#122 Snowflake Butterfly

The theme for the challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes, a nice easy challenge for you. I used the digi 'Snowflake Butterfly' by Gert over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop.

The large square card blank is by Craft UK. The red backing card is by Papermill and the blue striped paper is from Papermania. I coloured the image with Promarkers and a white Sakura pen before cutting with a Spellbinders label die. I used some DecoArt Glamour Dust for the snow and the falling snowflakes on the digi. The silver card is all by Papermill and I used it for the frame of the image and for the two smaller Hobbycraft punched snowflakes. The large 'snowflake' is a Spellbinders motif and is cut in Papermania's silver handmade paper. The sentiment was generated on the computer and backed with more silver card before setting at an angle at the bottom left.

The sponsor this week is Stitchybear - please check the challenge blog for details of prize structure.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

Lollipop Crafts - Christmas in July
Crafty Sentiments - Christmas in July

I'm back

I've had a few days when I just wasn't up to making any cards or entering any challenges.  However, I've made the decision to stop making any more Christmas cards and buy some for this year. I had chosen a design that was taking up a lot of time - and money - I've got enough for family and close friends and all the others will get a bought card! The stress of HAVING to make them has gone and now I can nearly relax and try to catch up with the fun side of crafting.

This card is a Craft UK large square card blank and the navy blue card is from Papermill. The background scene is from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD. I used the digi image of a Tree from Ladybug Craft Ink and coloured the trunk with a brown Promarker before adding a Sakura gelly roll Stardust to the branches. I then touched the branches with a Quickie glue pen and added DecoArt Glamour Dust to give it a lovely wintry shimmer. I tore round the edges of the image and coloured them with Distress Ink in faded jeans colour. Two metal squares from WOC are in the top corners.

I'm entering it in to the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - Some metal
Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge 47 - Winter blues
Lollipop Crafts Challenge 58 - Anything Goes

Papertake Weekly - Christmas Cracker
The CD Sunday Challenge - Trees

Less is More Week 14

The LIM Challenge this week is White on White. I've attempted one but I might try to have another go at this one. The large square card blank is by Craft UK. The four corners and the centre piece are cut with my new Spellbinders Parisian Accents dies. The doiley is cut with a Cheery Lynn English Tea Party die. I stuck the corners with my Xyron and because there was sticky showing I sprinkled DecoArt Glamour Dust over them. A sticky backed pearl from Joanna Sheen is at the centre of the Parisian Accent focal point.
