Fitztown - Googly Eyes

The theme this week at Fitztown Challenge Blog is Googly Eyes. I chose the image Cutie 2 for my card and that image is available here.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen and is an 8x8 square. The red card is from Papermill and the backing paper is from a freebie pad from Docrafts. After matting the backing paper on to the red card I added a black organza ribbon down the left side, topped with a narrow red organza ribbon and with a mustard coloured one alongside. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and I made her a tortoiseshell because I have a black tortie and a white tortie so needed to get them in on the act. After colouring her I cut with a Spellbinders die and then edged that with a Distress Ink in the Barn Door colour. I generated a sentiment on the computer and cut that with the smaller size Spellbinders die from the same set and again smudged the edge with the Distress Ink. I only had to add a black bow and pieces of Card Candi to the red ribbon and the mustard ribbon to finish off the design. This is a card that I enjoyed making and I know exactly who the recipient will be.

Check out the challenge blog for details of prizes.

OSAAT #212 use a Digi

This is my last card as a member of the Design Team of One Stitch at a Time. I've been here for three years and I thought it was time for a change otherwise I'll stagnate. I've enjoyed working with all the images and even more so with the DT - I'll miss you all.

The theme is Use a Digi and it was Jeanette's turn to choose an image for our mini team and she chose Hope Jacare's Swirly Owl Branch which is available to buy at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it into a rectangle and matted it on to dark brown card. The green backing paper is from a pad by First Edition called Hideaway. That was also matted on to the dark brown Papermill card. I used a Tattered Lace owl die to cut an owl in beige paper and then matted that on to a dark brown oval, cut with a Spellbinders die. I cut a narrow strip of the brown card to set across the bottom of the card and then decided to mirror the swirly branch in the image by using a Marianne swirl die. I used this on my last challenge card too - it gets used a lot! Well worth the money. The oval with the owl was raised on foam pads. The only embellishments then were three pieces of dark brown spotty Card Candi.

Please check out the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Digi Makeover Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Design - Anything Goes

OSAAT #209 Favourite Things

This week at One Stitch at a Time the theme is Favourite Things. I chose the image 'Balloon Boy 1' by BBKakes at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. The card is for my great nephew's second birthday and as I used 'Birthday Boy 1' for William's first birthday I thought it was ideal to use the same little boy for his second birthday. Thanks BBKakes.

The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The checked backing paper is by Papermania and it's matted on to Papermill's pale blue card.as the base. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and after cutting with my Xcut guillotine I used Distress Ink in the colour Barn Door on the edges. I used my Xcut heart nesting dies for the extra balloons and for the sentiment. I distressed the edge of the sentiment heart after printing on the computer. I added three small Card Cani pieces to the bottom corner.

My favourites? Well, first of all, little boys! I love little boys and having had two of my own I wish I'd had another ten. Secondly, dies - any sort of dies, I love them all but hearts are pretty special. Third on my list is Card Candi which is safer than using gems on a child's card. Following on from these are Promarkers (which are usually number one on my list) and Distress Inks. Then, of course, checked paper - anything in checks or spots has to be on my list of favourites. So you can see that I've used everything that's ever on my list of favourites, come and join us and let me know what are your favourites.

Check the OSAAT blog for the prizes this week.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
2 Cute Ink Digital Stamps Challenge - Celebration
City Crafter Challenge - Up, Up and Away
Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge - Tax Man
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Thank you all for your best wishes and condolences that you left for me.

OSAAT #206 - Anything Goes

Here is my card for this week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time - everyone's favourite theme 'Anything Goes'. It was Jeanette's turn to choose an image for four of the DT to use and she chose Craftygirl's 'Puppy' which you can buy at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I rarely make easel cards but this is the second one in a row for me. This puppy cried out for standing proud and so after colouring with my Promarkers and fixing to some card I carefully cut round him. I've used a small Craft UK square card blank which I scored to make the easel. I then used a piece of patterned paper behind the puppy and it was already in my printed papers so I can't for the life of me remember which CD it's on. I put a green Card Candi in each corner and a small white foam bone - I've had these foam shapes for about ten years, at least! I bought them from Create and Craft. The base is embossed with a Darice paw print folder which had been coloured with two brown Distress Inks. The woof is also a foam shape.

Please check out the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes on offer this week.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew - Animals
Digi Choosday Challenge - Animals
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Animals
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

One of my brothers died this morning so it hasn't been a very happy Mother's Day for me so far. He'll be greatly missed but it was a blessing for him.

Moving Along with the Times - Birthday Boys

This week it's Susan's turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. She also chose the theme - Birthday Boys - so here is my card.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The mat is blue Mirri board from Joanna Sheen, dark red card from Papermill and then an embossed sheet of grey card from Papermill. The embossing folder is by Crafter's Companion. The image is by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I coloured Toby with Promarkers and cut him with a Spellbinders nestie, matting it on to blue Miiri board. I used another Spellbinders die to cut a resplendent rectangle which I criss crossed with baker's twine from Creative Expressions. I added a ruby red Card Candi to each corner and then finished it all off with a Happy Birthday sentiment that I generated on the computer before cutting with yet another Spellbinders die.

I have to go to the dentist this morning so I'll be round to visit all the DT later and I'll link up to the challenges later too.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges - No Designer Paper
A Gem of a Challenge - One for the Boys
My Sheri Crafts - Use a Digi
Passion for Promarkers - Anything Goes
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #196 - Use a Digi

The theme this week is Use a Digi over at One Stitch at a Time so come along and join us. The image this week was chosen by Josephine and it's called Finch on a Pine by Ike over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

The prize this week will be all the images used by the design team on challenge 194 but please come over to the OSAAT blog to see the prize structure.

My card is a small Craft UK card. I've had the backing paper for ages and have no idea where I got it though I do know that I used a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder on it. The dark brown pearlised card is by Papermill. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it with one of the 'dies that have no name' that I bought from Joanna Sheen a few months ago. They were very cheap and in unusual shapes that have come in very handy on some cards. I treated myself to some new dies this week and the bird nest is one of them. It's a die-namite die and from Joanna Sheen. I used the same brown pearlised card for the nest and then added some Card Candi to two of the corners.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
Digitally Sweet Challenges - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Emboss It
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Use something new

MAWTT Challenge - Girly with NO Pink

Sarah was responsible for choosing the theme for this week at Moving along with the Times and she chose - Girly with NO Pink. Come along and join us because you can have a lot of fun with this theme. Check out the DT cards too - there are some lovely cards there to give you some inspiration if you need it.

Here is my take on this one. I won this digi image earlier this year and it's the first time I've used it. The signature on it is Jen Lee so thank you for a lovely image. I cannot for the life of me remember which challenge it was that I won. Perhaps someone might be able to tell me Jen's website.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. The yellow card and orange card is all by Papermill. I've used the Memory Box large Madera Corner die and Joanna Sheen's Signature dies for the Lacy Corners and the Butterfly Spray. I coloured the girl (she's called Mysteri if I remember that correctly) with my Promarkers and then cut with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. I also used a Spellbinders die for the fancy star shape at the bottom left and added a piece of Sunset Strip Card Candi to the centre of it.  The mat was embossed with a Crafter's Companion Embossalicious folder.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
Delicious Doodles - No Design Paper
Digitally Sweet - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Come and Get it - Anything Goes with twist of using Digital stamp
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #188 - Use a Digi

The theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time is Use a Digi. It was Josephine's turn to choose an image for herself, Shell and me to use and she chose Susan's 'Bear Guitar'. You can buy this image, by Sentimental Susan, at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I've used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The turquoise card is by Papermill and the music paper is by Payper Box. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie. I gently touched the edges with Distress Ink. The musical interlude and treble clef are dies by Memory Box. I used two pieces of Card Candi in the two RH corners. I generated the sentiment on the computer and set it across the top LH corner. I've given the brown bear the name of Busker so I hope Susan doesn't mind! lol

Please check out the OSAAT blog for full details of the prizes, however, I can tell you that someone will win all the digital images used by the DT on challenge 186.

OSAAT #168 Use a Digi

Thank you all for continuing to visit me even though my posts are few and far between. I had a lovely two weeks staying with my son and daughter in law in Kent. I had my first house viewers earlier this week but, unfortunately, they have not put an offer in for my house. Keep your fingers crossed for more viewers please.

This week's theme over at One Stitch at a Time is 'Use a Digi'. I chose Two Kittens by Barb over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I used the image of the kitten stretching and there's another of the kitten sitting.

Please check the challenge blog for details of prizes.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the kitten with my Promarkers and then cut it, on an angle, with one of my new X Cut large dies. The black card is by Papermill and the grey patterned paper is by Payper Box. I added a black organza ribbon, from Joanna Sheen, across the bottom and then added some bling to the centre of the ribbon. The bling was from our very good friend Nataliya. All I had to do then was add some Card Candi to the top right and bottom left. After I'd 'finished' it I thought it needed something else so I made a little Happy Birthday sentiment in a bright red font and cut it with one of the tiny dies that I bought a few weeks ago from Joanna Sheen - cheap sets but I have no idea who makes them.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Scrap it Girl Challenge - Use your dies
The Cupboard Trilogy - Birthdays
Divas by Design - Happy Birthday
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge - Birthday
Lady Anne's Challenge - Stamp - rubber or digi

OSAAT #154 Anything Goes

The theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time is the easiest of all - Anything Goes. Come along and join us and you will be in with the chance of winning all the digi images used by the design team on challenge 152.

Josephine, my DT buddy, chose the image for the two of us this week and she chose Ike's Geranium Basket. You can buy Ike's wonderful images from the Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop.

Of course, I used my Promarkers to colour the image, cut it with a Spellbinders grand circle nestie and edged it with Barn Door Distress Ink. I matted it on to a red Mirri board scalloped nestie. The spotty backing paper is from a book of papers I got free in a magazine and it's by Raspberry Road Designs. I matted that on to red Miri board too. That red card came into play again with the Cheery Lynn doily die,  to add a bit of glitz to the top left corner, tucked just behind the image. I finished off the design with some Card Candi in Regal Ruby which matches the Mirri board perfectly. The large square card blank is by Joanna Sheen.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

My Grafico - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime Challenge 5 - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Punches and Dies

I used a Craft UK large scalloped card blank. The red card is from Papermill and the patterned paper is by Payper Box. I used a Spellbinders grand nestie to cut the patterned paper. Whoopsi Daisy Lots of Layers

Thank you all for your kind wishes, my husband is home from hospital and is glad to be back in charge of the TV remote controls. He missed them when he was in hospital and didn't like their little screen!

Anyway, here is the first card I've made for a couple of weeks and it's for Whoopsi Daisy's Challenge of Lots of Layers. I used Sheet 346 for this image. She's a little cutie and you can buy her here.

I used a large scalloped card blank by Craft UK. The pink card is from Papermill and the turquoise pearlescent is from Payper Box. I rounded the corners on the pink card with my Carl corner rounder and the turquoise card was cut with a Spellbinders grand scalloped square nestie. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and after cutting with another Spellbinders nestie I coloured the edges with 'Peacock Feathers' Distress Ink. I set it against another two die cuts in pink and turquoise, the pink paper was a freebie in a magazine and the other was from Costco. The beautiful flowers are from Nataliya's Etsy shop and the ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop. Some Card Candi completed the design. I'm sorry that I'm not completely satisfied with this card but at least it's got me back into crafting.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

#117 For the man in your life

The theme of this challenge over at One Stitch at a Time is 'For the man in your life'. I've made this as an anniversary card and it could be used for male or female. The image is 'Waiting for You' by Priyanka over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and then tore round the edges before inking them with Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade. The wings of the fairies were made with fusible film and I burnt my craft room carpet when doing them! I switched my travel iron on and got the wings ready between some sheets of paper , on the floor! I noticed that the iron had a green mark on it after I'd ironed for a few seconds, doh! It was my carpet. Fortunately it isn't an expensive carpet, it's only a cord one - now with a patch of burnt fibres!! lol I've had suggestions from cyber friends to cover it with a butterfly or a flower, etc. That won't work, so I'll just have to admit to my folly when I get visitors to my room. Now, back to my card  - the backing paper is from my favourite First Editions pad Hideaway. It's a beautiful glitter paper and is matted on to tan coloured card from Papermill. I used the same card to cut the Marianne die leaves. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I generated the sentiment on the computer and tore it and edged it as before. Four pieces of Card Candi are in the top left corner. My card blank is from Craft UK.

Our sponsor is Creative Craft World - check out the challenge blog for details of the prize structure.

Basketball Saturated Canary

I decided to colour another Saturated Canary image, I've become hooked on them, I knew I would! This one is for a boy and reminds me so much of when our sons were young and forever playing ball games. My card blank is a large square by Craft UK. I coloured him with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. While it was still in the die I used Distress Ink in Stormy Sky to colour the inside edge. I used backing paper that I've had for ages and it was from one of the shopping channels - I think QVC. The navy blue card used for the mat is from Papermill. I ripped two pieces of the navy card and added a length of Creative Expressions' baker's twine to each one before adding to the background. The LOTV sentiment is top left and that also had the edges smudged with Distress Ink. Three pieces of Card Candi finish off the design.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Creative Craft Challenges - Red, White and Blue
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge - Anything Goes
Lexi's Creations - For the Boy/Man in our Lives

The Crazy Challenge - Childhood Memories - mine are memories of my sons playing ball games in their childhood! Does that count?
My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges - Red, White and Blue

I've noticed that I've lost some of my followers - I'm so sorry if you were one of them and decided to forget me! I do try to keep up with you all but I know that I fail miserably. I don't seem to have enough hours in the day to catch up.  Thank you to all my faithful followers who come to visit whether I can visit them or not. I do appreciate each and every one, thank you.

Whoopsi Daisy Shape It

For this challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy I decided to make an easel card. I chose an image from sheet 339 and it's available to buy here. The easel is made from a 6 x 6 small square card blank from Craft UK. The backing papers are from Costco and they are matted on to red card from Papermill. I made a 'stop' with a strip of the navy card with a strip of red across the middle and finished it off with three pieces of Card Candi. I also used some shiney Card Candi in red for the corners. I coloured this trendy school girl with my Promarkers and edged the Spellbinders label with Distress Ink Barn Door. I used my new Spellbinders inverted scalloped die to cut a small square saying 'Hello' and this completed the design.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

I won this digi image from Sweet 'n' Sassy and had to use it because he's so cute. I used a small square card blank from Craft UK. I've had the backing paper for ages and I believe it's from Victoria and Albert. The black card is from Papermill. After I'd matted the paper to the black card I set it at an angle across the card blank. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and used a Sakura stardust pen for his eyes and his disc. My Spellbinders nesties came into use again. One piece of Blackjack Card Candi was added to the bottom corner.

The backing paper is from my stash and the lilac card is from Payper Box. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on a panel of the lilac card. One of the doileys from Nat's candy is also part of the background to the lovely image. I coloured her with Promarkers and then cut the image out with the Spellbinders rectangle nestie, adding the scalloped rectangle as the mat. I used two Spellbinders flourishes to the bottom and finished off the design of the card with some Card Candi at the top corners.

A rose for you

I used one of my little used CDs today to make this card. The CD is Card Plus Creations' Aroma Notes. I used the image of the large pink rose and matted it on to a bright pink doiley, cut with my Cheery Lynn die. The whole thing was then matted on to dark green (Ross Paper) and bright pink card (Papermill). I didn't want to use backing papers so as not to detract from the beautiful image of the rose. I used four pieces of Card Candi to complete this simple card. The card blank is a small square from Craft UK. There's a slight glimmer in the centre of the rose and that's from my flash photography - I will get it right one day.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Joanna Sheen - For Someone Special - it's for my niece
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Shapes - squares and circles

I coloured the Crafters Companion's Peter Rabbit images with Promarkers and cut them with Spellbinders oval nesties. I edged them with Distress Ink in Stormy Sky. I used three pieces of Card Candi in the bottom left and some of my Australian stock of white satin ribbon to complete the design.

#106 - Anything Goes

My card this week is using the digital images of the Flower Girl set from April, over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps. The theme at One Stitch of a Time is 'Anything Goes'.

I decided to make an easel card with the  picnic table and flower pot image. I used a sheet of tan card to shape the easel and the 'stop' strip. I coloured the image with Promarkers and added a red satin heart, from Create and Craft, to the heart on the pot. I filled the centre of the heart with red glitter. After I cut the image in to a rectangle I added Distress Ink to the edges. Three pieces of Card Candi are at each side of the image. The paper is from a First Edition pad, Hideaway. The 'stop' is made with the tan card and then a piece of orange ribbon is centred across it. The large image of the flower is also coloured with Promarkers and then I cut it out, very carefully, and centred it on the base. Some Diamond Dust is at the centre of the flower.

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen who is giving a £10 voucher to spend at her online store. To win this prize you MUST use a Stitchybear image.

We're also being sponsored by Stitchybear and this winner will get $3 to spend in the Stitchybear store.
