraft folders. The base paper was given in a Secret Santa gift a couple of years ago and it's the first time I've used it. The image was coloured with my Promarkers, then I hand cut the oval and edged with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. The sentiment is from one of Joanna Sheen's stamp plates. I stamped and embossed it with silver powder, trimmed it and rounded the corners before edging with Distress Ink. The organza ribbon is also from JS.

Inspiration Challenge 10

Here are my cards for the challenge number 10 at Inspiration Destination. The theme is Anything Goes and our sponsors this week are Dr Digi and Bugaboo.

My first card shows Metal Mick by Dr Digi.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The red card is by Papermill and has a Payperbox music patterned paper matted on to it as the background to Metal Mick. He was coloured with my Promarkers and had some Stickles added to his red guitar. A Memory Box treble clef die is used top right. I used a Joanna Sheen Signature die bunting in the top left. However, I didn't leave it as bunting I cut four small rectangles in Papermill red card and then added the letters of the recipient's name in gold brads - I bought these from Create and Craft at least ten years ago!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
A Creative Romance Challenge - Something Old
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes

My second card shows Stella Fitness Level from Bugaboo.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then after cutting it into a rectangle I matted it on to lime green and dark green card to match her sweat suit. lol I used the Couture Creations embossing folder called 'Tied Together' to emboss a sheet of white paper which I then matted on to the green card as before. The large card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I raised the matted image on foam pads and then added Mei Flower pearls to the background. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and I heat embossed it before adding to the top right. Mei Flower gems were then added to the top left of the image and one was added to the sentiment.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Digitally Sweet Challenge - Anything Goes
TIME OUT Challenge - Embossing with optional twist of sparkle

Inspiration Destination Challenge 9

This week we have the sponsor, Sweet 7, for our challenge over at Inspiration Destination. Come and join us, remember we are always Anything Goes with a digital element.

My image is Sunflowers in Vase and can be bought here:       http://sweet7digitals.bigcartel.com/product/sunflowers-in-vase

I decided to make a DL card to follow the elongated shape of the vase and it turned out to be a very simple card. This is one of those cards when I'm thinking maybe I should have done something else with it, it's not one of my favourites.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it with a Spellbinders label die before adding some Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer dots to the corners - in bronze. The sheet of pale yellow Papermill card was embossed as the background. A narrow bronze organza ribbon from Create and Craft was wrapped around the bottom. The image was raised on foam dots near the top and then an Inkadinkado sentiment was stamped in brown Memento ink and cut with a Sue Wilson resplendent rectangle die. This was fixed between the image and the ribbon and had a wooden flower added as the finishing touch. Hmm.............................

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Cards Galore Challenge - Anything Goes
The Sisters of Craft Challenge - Anything Goes

Fitztown - Pink and Silver Christmas

This is my card for the Pink and Silver Christmas challenge over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog. Each challenge runs for two weeks and I'm here to encourage you to come along and join us - come on, you know you want to make yet another Christmas card! lol

My card blank is a large 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. The pink card is from Papermill and the silver paper is from a Papermania pad - I have glitter everywhere. The image is called Winter 2 and you can buy it here at the Fitztown Store. I coloured it with my Promarkers but the candle I coloured with a silver Sakura pen. I added some pink glitter to the baubles but I don't think I made a very good job of that. I matted the image on to more pink card and then raised it on foam pads to stand proud of the backing mat. I used my Spellbinders dies to cut the sentiment base and the ornate pieces to the left. My Create and Craft 'dazzlers' came out for only the second time and I added three to the top left of the image. It's definitely pink and silver. lol

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Moving along with the Times - Autumn Leaves

It's my turn this week to host the challenge at Moving Along with the Times and I chose the theme of Autumn Leaves. Unfortunately my eyes have been so bad that I didn't get the chance to write my MAWTT post as Hostess and Hazel (Didos) did it for me - thank you, Hazel. My blog post had been scheduled, apart from this couple of sentences, so there was no problem for me there.

Here's my card and for a change I haven't used any image, only a sentiment, diecut leaves and embossed background.

The large card blank is by Joanna Sheen and the brown card is by Papermill. The embossing folder is by Crafter's Companion. The quote was taken from the internet and is by Elizabeth Lawrence. After generating on the computer I cut it with a Sue Wilson die and raised it on foam pads. The leaves are mostly cut with Spellbinder dies but there's also a Marianne leaf die amongst them. The varying shades of card and paper are from my stash.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

I added a Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer gold dot to each corner. I used the Couture Creations 'Tied Together' embossing folder on some Papermill brown card, which I also matted on to the pale peach paper.

I used an Inkadinkado stamp for the sentiment which I heat embossed with Orange Marmalade before backing with the pale peach paper. I stamped some Inkadinkado sweets and then cut them out after colouring them - these were the only embellishments I decided to use.

Here's your favourite theme - Anything Goes - so come along and join us at Fitztown Challenge Blog. The image I've used is called Cutie 11 and you can buy it here, at the Fitztown Store.

My card blank is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. The image didn't take much colouring but I did use three of my Promarkers, a touch of pink, ivory and grey. lol I fussy cut the image and raised it on foam pads before adding to the mat of green backing paper from the First Edition Hideaway pad matted on to green pearlescent card. The little foam lamb is from Hobbycraft and I added that alongside a border of flowers cut with a Memory Box die. I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with the Spellbinders resplendent rectangle. The only addition then was the sun peeping in at the corner and I cut this freehand! lol (I bet you never guessed.)

Inspiration Destination Challenge 7

This week I have two cards to show you for our Anything Goes Challenge, number 7, over at Inspiration Destination.

We have two sponsors this week, Digital Delights and Sherri Baldy.

This first card shows you the Jack in the Box by Digital Delights (he's actually called Peeking Ginger Baby but I think he looks like a Jack in the Box lol) and I decided to make an easel card with him.

I coloured him with Promarkers and then cut him out very carefully. My Joanna Sheen card blank was folded for the easel and then red Papermill card and a printed backing paper were added as the backing. I used a Cheery Lynn die to cut the doily in Mirri card and set the Jack in the Box against the doily. The starbursts were perfect for this card and they are ny Joanna Sheen again, from her Signature range of dies. I cut it in three different colours and added those to the easel. The 'waste' stars were added to the base of the easel and the sentiment, as the stop, was generated on the computer.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it out with a Spellbinders classic oval die and matted it on to the scalloped oval in pink. The pink organza ribbon is by Joanna Sheen and the sentiment is from a sheet of sayings by Inkadinkado called 'Tell it like it is'. The little cupcake image, which was a freebie stamp in a magazine, was coloured with Promarkers and I added some Floracraft's Diamond Dust for frosting on top.

My card is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The white paper was embossed with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder and was then matted on to the base card as background for this beautiful image. The rose is a Fitztown image and you can buy it here.  I coloured it with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders classic circle and matted on to a dusky pink scalloped circle. The dusky pink card is from Papermill. The diamond butterfly is from The Handcrafted Card Company. The fabulous 'fabulous' was a pressie from Laurie, a DT buddy. My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The two shades of orange card are both by Papermill. I embossed the paler card with the Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of pennants before matting it on to the bright orange. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders grand classic circle, leaving the balloon to jut out over the frame. One of my new sentiments from Inkadinkado is cut with another Spellbinders die and is raised in the bottom corner. I decided to add some more animal friends and so used my Provo Craft dies to cut them in various colours.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

I just love dogs when they 'smile' at me, hence the sentiment. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it using a Sue Wilson Italian collection die. I made the backing paper by stamping a Sarah Beise dog stamp in Memento ink over white paper. I matted it on to Hobbycraft pearlescent green card and cut four Signature corner dies by Joanna Sheen. The card blank is, again, by Joanna Sheen. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and after cutting with a small Spellbinder resplendent rectangle I used two shades of green Distress Ink on the edges.

Fitztown - Anniversary/Love

My card this week uses the image Valentine 4 and it's available for you to buy here at the Fitztown Store. The theme this time at the Fitztown Challenge Blog is Anniversary or Love.

The scalloped card blank is by Craft UK. The gold glitter paper is by Papermania and I rounded all the corners using my Carl punch. I embossed a sheet of white paper using a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder and then, after using a Spellbinder Grand square scalloped nestie, matted it on to the gold glitter. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and carefully cut round the heart leaving a very small white border. After adding the image to the embossed background I used a Memory Box die for the heart which I set in the bottom right corner. My Spellbinder dies came out and I cut 50 in gold card to add at a slight angle to the bottom left.

It would have been our 50th wedding anniversary on 14th of this month and this theme came just at the right time. We had a very happy marriage for almost 48 years and Eric's never far from my thoughts, but especially so at this time.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Inspiration Destination Challenge 5 - Deborah, Hat Lady

Come and join us at Inspiration Destination and have some fun with Anything Goes. This week our sponsor is Rick St Dennis and I chose the image 'Deborah, Hat Lady'.

My large card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I used my new Sue Wilson die 'Bevelled Glass Striplet' and cut three in black card from Papermill. I have had the sparkly paper for ever! I bought it from Create and Craft when they first started and have used very little of it. I stuck the the three black striplets on separate colours and then matted them on to a creamy gold pearlescent card before matting that on to emerald pearlescent card from Hobbycraft.I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie classic oval which I then mounted on to foam squares to let her stand proud. The only embellishments were the gems added to the bottom of the card in all three colours, red, green and silver.

I love this image and (dare I say this myself?) I love this card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Fitztown - Distress

'Distress' is the theme over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog so please come along and join us. I used the image Wild 6 which you can buy here.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then tore the image out - you can't get more distressed than that, right? lol I then used Black Soot Distress Ink on the torn edges. The card blank is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. My Crafter's Companion embossalicious folders came into play. I embossed a sheet of white paper, with a trellis type pattern, as the base of the mat and then used a sheet of Black Magic Core-dination card for the background to the wolf. I used the leaves embossing folder on this and rubbed the surface until the green showed through the black. I also tore round the sides making the green visible on the edges. When I matted it on to the embossed white I raised it on foam pads so that it stood out more. The wolf image was set against the background and then I generated the sentiment on the computer, tearing the edges and distressing as before.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Creative Moments Challenge - Anything Goes
DigiStamps4Joy - Animals
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes

MAWTT Someone Special at Christmas

It's Shell's turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along With The Times this week and she chose 'Someone Special at Christmas' for the theme.

I bought some DL cards from Craft UK at the Alexandra Palace craft fair and decided to make a DL card and use my Spellbinders heart strip die. The red card is from Papermill. I embossed the white paper (yes, it does look pink but that's just my bad photography!) with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder and matted it on to the red card. After cutting my heart strip I added one large green gem to the centre and then all I had to do was add the sentiment which I generated on the computer. This is the nearest I get to making any cards for 'someone special' I'm afraid.

My first card is using the image of a sweet little ghost and the sentiment 'Boo to You', both by Sweet 7.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The leather look card is by Papermill and I thought it perfect for the background to this cute little ghost. The only time I needed my Promarkers was to colour the bow and, of course, it had to be red.I cut out the sentiment and matted it on to bright red card, again by Papermill. The only embellishment was a red square button, tied with black silk, both from my stash.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

I coloured her with Promarkers. The pink paper is by Papermill and I embossed it with my new embossing folder 'Rows of Bows' by Creative Expressions (I think!). I matted the embossed sheet on to pink card, also by Papermill. The pearls are from Meiflower and the pink metal charm is from Create and Craft. The sentiment is one from a sheet of sentiment by PaperArtsy. I matted it on to pink card and then added that to one of Sue Wilson's bow dies just to give a little extra to the shape.

Fitztown - Anything Goes

Here's my card for the Anything Goes challenge over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog. I've used the image 'Wedding Day Set, Ivy 4' available from the Fitztown Etsy Store.

The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured her with my Promarkers and added touches of gold with my Sakura pen before cutting with a grand Spellbinders label die. Before releasing the image from the die I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink round the inside edge. The backing paper is from a First Edition pad called Hideaway and I matted this on to Burgundy card from Papermill. Using a Memory Box die I used the same card to cut the Whimsy Circle in the top right corner. I added a red gem heart to the centre. A small Xcut heart die was used to cut the little heart which I added to the bottom of the image.

After colouring the image with my Promarkers I cut with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. I set it at a slight angle before adding more Spellbinder diecuts of various leaves. The sentiment is one of a Lili of the Valley grunge set that I bought at Alexandra Palace craft fair. I added three small faux gems, from JJD Cards, to the oval and you might not notice but I did touch a couple of leaves with some gilding flakes by Imagination Crafts, also from Ally Pally.

MAWTT - Doggone it (or any animal)

Susan's turn to choose the theme for this week's card at Moving Along with the Times and she chose 'Doggone it' or any animal so that was OK. I tend to make quite a few cards with dogs on as one of my sons breeds dogs, so I thought I'd pick this tree frog image. The image is by Fitztown and is available at their Etsy store.

When Eric and I went to stay with his relatives in Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, in 2010, we were amazed to see a frog, exactly like this one, peering from under a plant pot on their veranda - and it's five or six storeys up!! They think it had been brought from their previous garden by the removal men without realising. It joined us on the veranda every evening, coming out to sit on the arm of a garden chair. I called him Mr Frog, he was so cute. Happy memories.

Back to my card........... it's a Joanna Sheen large square and the navy card is from Papermill. I raised the navy card on foam pads after wrapping a piece of Hobbycraft raffia round the left side. I got round to using my Barbara Gray stencil which I bought at Ally Pally. I used two shades of green Distress Ink on the reeds and yellow for the moon and after tearing the image out I edged it with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders label die. A small wooden frog from Create and Craft was added as an embellishment.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create Challenge - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's Crafts Challenge - Animals

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The purple card is by Papermill and the pretty backing paper is from Dovecraft. The image, Chopper, is by Dr Digi and is available here.

I coloured the chopper image with my Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders die before using Distress Ink on the edges. I cut three lengths of purple card in various widths and crossed them across the backing paper. I made three very 'dodgy' looking banners and added a gem to the bottom of each. The gems are part of  my new supply from Meiflower that I bought at the Alexandra Palace Craft fair last weekend. The Grungy stamp is from Lili of the Valley, also bought at Ally Pally, and backed with a purple scalloped die cut. This brings back happy memories of my two sons riding their Chopper and Tomahawk bikes when they were young.

This is my challenge card for the Halloween theme over at Fitztown challenge blog - please come along and join us. I've used the image Halloween 3 which can be bought from the Fitztown store but you must check out all the digis on offer, they're got something for any occasion.

My card blank is by Craft UK. I've used my Promarkers for the small amount of colouring on this digi and I enjoyed dripping blood on her. lol I used a Spellbinders die for cutting the image out. I did the background using Word Art on white paper and matting it on to black leather look paper from Papermill. I tore out two of the words and edged them with Barn Door Distress Ink before adding to the design. They are raised to give a little dimension. Job done.

Inspiration Destination - new blog!

Yes, I'm now a design team member of the new blog Inspiration Destination. Every challenge will be Anything Goes so come along and join us.

This week we are being sponsored by Fitztown and my image, Cameo 18, can be found here.

The small card blank is by Craft UK. The navy card and the turquoise card are both by Papermill. I embossed the turquoise card using a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder and then matted it on to the navy as the background for the very pretty image.

I coloured her with my Promarkers and then gave a soft glow round the entire image with a pale pink marker. I cut the image with a Spellbinder lacy circle and then backed it with a navy blue classic circle to make the image stand out a bit more. I added small turquoise metal flowers to the top part of the circle - I think these were freebies in a magazine.. I cut four small flowers in turquoise pearlescent card and added one to each corner as the finishing touch. Just my type of CAS card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Di's Digi Designs Challenge - Girly
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
4KraftyGirlz Challenge 27 - Anything Goes

Fitztown - Animal

The theme over at Fitztown Challenge blog is 'Animals' and here's my card using Fish Comb 2 from the Fitztown store. Pop over there and see all the images - you'll find loads of lovely digis.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen and is an 8x8 square. I coloured the fish with my Promarkers and then decided to cut them out individually and have them swimming in water - original, eh? lol I used an image from the internet for the background which I altered to suit my fish. I used a Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle Iridescent spray on the paper to make it look sparkly and I also used it on the fish after I'd coloured them - it makes them look really good but you can't spot that on my photo. I matted the water image on to silver card. The sentiment was generated on the computer and cut with a Spellbinders classic oval matted on to a silver scalloped oval. The only additional embellishment was a small silver starfish charm which I fixed in the bottom right corner. I bought the charm from Crafty Bitz.

MAWTT 3 2 1 Recipe

Come and join us at Moving Along with the Times challenge this week. It's Jessie's turn to host and she chose the theme of a 3 2 1 Recipe - 3 colours, 2 papers, 1 image. Here's my card:

My three colours are blue, green and orange and the two backing papers are from a Papermania pack. The image is by Linnie of Whoopsidaisy and is on her CD called 'Daisy and Friends' by Joanna Sheen. I've used this image a few times now. He's such a lovely little boy, even if I have put him in double denim! lol

The small card blank is by Craft UK. I coloured him with my Promarkers and after cutting with my x cutter I edged with Distress Ink. The papers were matted on to Papermill's lime green card. The Spellbinders number 2 die was cut in one of the papers and added to an orange Nellie Snellen diecut.
