Inspiration Destination Challenge 5 - Deborah, Hat Lady

Come and join us at Inspiration Destination and have some fun with Anything Goes. This week our sponsor is Rick St Dennis and I chose the image 'Deborah, Hat Lady'.

My large card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I used my new Sue Wilson die 'Bevelled Glass Striplet' and cut three in black card from Papermill. I have had the sparkly paper for ever! I bought it from Create and Craft when they first started and have used very little of it. I stuck the the three black striplets on separate colours and then matted them on to a creamy gold pearlescent card before matting that on to emerald pearlescent card from Hobbycraft.I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie classic oval which I then mounted on to foam squares to let her stand proud. The only embellishments were the gems added to the bottom of the card in all three colours, red, green and silver.

I love this image and (dare I say this myself?) I love this card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
As You Like It Challenge - Cute or Elegant and why - I'm not keen on making cute so stick to elegant images whenever I can.
Delightful Challenges - Three's not a crowd -  3 black striplets and three of each type of gem/pearl

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Dies and/or punches

Fitztown - Distress

'Distress' is the theme over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog so please come along and join us. I used the image Wild 6 which you can buy here.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then tore the image out - you can't get more distressed than that, right? lol I then used Black Soot Distress Ink on the torn edges. The card blank is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. My Crafter's Companion embossalicious folders came into play. I embossed a sheet of white paper, with a trellis type pattern, as the base of the mat and then used a sheet of Black Magic Core-dination card for the background to the wolf. I used the leaves embossing folder on this and rubbed the surface until the green showed through the black. I also tore round the sides making the green visible on the edges. When I matted it on to the embossed white I raised it on foam pads so that it stood out more. The wolf image was set against the background and then I generated the sentiment on the computer, tearing the edges and distressing as before.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Creative Moments Challenge - Anything Goes
DigiStamps4Joy - Animals
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

MAWTT Someone Special at Christmas

It's Shell's turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along With The Times this week and she chose 'Someone Special at Christmas' for the theme.

I bought some DL cards from Craft UK at the Alexandra Palace craft fair and decided to make a DL card and use my Spellbinders heart strip die. The red card is from Papermill. I embossed the white paper (yes, it does look pink but that's just my bad photography!) with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder and matted it on to the red card. After cutting my heart strip I added one large green gem to the centre and then all I had to do was add the sentiment which I generated on the computer. This is the nearest I get to making any cards for 'someone special' I'm afraid.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Embossing
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Kitty Bee Designs Challenge - Dies and/or Punches
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Clean and Simple Sunday Challenge - Emboss it

Inspiration Destination Challenge 4

This is challenge 4 at Inspiration Destination so come along and join in the fun. This week I have two cards to show you. We are being sponsored by Sweet 7 and Crafty Sentiments and I have a card showing an image from each sponsor.

My first card is using the image of a sweet little ghost and the sentiment 'Boo to You', both by Sweet 7.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The leather look card is by Papermill and I thought it perfect for the background to this cute little ghost. The only time I needed my Promarkers was to colour the bow and, of course, it had to be red.I cut out the sentiment and matted it on to bright red card, again by Papermill. The only embellishment was a red square button, tied with black silk, both from my stash.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Pumpkin Spice Saturday Challenge - Harvest or Halloween
Crafty Catz Challenge - Black with one other colour
Fairy Tale Challenge - Happy Halloween
Simply Create Too - Halloween or Lots of Orange
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
The Stamping Boutique - Trick or Treat
Sentimental Sundays Challenge - Too cute to spook

This image is Lola by Crafty Sentiments.

I coloured her with Promarkers. The pink paper is by Papermill and I embossed it with my new embossing folder 'Rows of Bows' by Creative Expressions (I think!). I matted the embossed sheet on to pink card, also by Papermill. The pearls are from Meiflower and the pink metal charm is from Create and Craft. The sentiment is one from a sheet of sentiment by PaperArtsy. I matted it on to pink card and then added that to one of Sue Wilson's bow dies just to give a little extra to the shape.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Embossing

Fitztown - Anything Goes

Here's my card for the Anything Goes challenge over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog. I've used the image 'Wedding Day Set, Ivy 4' available from the Fitztown Etsy Store.

The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured her with my Promarkers and added touches of gold with my Sakura pen before cutting with a grand Spellbinders label die. Before releasing the image from the die I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink round the inside edge. The backing paper is from a First Edition pad called Hideaway and I matted this on to Burgundy card from Papermill. Using a Memory Box die I used the same card to cut the Whimsy Circle in the top right corner. I added a red gem heart to the centre. A small Xcut heart die was used to cut the little heart which I added to the bottom of the image.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Inspiration Destination Challenge 3

We're on to Challenge 3 at Inspiration Destination and the standard theme is Anything Goes. Please come along and join us.

Our sponsor this week is My Whimsical Little World and the image is called Bed of Autumn Leaves. I used a Joanna Sheen card blank and then added a mat of dark brown pearlescent card and a beautiful backing paper by First Edition from their pad Hideaway. After colouring the image with my Promarkers I cut with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. I set it at a slight angle before adding more Spellbinder diecuts of various leaves. The sentiment is one of a Lili of the Valley grunge set that I bought at Alexandra Palace craft fair. I added three small faux gems, from JJD Cards, to the oval and you might not notice but I did touch a couple of leaves with some gilding flakes by Imagination Crafts, also from Ally Pally.

MAWTT - Doggone it (or any animal)

Susan's turn to choose the theme for this week's card at Moving Along with the Times and she chose 'Doggone it' or any animal so that was OK. I tend to make quite a few cards with dogs on as one of my sons breeds dogs, so I thought I'd pick this tree frog image. The image is by Fitztown and is available at their Etsy store.

When Eric and I went to stay with his relatives in Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, in 2010, we were amazed to see a frog, exactly like this one, peering from under a plant pot on their veranda - and it's five or six storeys up!! They think it had been brought from their previous garden by the removal men without realising. It joined us on the veranda every evening, coming out to sit on the arm of a garden chair. I called him Mr Frog, he was so cute. Happy memories.

Back to my card........... it's a Joanna Sheen large square and the navy card is from Papermill. I raised the navy card on foam pads after wrapping a piece of Hobbycraft raffia round the left side. I got round to using my Barbara Gray stencil which I bought at Ally Pally. I used two shades of green Distress Ink on the reeds and yellow for the moon and after tearing the image out I edged it with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders label die. A small wooden frog from Create and Craft was added as an embellishment.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create Challenge - Anything Goes

Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes Challenge 2

This is our second challenge over at the new blog 'Inspiration Destination' so come along and join us.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The purple card is by Papermill and the pretty backing paper is from Dovecraft. The image, Chopper, is by Dr Digi and is available here.

I coloured the chopper image with my Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders die before using Distress Ink on the edges. I cut three lengths of purple card in various widths and crossed them across the backing paper. I made three very 'dodgy' looking banners and added a gem to the bottom of each. The gems are part of  my new supply from Meiflower that I bought at the Alexandra Palace Craft fair last weekend. The Grungy stamp is from Lili of the Valley, also bought at Ally Pally, and backed with a purple scalloped die cut. This brings back happy memories of my two sons riding their Chopper and Tomahawk bikes when they were young.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

This is my challenge card for the Halloween theme over at Fitztown challenge blog - please come along and join us. I've used the image Halloween 3 which can be bought from the Fitztown store but you must check out all the digis on offer, they're got something for any occasion.

My card blank is by Craft UK. I've used my Promarkers for the small amount of colouring on this digi and I enjoyed dripping blood on her. lol I used a Spellbinders die for cutting the image out. I did the background using Word Art on white paper and matting it on to black leather look paper from Papermill. I tore out two of the words and edged them with Barn Door Distress Ink before adding to the design. They are raised to give a little dimension. Job done.

Inspiration Destination - new blog!

Yes, I'm now a design team member of the new blog Inspiration Destination. Every challenge will be Anything Goes so come along and join us.

This week we are being sponsored by Fitztown and my image, Cameo 18, can be found here.

The small card blank is by Craft UK. The navy card and the turquoise card are both by Papermill. I embossed the turquoise card using a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder and then matted it on to the navy as the background for the very pretty image.

I coloured her with my Promarkers and then gave a soft glow round the entire image with a pale pink marker. I cut the image with a Spellbinder lacy circle and then backed it with a navy blue classic circle to make the image stand out a bit more. I added small turquoise metal flowers to the top part of the circle - I think these were freebies in a magazine.. I cut four small flowers in turquoise pearlescent card and added one to each corner as the finishing touch. Just my type of CAS card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Di's Digi Designs Challenge - Girly
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
4KraftyGirlz Challenge 27 - Anything Goes
