OSAAT #157 - Spring
Spring is the theme this week over at One Stitch at Time so please join us. I used the image Baby Gangstaz Toby by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store.
I coloured the image with my Promarkers before cutting with a Spellbinders grand nestie. I backed it with the larger size nestie in Papermill pale blue card. I love the backing paper which is sort of a greeny/grey check that I bought at a craft fair from Payper Box. I used Creative Expressions baker's twine to give some interest to the backing and then simply added a small Create and Craft 'dog' button. (Don't tell him but this card is for my son who breeds dogs.........................and he doesn't look a lot different from this Toby boy.) I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with Spellbinders dies. My card blank is by Joanna Sheen.
Check out the challenge blog for details of prizes.

OSAAT 156 - Use a Digi
The theme this week is Use a Digi so pop over to One Stitch at a Time and join us. I used the image called Butterfly Scent by Kaz Krafts over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie, backing it on to the larger size nestie in Papermill yellow card. The scalloped card blank is by Craft UK. I used a Martha Stewart punch around the page for the backing paper in ivory pearlescent paper, again from Papermill. After cutting it I found that it was slightly too big for the base card so I trimmed off the outside edge! I added butterflies in two different sizes, both Spellbinders dies. I layered the one at the bottom so it was yellow underneath and white on top with Wild Orchid Craft pearls down the body. I finished it off with three pearls at the top right.
The sponsor this week is Stitchybear and a lucky person will win all the images used by the DT on challenge 154 but do check out the challenge blog for details.

OSAAT #155 - White on White OR No Designer Papers
The challenge over at One Stitch at a Time this week is White on White (or no designer papers). I made a birthday card for my friend so I hope she likes it. I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The embossed backing paper is made with a Crafters Companion Embossalicious folder. The image I got to use this week is Butterfly Fields by Tami of Gingerloft over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store. There are two images in the set. After I'd decided which image to use I printed it on to paper and it looked quite stark against all the white. I printed it again, this time on vellum from Create and Craft, and it's much more muted and suited to the embellishments. I cut it with my Spellbinders grand oval nestie and matted it on to the embossed sheet. The butterflies are cut with Spellbinders dies and the leaves are cut with Memory box dies. The large butterfly is set in the centre of another Spellbinder shape, the butterfly small nestie. I'm on a roll because this is the third card in a row that I'm actually pleased with so things are looking up!
The sponsor is Stitchybear but please check out the challenge blog for full details of prizes.
Now that this card is about to be scheduled on my blog my friend's birthday has been and gone and she LOVED her card!

I notice that I've lost one of my followers. :( I've had 151 for so long that I'd just become used to seeing the same number over and over again. Is it because my crafting has slowed down? I'm sorry that I'm not so prolific in my posts as I once was but I hope to get back into it at some point in the future. It's taking longer than I imagined but thank you to all my faithful followers who post on almost every card with some positive comment.

OSAAT #154 Anything Goes
The theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time is the easiest of all - Anything Goes. Come along and join us and you will be in with the chance of winning all the digi images used by the design team on challenge 152.
Josephine, my DT buddy, chose the image for the two of us this week and she chose Ike's Geranium Basket. You can buy Ike's wonderful images from the Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop.
Of course, I used my Promarkers to colour the image, cut it with a Spellbinders grand circle nestie and edged it with Barn Door Distress Ink. I matted it on to a red Mirri board scalloped nestie. The spotty backing paper is from a book of papers I got free in a magazine and it's by Raspberry Road Designs. I matted that on to red Miri board too. That red card came into play again with the Cheery Lynn doily die, to add a bit of glitz to the top left corner, tucked just behind the image. I finished off the design with some Card Candi in Regal Ruby which matches the Mirri board perfectly. The large square card blank is by Joanna Sheen.
I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

My Grafico - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime Challenge 5 - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Punches and Dies
4 Crafty Chicks Challenge - Die For Dies

My favourite green again
Hello again - This is the first card I've made for months and months, apart from my OSAAT design team cards. I got this wonderful freebie from Beccy Muir and decided to enter her March challenge over at Beccy's Place. I've also entered the 'green' challenge at Digi Haven and in to the forum challenge 'corners' at Joanna Sheen's website.
My card is a large square blank from Joanna Sheen. The pale green card, matted on to dark green card and both from Papermill, has been embossed with a Crafters Companion Embossalicious folder. The corners are by Spellbinders and the filigree heart is by Memory Box. I generated the sentiment on the computer and used Spellbinders dies again! The colour green and dies are my most favourite crafting things, oops, plus Promarkers - which I used to colour the image. Distress Ink is smudged on the edges.
I can't believe that I've actually made a card outside of the design team. I've had many ups and downs over the past few months and have felt awful at times but with the help of my many friends I'm hoping for more ups over the coming months. I'm going to try and chat a bit more on my blog so forgive me in advance if I begin to bore you - I'm sure you'll tell me (please). My son, daughter in law and I are viewing a house tomorrow. We can't buy it until I sell mine but at least we can start a list of possibles. My son breeds Staffordshire Bull Terriers so we need to be away from neighbours. This has given me something to look forward to and has almost given me a new lease of life. I'll let you know how things go. Thanks to all my followers for the lovely comments you leave me and for spurring me on these past few months.

OSAAT #153 - Green or Recycle
No recycling for me I'm afraid on this one - I took the opportunity of using my favourite colour again, GREEN! Yes, that's the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time, Green or Recycle. Come along and join us, we'd love to see you.
The image, Birds in a Tree, is by Claire of Hope Jacare over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store.
The sponsor is Stitchybear so come across to the challenge blog and check out the prizes.
I coloured the image with my Promarkers, using a black Sakura pen for some of the colour on the birds. I carefully cut round the image so that it would stand out on the dark green background. The dark green Papermill card was matted on to a lighter green card, Papermill again, before being affixed to the Joanna Sheen card blank. I used the same lighter green card to cut the Spellbinder leaf flourishes.
I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - Favourite Colour
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes
City Crafters Challenge - Wings of an Angel
DL Arts Challenge - Anything to do with Birds
