Moving Along with the Times - Birthday Boys

This week it's Susan's turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. She also chose the theme - Birthday Boys - so here is my card.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The mat is blue Mirri board from Joanna Sheen, dark red card from Papermill and then an embossed sheet of grey card from Papermill. The embossing folder is by Crafter's Companion. The image is by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I coloured Toby with Promarkers and cut him with a Spellbinders nestie, matting it on to blue Miiri board. I used another Spellbinders die to cut a resplendent rectangle which I criss crossed with baker's twine from Creative Expressions. I added a ruby red Card Candi to each corner and then finished it all off with a Happy Birthday sentiment that I generated on the computer before cutting with yet another Spellbinders die.

I have to go to the dentist this morning so I'll be round to visit all the DT later and I'll link up to the challenges later too.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges - No Designer Paper
A Gem of a Challenge - One for the Boys
My Sheri Crafts - Use a Digi
Passion for Promarkers - Anything Goes
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Thanks for coming by and leaving your comments. They're all very much appreciated.

OSAAT #197 - White + one

Come and join us at One Stitch at a Time for our challenge this week with the theme White plus One which obviously means white and one other colour (though you can discount skin and hair).

I chose the image Nurse from Pookie at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. This meant that I was able to make a Get Well card which I haven't done for quite a while.

My large square card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I used red card from Papermill as the mats for the background, sentiment and the main image as well as the corner die cut. The white background was embossed with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it with my Xcut trimmer. I generated the sentiment on the computer before matting it on to the red card. The corner is a Memory Box die, Madera Corner.  My only extra little embellishment was a red apple button, from Create and Craft, tied with Creative Expressions baker's twine.

The sponsor this week is Creative Craft World with a prize of 3 Promarkers but pop across to the OSAAT blog to read about the prizes.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Bastel-Traum Challenge - Get Well Soon

OSAAT #196 - Use a Digi

The theme this week is Use a Digi over at One Stitch at a Time so come along and join us. The image this week was chosen by Josephine and it's called Finch on a Pine by Ike over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

The prize this week will be all the images used by the design team on challenge 194 but please come over to the OSAAT blog to see the prize structure.

My card is a small Craft UK card. I've had the backing paper for ages and have no idea where I got it though I do know that I used a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder on it. The dark brown pearlised card is by Papermill. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it with one of the 'dies that have no name' that I bought from Joanna Sheen a few months ago. They were very cheap and in unusual shapes that have come in very handy on some cards. I treated myself to some new dies this week and the bird nest is one of them. It's a die-namite die and from Joanna Sheen. I used the same brown pearlised card for the nest and then added some Card Candi to two of the corners.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
Digitally Sweet Challenges - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Emboss It
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Use something new

Moving along with the Times - Card for a Female

It was Hazel's (Didos) turn to choose the theme for this week's challenge over at Moving along with the Times and she chose 'Card for a Female'. I always need loads of these throughout the year so it was good to get started.

I used a large Joanna Sheen card blank and then decided to use a Saturated Canary image that I've had for months and never used. I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie circle. I used pale green card from Papermill for the background and I embossed it with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder. I matted it on to dark green card from Payper Box to just give a fine darker edge. The pale pink border along the bottom is from another Spellbinders set of dies, Parisian Accents. The sentiment is, of course, from Lili of the Valley, stamped and matted on to Spellbinders circle nesties. I used a darker pink pearlescent card to cut out two swirls that come with a Tattered Lace Butterfly die.

Come over to MAWTT to see all the beautiful cards made by the rest of the design team.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Polkadoodles Challenge - Anything Goes/Girly,Girly,Girly
Robyn's Fetish Challenge - No pattern paper - only cardstock
Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
LEJ Designs Challenge - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #195 - Starting New

'Starting New' is the theme for this week over at One Stitch at a Time. That means it can be a card for any 'new' occasion, baby, birthday, anniversary or you could use a new technique or even a new craft item that you received at Christmas - the options are many so please come along and join us.

My image is called 'Butterfly Profile' and is by Alipeeps over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I coloured her with my Promarkers and added some Sakura glitter with touches of different colours on the wings of the butterflies. I cut the image with a Spellbinders label die and backed it with bronze Mirri board from Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from Payper Box and that is also matted on to bronze Mirri board. I used my new Tattered Lace die of the butterfly and flourishes. I used handmade paper by Indus and it's called Brown Lotka. It was incredibly difficult to separate the image from the die and then to get it stuck on to the card was a feat in itself. Maybe next time I use the die I will use a heavier weight of paper or even card. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen.

Please check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes on offer.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Wings
Crafty Boots Challenge - Anything Goes

Moving Along with the Times - Thank You

This week the theme at Moving Along with the Times is 'Thank you' and this theme was set by Claire for Team B. It's a perfect time for all those thank you cards so this works out perfectly.

My card is a small Craft UK card and the blue and brown card is by Papermill. The backing paper is from Hot off the Press. I used a Spellbinders resplendent rectangle for the backing to the Signature die cut of Rosebud Flourish by Joanna Sheen. I have to say that these dies cut perfectly every time and are so easy to release. I coloured the rosebud flourish with my Promarkers. I generated the sentiment on the computer and after cutting with a Carl round corner punch I backed it with more brown card. I think it looks quite effective and this is another of my cards that I actually like! lol

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

Well, I didn't enter any challenges because I've been really poorly and not had the chance to check any out. This is the first time I've been on my blog for a while, everything has been scheduled, but I'm hoping that I'm back into the swing of things for the year ahead. Happy new year to you all and thank you so much for putting up with my moans over the last year.
