INTAAS Blue as Main Colour

Over at International Art and Soul our theme is 'Use blue as main colour' so come along and join us with your take on this challenge theme.

I'm not keen on blue so don't often choose to use it as my main colour, however, I persevered and eventually came up with this card.

The card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK. I used my under used Brushos in varying shades of blue on the white paper which I then matted on to bright blue card from Papermill. The border on the left is a Joanna Sheen die called Grace Lace and I cut it in pale blue card, again by Papermill. The star is also by Joanna Sheen and was cut in the same pale blue card. I used a Sakura blue glitter pen on the inside edge of the shooting stars to try and make it stand out a little. I'm not sure that it's made a difference. lol

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with a Die
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

INTAAS Use Green as your main colour

Come and join us at International Art and Soul and show us what you can make for our theme of 'Use Green as your main colour' which was set by Maggie.

My card blank is a 7x7  by Craft UK. I have to admit that I have no idea where I got the bright background paper which I matted on to the sludgy green card as the mat. The image is called  Grotesque Cupid and is by Teri Sherman. I coloured the image with two green Promarkers and a Sakura glitter pen. His teeth look really nasty with that glisten. lol After colouring the image I cut it with a large Spellbinder circle die. I used a green Distress Ink to colour the edge of the circle and then added a light green 50, again cut with Spellbinder dies. This card is for my 'baby boy' who will be 50 in June. Where did those years go? I had a freebie stamp of 'Happy Birthday' which I inked with another Distress Ink in a darker green and I stamped it above the head of the cupid.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

DL ART - Anything Goes
Through the Purple Haze - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes with option of using sentiment
Simon Says Stamp - Use some Green
Digi Choosday - Anything Goes

IAAS Things with Wings

International Art and Soul have the lovely challenge theme of 'Things with Wings' so why not come along and join us?

My card blank is an 8x8 by Craft UK. The backing paper is from a pad by The Works and it's matted on to some of Anita's mirri card. The dragon fly stamp and sentiment are both by Visible Image. I stamped them both with Memento ink in Cocoa and then cut them with Spellbinder circle dies. I used more of the silver card to cut scalloped circles as backings for them. I coloured the dragon fly with Sakura glitter pens and the wings really glitter. I backed them on to their silver scalloped circles and then set them in place. I used Spellbinder dies again for two corners cut in the silver card. Job done.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Art Impressions - Use Circles
Crafty Sentiments - Die and/or punch
Lemon Shortbread - Always Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

IAAS Not square or oblong

This challenge was set by Jennie and I'm sure you'll enjoy joining in with us over at International Art and Soul, all we ask is that you don't make the usual square or oblong card.

I coloured the image of 'Fancy Free' by Barb over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps. I've had it for quite a few years so I'm not sure if it'll still be available. Anyway, I love her, and I coloured her with my Promarkers before cutting it with a large classic oval Spellbinders die. I used an A3 sheet of pearlescent pink to cut the Spellbinders large scalloped oval as the base card. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley and after I'd fussy cut it out I coloured the edge with a Sakura glitter pen and then backed it with pearlescent pink card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

MAWTT Fantasy

Please come over to Moving Along with the Times and join us in the challenge theme of 'Fantasy' set by June.

I won some digis by Lacy Sunshine just before Christmas and this was one of them. This is my idea of fantasy - a smiling caterpillar at the bottom of my garden.

My card blank is by Craft UK. I made a mat of red Papermill card on which I'd set a sheet of grass coloured paper from a paper pad by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers before cutting with a Spellbinders die and edging with Distress Ink. I placed it to the right of the mat and added a red bunting cut with a Joanna Sheen die. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley and I cut it out carefully before adding to a small scalloped die cut by Spellbinders. I edged the sentiment with a Sakura red gelly roll pen so it glistens,

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes
Always Happy Birthday - Happy Birthday
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps - Balloons, Bunting or Presents

IAAS - Add a tag or charm

Hello again - I'm back after a very unsettling house move. The removal men were pleasant enough but their common sense was almost non-existent. After a great deal of help I'm eventually sorted and my craft room is once again in working order.

This theme over at International Art and Soul is 'Add a tag or charm' and as you can see I've added a wooden tag from Docrafts. I used a Sakura gelly roll pen to write 'Lest we forget' on the tag and then I had to think about the rest of the design, My mojo is not at its best but this is the first card I've made for months so I think it's making a comeback. I've had the poppy napkin for ages and used it once for a card a few years ago so I knew it would work for this one. I chose the section on the napkin that I needed and carefully cut round it before sticking to the white paper. I set the white paper against bright red card from Papermill as the mat, which I thought looked good against the Craft UK ivory card blank. Once the napkin had dried I set the tag in the top right corner and added a red ribbon to it. Three red Mei Flower gems were added to the top left and bottom right corners. Then I went to bed!

The following day I looked at it again and decided it needed more so I typed up the two verses. I printed them in grey so that they weren't too stark and then tore around the edges. I used a grey Promarker to edge them and set them in place.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafting with Friends - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers- Anything Goes
Cardz4Guyz - Remembrance. Sympathy, Thinking of You
Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore  Encore - Anything Goes

International Art and Soul - Wings

Come along and join us this time in our challenge at International Art and Soul - we have the theme of 'Wings'.

I've used a scalloped 8x8 card blank by Craft UK. My stamped image is a Dragonfly by Visible Image. I coloured it with Sakura Gelly Roll pens to give the glittery sheen to the wings. I then cut it out leaving a very thin white edge. That was put to one side whilst I used a Clarity stencil and some Distress Inks in various shades of green to make the background of reeds and bulrushes. When that was completed I matted it on to lime green card by Papermill. I matted it on to my card blank and then added the dragonfly The sentiment, again by Visible Image, was cut with a Spellbinder die, tinged with green Distress Ink and then raised to the right of the design. Five small green gems by Mei Flower were added to the top right and left corners.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
My Time to Craft - No Designer Papers
Crafting with Friends - Anything Goes
Simply Papercraft - Anything Goes
Crafty Girls Creations - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Thanks for calling in.

MAWTT An Age Related Sentiment

The theme this week, over at Moving Along with the Times, is set by Jenny and is 'An Age Related Sentiment'. Perfect timing for me as it's my daughter in law's birthday on Friday.

I used a 7x7 Craft UK card blank and then matted a Papermania lilac paper on top. I have no idea where the purple card came from for the three purple glitter strips. I'm sure I didn't buy it anywhere so it must have been a gift from someone. The Bugaboo image was coloured with Promarkers and a Sakura diamond glitter pen for the icing on the cakes.I cut it with a Spellbinders die and used the smallest die from the same set for the sentiment - which is ALMOST from Bugaboo. The edges were all coloured with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. A strip of 'jewels' is the only embellishment,  again a gift from a crafty friend.

I hope I'm able to add my card to some challenges this week. My eyes weren't much better immediately after the injections but they seem much better now, almost three weeks later.

The challenges entered:
Crafty Sentiments: Anything Goes
Everybody for Art Challenge: For Girls
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Craft your Passion: Anything Goes

MAWTT Fairy Enough

This is my card for the challenge over at Moving long with the Times, why not come along and join us?

The large scalloped card is by Craft UK. I used my Brushos that I bought at Ally Pally for the background, just because I was dying to have a go with them. The Poppy fairy stamp is by Joanna Sheen and I coloured her with my Promarkers and a Sakura diamond gelly roll pen for the wings. After cutting with a large Spellbinders oval die the edge was coloured with Barn Door Distress Ink. The sentiment is also an Ally Pally buy, from Bee Crafty and cut with a scalloped oval die.

I'm still not able to enter challenges as my eyes don't allow me to be on the computer for more than a few minutes at a time. I have to have a break during this post. Thank you for visiting and hope to see you all again soon.

MAWTT - Song Lyrics

This week it was the turn of Lena to choose the theme for the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. She chose Song Lyrics and the one I chose was 'Be Happy' by Bob Marley.

I used a Joanna Sheen card blank and made a background mat of black card and My Mind's Eye paper. I coloured the image with my Promarkers, with gold Sakura pen for the ends of the stick, and cut it with Spellbinders grand oval nestie. I'm not sure who drew the digi or where my sentiment came from as I've had that stamped for a while. Anyway, the sentiment was matted on to green paper and black card and had a small flower gem added to one corner. The flower centre was made by Nataliya and the outer petals were sent to me by Laurie and they went together quite well. I added some leaves that I had already in my 'leaves box'. I'm having to use as much as I can that I had prepared months, if not years, ago due to this eye problem.

I'm not able to join in with any challenges just yet as I still can't spend too much time on the computer. Thank you all for bearing with me.

Fitztown 'Have a Heart'

Come and join us at Fitztown Challenge Blog for our theme this month of 'Have a Heart'. Of course, that means we want to see a heart somewhere on your card.

I've used the image Bridal Wedding Day 1 which I hope is still available in the Fitztown Etsy store. If anyone has a problem finding any of the images I use for Fitztown you can send an email to sales@Fitztown.com and someone will assist you in finding the image you want.

The card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and a Sakura silver pen for the lace and head dress and then cut it into a rectangle. I used the Couture Creations 'Tied Together' embossing folder for the background paper and then matted it on to silver card. The heart and key are Spellbinder dies and I cut them in silver card from Papermill. The little heart and saying is from Tim Holtz - bought in Florida at Christmas and first time I've used them, so cute. I've used my new Sue Wilson bow dies again to make the bow at top left and, once again, put a rose in the centre. The flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Miriam's Crafting Blog - Romance

Fitztown - Anything Goes with a Twist

The challenge over at Fitztown Challenge Blog is Anything Goes with a twist and the twist is - use patterned paper.. Come and join us, you know that this is your favourite theme. lol

I used the image Fae 21 and you can buy this one and lots of other lovely digis from the Fitztown Store.

My card blank, once again, is by Joanna Sheen. The orange card is all from Papermill. The glittered backing paper is from a First Edition pad called Hideaway. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then used a Sakura gelly roll pen on her face art and the butterflies, to add some glitz - I'm not sure that you can pick that up on this photo though. I used a Spellbinders label die to cut her out and then used three more Spellbinder dies to add the butterfly top left, the backing for the computer generated sentiment and the butterfly circle top right. The three other little butterflies are cut with a Martha Stewart punch. For more glitz I added some faux gems, from JJD Cards, to the circle top right.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Fitztown - Christmas Theme

The challenge at Fitztown this week is Christmas Theme and I used the very cute image of Stardust and Pumpkin 7 from the Fitztown Store. I coloured her in with my Promarkers, adding some glitz to her wings with Sakura gelly roll pens, and then cut with the Spellbinders grand nestie oval.

The green glitter paper with sticky back is from the Bluewater Craft Fair of a couple of years ago. I used that as the mat on my 8x8 card by Joanna Sheen. I used a Sue Wilson striplet die for the red die cut and added a large pearl to the centre. The red card is from Papermill. I generated the sentiment on the computer, backing it with more red card.

Fitztown - Pink and Silver Christmas

This is my card for the Pink and Silver Christmas challenge over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog. Each challenge runs for two weeks and I'm here to encourage you to come along and join us - come on, you know you want to make yet another Christmas card! lol

My card blank is a large 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. The pink card is from Papermill and the silver paper is from a Papermania pad - I have glitter everywhere. The image is called Winter 2 and you can buy it here at the Fitztown Store. I coloured it with my Promarkers but the candle I coloured with a silver Sakura pen. I added some pink glitter to the baubles but I don't think I made a very good job of that. I matted the image on to more pink card and then raised it on foam pads to stand proud of the backing mat. I used my Spellbinders dies to cut the sentiment base and the ornate pieces to the left. My Create and Craft 'dazzlers' came out for only the second time and I added three to the top left of the image. It's definitely pink and silver. lol

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Fitztown - Anything Goes

Here's my card for the Anything Goes challenge over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog. I've used the image 'Wedding Day Set, Ivy 4' available from the Fitztown Etsy Store.

The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured her with my Promarkers and added touches of gold with my Sakura pen before cutting with a grand Spellbinders label die. Before releasing the image from the die I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink round the inside edge. The backing paper is from a First Edition pad called Hideaway and I matted this on to Burgundy card from Papermill. Using a Memory Box die I used the same card to cut the Whimsy Circle in the top right corner. I added a red gem heart to the centre. A small Xcut heart die was used to cut the little heart which I added to the bottom of the image.

Fitztown - Banners or Pennants

This week's challenge at Fitztown challenge blog is 'Banners or Pennants' so we'd like to see your cards with one or both of these on. I used both!

My image is Sports Car 1 available here. Check out the Fitztown store for lots of images in lots of sections with new images being added all the time.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and used my Sakura silver metallic pen on the exhaust, etc. After cutting the image into a rectangle I matted it on to dark green card from Papermill. I used Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of pennants on a sheet of white paper which I then matted on to more dark green card. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I wanted to keep this card quite simple so I made a dark green banner and wrote Happy Birthday in a Sakura white pen. The only addition then was the set of three green buttons, tied with Creative Expressions baker's twine, which I set at the bottom right corner.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Morgans Fae World Christmas Digis

Come and buy, come and buy. Yes, Morgans Fae World Etsy Shop has some new Christmas digis in the store and I've enjoyed colouring this one. I've used Promarkers to colour it, with Sakura gelly roll gold for the tree garland, and after cutting with a grand Spellbinders label nestie I matted it on to red card. I used a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder on some greeny/yellow card matted on to more red card. I added two narrow red strips of card. The image was then raised on foam pads to give some depth and a Joanna Sheen signature die of bunting was added beneath the image. Although I don't usually 'do' cute this is the second one in next to no time and I really enjoyed making it - maybe I'm getting hooked on cute.

Come across to the Fitztown Challenge blog and see some cards that the rest of the creative team have made with these wonderful new images.

The turquoise card is by Papermill and the card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I embossed a sheet of white paper with the Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of buttons before matting on to the turquoise card. The bunting die and organza ribbon are also by Joanna Sheen. I'm having a good day

Today I'm having a good day, no problem with my eyes so I've made a card. I decided I wanted to colour a Delicious Doodles image so I chose Blossom.
Yes, I do know that what I've coloured as leaves are actually the petals of the blossom but I'd already coloured one image correctly and decided to make a change with this one. I'd seen another card with them coloured as leaves so decided to give it a go myself and I like it, so there! lol (Secretly I do prefer them as petals but whoever I send this to will never notice, will they?)

I used a Joanna Sheen large card blank and the backing paper I'm sure hundreds of you will recognise - it's from Create and Craft YEARS ago and I've rarely used it. I matted it on to Papermill red card as the base for my image. I coloured Blossom with my Promarkers and the butterfly in a Sakura gelly roll pen so give it a glitter. I also matted the image on to red card. I then used my new Nellie Snellen diamond dies to cut some diamonds as embellishments and then added some Wild Orchid Crafts pearls. Job done and my eyes are still holding out, hurray!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles Challenge - Favourite DD image (not sure that's strictly true but Blossom is up there)
Card Mania - Flowers
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes

The Sisters of Craft - Anything Goes

We've got something special going on this week! As usual, we've got our challenge to play along with. We have a CELEBRATION theme for this challenge and this is for a very special reason! Celebrations can include birthdays, anniversaries, new baby, new home, new job, retirements, weddings, graduations... you get the idea!

Fifty two weeks ago today, Fitztown Challenge Blog launched its very first challenge! Woohoo! So put on your party hat and fancy duds, shine up your party shoes and come celebrate with us at our CELEBRATION Blog Hop!

In the mean time, we want you to party down with us! We've got some special prizes to make this a fun celebration! Keep reading! Below my card and description I'll list the rules and the order to follow the blog hop.

My image is the beautiful Fae 10 and is available in the Fitztown store.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then added little touches of glitter with a Sakura gelly roll pen to give a lift in certain place on the wings and the garland. I gave a slight edge of lemon before fussy cutting the image. I matted Fae on to a sheet from a Raspberry Road pad which was a freebie! They're all beautiful sheets of backing paper. I added the paper to yellow card and bright blue card to make a border to enhance the image. The yellow card is from Papermill and the blue card was a present.  I don't think this beautiful image needs much in the way of embellishments so the only thing I added was a computer generated sentiment reading Let's Celebrate. I used squeezed lemonade Distress Ink on the edge of the sentiment and added a small blue gem to the corner. Job done and I really love this card.

Along with having our usual winner and TOP 3 for the challenge, we will be having two additional prizes! We will be using Random.org to determine prizes for the blog hop. We will draw a name from comments on the Fitztown Challenge Blog for a TWO-DIGI prize. Plus, we have a freebie again and to win the freebie, all you have to do is dance on over and leave comments on the DT's and GD's personal blogs.
