IAAS Not square or oblong

This challenge was set by Jennie and I'm sure you'll enjoy joining in with us over at International Art and Soul, all we ask is that you don't make the usual square or oblong card.

I coloured the image of 'Fancy Free' by Barb over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps. I've had it for quite a few years so I'm not sure if it'll still be available. Anyway, I love her, and I coloured her with my Promarkers before cutting it with a large classic oval Spellbinders die. I used an A3 sheet of pearlescent pink to cut the Spellbinders large scalloped oval as the base card. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley and after I'd fussy cut it out I coloured the edge with a Sakura glitter pen and then backed it with pearlescent pink card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner - Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Always Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Digital Image
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting and thank you so much for any comments.

MAWTT Food and/or Drink

Come over to Moving Along with the Times and join us in the theme set by Sue B, of Food and/or drink. I love this image by Stitchy over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps so decided to go for this. The digi is called 'Please Drink Responsibly'. I have a few friends who would like this if they received it on their birthday.

My card blank is by Craft UK. I used two sheets from the DCWV foiled elegance card stock pads. Each sheet had a foiled corner and these were the bits that I wanted so I cut carefully round them. Once I had them cut I cut them again down the centre so that I had four sections as my background to the image. I'd coloured the image with my Promarkers before  cutting with the Spellbinders oval die and matting it on to a metallic red scalloped oval. I set the image across the four foiled corners and loved the effect - it doesn't take much to please me. lol

'Cheers' and 'Tea's Up' were generated on the computer, cut with the Spellbinders small oval die and matted on to red scalloped ovals. I placed them, one at each side, on raised pads.

I've just found out that Sue B will be leaving the MAWTT team and I'm so sorry. I'll miss you Sue because you always made time to comment and support me in whatever I did and for that I thank you. I hope I'll see you around but the best of luck for the future.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes

Thank you all for visiting.

MAWTT Come Dancing

This week it's my turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. I chose for my theme 'Come Dancing' and this is my card. Please pop over to the blog to see all of Team B's cards, they're all fantastic.

My base card is a 7x7 by UK Craft and the orange card is by Papermill. I embossed the white paper with a 'bows' embossing folder but I'm blowed if I can remember who made it, sorry. The embossed paper was matted on to the orange card and then I used a Sue Wilson die for the bottom fancy border. The two music dies are by Memory Box and I cut them in black card from Joanna Sheen. The dancing silhouette is by Stitchybear and is cut with a Spellbinders die. I used my new sentiment by Visible Image and cut with a smaller Spellbinder die, same shape as the silhouette, before edging with an orange Promarker. I raised it in the top corner and then all I had to do was add a few faux gems from JJD cards.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Always Anything Goes
Artistic Inspirations - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Always Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges - Girlie

Thanks for visiting and thank you for your comments.

OSAAT #212 use a Digi

This is my last card as a member of the Design Team of One Stitch at a Time. I've been here for three years and I thought it was time for a change otherwise I'll stagnate. I've enjoyed working with all the images and even more so with the DT - I'll miss you all.

The theme is Use a Digi and it was Jeanette's turn to choose an image for our mini team and she chose Hope Jacare's Swirly Owl Branch which is available to buy at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it into a rectangle and matted it on to dark brown card. The green backing paper is from a pad by First Edition called Hideaway. That was also matted on to the dark brown Papermill card. I used a Tattered Lace owl die to cut an owl in beige paper and then matted that on to a dark brown oval, cut with a Spellbinders die. I cut a narrow strip of the brown card to set across the bottom of the card and then decided to mirror the swirly branch in the image by using a Marianne swirl die. I used this on my last challenge card too - it gets used a lot! Well worth the money. The oval with the owl was raised on foam pads. The only embellishments then were three pieces of dark brown spotty Card Candi.

Please check out the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Digi Makeover Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Design - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
4Kraftygirlz Challenge - Anything Goes
The House that Stamps Built -  Repeat Impressions DCC57 - Bird Watching
Whimsy Inspires - Two or more diecuts

Thank you for supporting me over the past three years - please continue to support me in Blogland. I'm still a member of the MAWTT DT and coming up shortly I have more exciting news.

MAWTT - Easter/Spring

This week the host of the Moving Along with the Times challenge is Sue and she chose the theme 'Easter or Spring'.

The small card blank is by Craft UK. The image is a digi, available over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I coloured it with my Promarkers and then cut it with my Xcut guillotine and matted it on to bright orange card by Papermill. I added a little bit of glitz by colouring the centre of the flowers with a Sakura  Gelly Roll pen. The backing paper is from a pad by Kate Knight called Spring Fling. I matted that on to the orange card too. I added some faux gems by JJD Cards. A CAS card which I enjoyed making.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #203 - For a Boy

This week I had to choose a Coosty Creations digi and I chose the Lizard Stamp and Papers Set - I only used one of the papers out of the four. You can buy this wonderful set at the Stitchybear Dig Outlet.

The theme this week at One Stitch at a Time is 'For a Boy' and I think only boys would have a lizard as a pet! I did enjoy colouring him with my Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens. I cut him out with a Spellbinders Wonky Square nestie and edged it with Distress Ink in Forest Moss and then cut another two wonky squares out of the lizard skin patterned papers. I matted some Kraft coloured card on to some dark brown card and these were both from Papermill. I edged it with the Forest Moss Distress Ink and then using two Promarkers in green and tan I used a spritzer to mottle the background. I tied some Ikea twine round the card before mounting it with foam pads on to the Joanna Sheen card blank.  The computer generated sentiment was also cut with a Spellbinders die and edged with the Distress Ink.

The prize this week is $9 to spend in the Stitchy store but please check the OSAAT blog for full details of the prizes.

OSAAT #202 Anything Goes

Anything Goes is the theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time so I'm pretty sure you'll come along and join us. It was Josephine's turn to choose an image for four of the DT to use and she chose Poppy by Stitchy at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I love this silhouette image and I cut it out using a Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangle die. I matted that on to a panel of red Papermill card that I embossed with a Crafter's Companion embossailicious folder. The red and white backing paper I've had for about ten years (!!) and I think it's from Papermill too. I matted the paper on to more red card and then the red panel and poppy were set to the left of the base mat. I used a Spellbinders Parisian motif die for the fancy border down the right side - I've used this border loads of times and love it. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen. Shock and horror - I didn't use my Promarkers on this card. Aaahhh.

The prize is seven images from the Stitchybear Digi Outlet but please check the OSAAT blog for more details of the prize structure.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #201 - Girly

Come and join us at One Stitch at a Time for the challenge set this week which has a Girly theme. I chose the image Dragonfly/Waterlily by Craftygirl over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

My card blank is a large scalloped square by Craft UK. The pink and turquoise card is by Papermill and I embossed the pink card with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of butterflies. I rounded the corners of the turquoise card with a Carl corner punch and cut the pink with a Spellbinders grand scalloped nestie. The image was coloured mainly with my Promarkers though I did use a Sakura glitter pen on the dragonfly to give it a sheen. I then cut it out with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. I gave a shadow to the image and round the edge of the oval with an ivory coloured Promarker. The turquoise ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and the little wooden dragonfly, once again coloured with the Sakura pen, is from Create and Craft.

The sponsor this week is Stitchy with 7 digis but do check out the OSAAT blog to get full details of the prizes on offer.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Moving Along with the Times - Birthday Boys

This week it's Susan's turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. She also chose the theme - Birthday Boys - so here is my card.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The mat is blue Mirri board from Joanna Sheen, dark red card from Papermill and then an embossed sheet of grey card from Papermill. The embossing folder is by Crafter's Companion. The image is by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I coloured Toby with Promarkers and cut him with a Spellbinders nestie, matting it on to blue Miiri board. I used another Spellbinders die to cut a resplendent rectangle which I criss crossed with baker's twine from Creative Expressions. I added a ruby red Card Candi to each corner and then finished it all off with a Happy Birthday sentiment that I generated on the computer before cutting with yet another Spellbinders die.

I have to go to the dentist this morning so I'll be round to visit all the DT later and I'll link up to the challenges later too.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #174 - Anything Goes

Anything Goes this week! Hurray - everyone's favourite theme. Come and join us over at One Stitch at Time. It was time for Josephine to pick an image for the two of us to use and she chose Claire's Christmas Rooftop. You can get this at the Hope Jacare section of the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I coloured the image with Promarkers, using Distress Ink on the sky. The stars were glittered with Sakura's diamond gelly roll pen. The pen adds just the right amount of glimmer to the stars. The snow on the roof and the window sill is done with Floracraft's diamond dust and a touch of glue. The card blank is by Craft UK and the beige card is by Papermill. I printed a sheet of gold/silver stars from a free download site and matted it on to the beige card. I cut the image with a Spellbinders die and matted that on to the beige card too. I placed it to the top left on the design and added a silver Christmas tree, cut with a Memory Box die, to the panel on the right.

A small neat card which won't cost too much for postage.

The winner of this week's challenge will win all the images that the design team used on challenge 172 - lots of beautiful images so you must check out the OSAAT challenge blog to see how you can win.

OSAAT #173 - Favourite Things

This is my card for the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time - Favourite Things. I've used my favourite things: flowers, dies and ribbon plus some faux gems, not forgetting glitter card!

My image this week is by Alipeeps over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet and it's called Spring Flowers. I printed it on to another of my favourites, ivory pearlescent paper by Papermill. I coloured it with Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinder grand nestie circle. I used Distress Ink on the edges so that it would stand out against the Hideway glitter paper from a pad by First Edition. That paper was matted on to bright orange card by Papermill. The card blank is a large cream square by Craft UK. I used my latest Memory Box die, Bella Bouquet, to cut the flowers which were also coloured with Promarkers. The orange satin ribbon is the last of my orange ribbon from Australia. I generated the sentiment on the computer and matted that on to orange card before adding some faux gems from JJD Cards.

The sponsor this week is Creative Craft World with 3 Promarkers for the winner. Please check out the OSAAT blog for details of prizes.

OSAAT #172 - Use a Digi

The theme at One Stitch at a Time this week is 'Use a Digi' so come along and join us. It was my turn to choose for me and my team mate Josephine and I decided to choose 'Bah Humbug' by Stitchy over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. This will be my first Christmas card for this year.

The card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I found a copyright free image of roof tiles on the internet and matted that on to Papermill dark blue card which acted as night time sky! It still had a few Memory Box clouds showing in the sky. I used Distress Ink to give a gentle tinge to the edges of the clouds. The sentiment was generated on the computer and I cut it with an X cut large die. The image was coloured with Promarkers and his belt and boots are covered with Sakura's 3D crystal lacquer to make them look glossy. I cut him out by hand leaving a very small white border. He's raised on 3D pads to give depth to the design.

Please check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes.

OSAAT #171 - Fold It

Here I am with another design team card for the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time. The theme this week is Fold It so we need to see folds in your card or papers. I had to choose one of Jane's images - under Coosty Creations, over at Stitchybear Digital Outlet. I eventually chose the Purrfect Paper Pack and in it you get four papers and the image of the sleeping cat. I love cats and it was no hardship for me having to colour this one. I thought, at this point, you might want to see my cats so here they are. I have two tortoiseshell females, Casey is the black tortie and Gracie is the white one.

Check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes.

I used a Joanna Sheen large square card blank and the orange card mat is from Papermill. I coloured the cat image with Promarkers and used a Spellbinders grand nestie to cut it out. I printed two of the papers, the same one, and after fixing the oval to the top of one sheet I concertina folded the second sheet and affixed it under the image. It looks to me as if the cat is lying on a blanket on a shelf (do you think?). I used a Darice embossing folder to emboss a strip of white card and I used Distress Ink to pick out the paws. I then cut out the smaller paws and added those to the panel down the left side. I added faux gems to the top right and bottom left of the paper. I bought these from JJD Cards at Bluewater Craft Fair last year.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

OSAAT #170 - Anything Goes

The theme this week at One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes. It was Josephine's turn to pick for the two of us to use this week. She chose Ocean Blue Paper Pack 2 by Oase of Panda Bear over at Stitchybear Digital Outlet and to go with these wonderful papers she chose the image, Ocean Floor, by Stitchy.

The card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I chopped the front of the large 8x8 square card and covered it with the rolling seas paper, using a strip down the outside edge of the card. My idea was to give you the feeling that the mermaid is at the bottom of these rolling waves. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and used a Sakura diamond pen to add some sheen to the tail, fin and hair of the mermaid. I cut round the image and used Distress Ink round the edges. A Memory Box die, Loopy Rings, cut in silver lightweight card, act as bubbles. I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with my brand new Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangle which arrived in the post this morning! This was also given some Distress Ink treatment.

Please check the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

OSAAT #168 Use a Digi

Thank you all for continuing to visit me even though my posts are few and far between. I had a lovely two weeks staying with my son and daughter in law in Kent. I had my first house viewers earlier this week but, unfortunately, they have not put an offer in for my house. Keep your fingers crossed for more viewers please.

This week's theme over at One Stitch at a Time is 'Use a Digi'. I chose Two Kittens by Barb over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I used the image of the kitten stretching and there's another of the kitten sitting.

Please check the challenge blog for details of prizes.

My card blank is a large square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the kitten with my Promarkers and then cut it, on an angle, with one of my new X Cut large dies. The black card is by Papermill and the grey patterned paper is by Payper Box. I added a black organza ribbon, from Joanna Sheen, across the bottom and then added some bling to the centre of the ribbon. The bling was from our very good friend Nataliya. All I had to do then was add some Card Candi to the top right and bottom left. After I'd 'finished' it I thought it needed something else so I made a little Happy Birthday sentiment in a bright red font and cut it with one of the tiny dies that I bought a few weeks ago from Joanna Sheen - cheap sets but I have no idea who makes them.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Scrap it Girl Challenge - Use your dies
The Cupboard Trilogy - Birthdays
Divas by Design - Happy Birthday
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge - Birthday
Lady Anne's Challenge - Stamp - rubber or digi

Thanks for coming by and I hope to see you all again soon.

OSAAT #165 - Make it Stitchy

The theme for this week at One Stitch at a Time is 'Make it Stitchy'. This is very exciting because it's a mega competition. To take part in this challenge you MUST use any digi from the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. There'll be lots of prizes so please come along and join us.

I'm using one of Luke's images - Adventure Kid, Sword and he's available to buy at the Stitchybear Digital Outlet.

I used a small, 6x6, square card blank from Joanna Sheen. The red card is from Papermill and the backing paper is a freebie that I got in a magazine. I coloured the image with my trusty Promarkers and cut him with a Spellbinders label die, matting it on to the larger die cut in red. I made two little swords with silver and brown metallic looking card and added one to the bottom. The other I used to 'stab' the Happy Birthday sentiment, which I'd generated on the computer, cut with a die with no name and edged with a vanilla Promarker. The only thing left to add was a little red star button from Create and Craft.

When you read this I'll be staying with my son and daughter in law in Kent so I won't be along to visit you but I hope that you all have fun in this super, mega challenge.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Card Mania CMC - Spots and/or Stripes

OSAAT #164 - Use a Digi

The challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time is Use a Digi and I'm sure you'll be able to fulfil this challenge! Come and join us and you might be lucky enough to win the images used by he design team on challenge 162. Check out the challenge blog to see the prize structure.

For this week's card I had to choose the image for me and for Josephine and I hope she likes the image I chose - it's Rustic Bench by Tami of Ginger Loft over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

My card blank is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it with one of my new X Cut large dies. After cutting I used Distress Inks on the edges and then matted it on to a Spellbinders grand nestie label in dark green card by Papermill. I embossed a square of white paper with a Crafters Companion embossalicious folder and matted that on to more dark green Papermill card. I then affixed the image mat on to the embossed panel. It still looked a little bare but I don't like anything too fussy so I sat and thought about it for a while. I eventually decided to use my new Memory Box die 'Summer Border' with white card. Once again I used my Promarkers, to colour the little flowers, and Distress Ink before adding it to the bottom edge of the white panel. I think it looks quite cute.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
LEJ Designs Challenge - Borders and/or corners
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT #159 - Bright

The theme for this week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time is 'Bright'. My designer this week was Jess and I chose the image 'Floral Cap Nouveau W' and it's available to buy at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store. You can buy other letters but my daughter in law is Wendy and as she is very artistic I thought she would appreciate this image on her birthday card this year. The 'bright' theme also helped because her favourite colour is orange and that's pretty bright!! My favourite colour is green so that had to be in there too.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I used Papermill green card and Papermill orange card as the mat for the image. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie. The beautiful image didn't really need much in the way of embellishments so I only added some flat 'gem' stickers to the corners - they are from JJD Cards. I also added a green ribbon to the bottom and that's from the local market. Job done and it's all ready for Wendy's birthday in July!

The sponsor for this week's challenge is Stitchybear. Please check the challenge blog for prize details.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
LEJ Designs Challenge - Show us your Ribbons

OSAAT #155 - White on White OR No Designer Papers

The challenge over at One Stitch at a Time this week is White on White (or no designer papers). I made a birthday card for my friend so I hope she likes it. I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The embossed backing paper is made with a Crafters Companion Embossalicious folder.  The image I got to use this week is Butterfly Fields by Tami of Gingerloft over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store. There are two images in the set. After I'd decided which image to use I printed it on to paper and it looked quite stark against all the white. I printed it again, this time on vellum from Create and Craft, and it's much more muted and suited to the embellishments. I cut it with my Spellbinders grand oval nestie and matted it on to the embossed sheet. The butterflies are cut with Spellbinders dies and the leaves are cut with Memory box dies. The large butterfly is set in the centre of another Spellbinder shape, the butterfly small nestie. I'm on a roll because this is the third card in a row that I'm actually pleased with so things are looking up!

The sponsor is Stitchybear but please check out the challenge blog for full details of prizes.

Now that this card is about to be scheduled on my blog my friend's birthday has been and gone and she LOVED her card!

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Artistic Impressions Challenge 32 - Flowers
Bunny Zoe's Monthly Challenge - Girly
My Grafico - Anything Goes
LEJ Designs - Things with Wings
Oldie but a Goodie Challenge - Feeling Floral with my oldie - butterfly die
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes
Lady Anne's Challenge - Anything Goes
Flutter By Wednesday Challenge - Any winged creature
Happy Campers Challenge - Flutterby Butterfly

I notice that I've lost one of my followers. :(    I've had 151 for so long that I'd just become used to seeing the same number over and over again. Is it because my crafting has slowed down? I'm sorry that I'm not so prolific in my posts as I once was but I hope to get back into it at some point in the future. It's taking longer than I imagined but thank you to all my faithful followers who post on almost every card with some positive comment.
