International Art and Soul- Monochrome

Come and join us with our challenge of Monochrome over at International Art and Soul - the first challenge of 2020.

I made a card with this sentiment just a few months ago but I decided to make another as I love this sentiment so much.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK and the red card is by Sue Wilson, the dark red card is by Hobbycraft. I embossed the red card with a Crafters' Companion embossalicious folder before matting it on to the dark red. I printed the sentiment on the computer and then cut it with a Spellbinder oval die. I used another Spellbinder die for the dark red mount for the sentiment. The butterfly die is by Joanna Sheen and I cut it in the dark red card and then added red mirri card behind each butterfly. The butterflies now look as if they have glistening wings. I set them to the left of the sentiment.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
A Bit More to Craft - Anything Goes
A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

IAAS The Natural World

Come along and join us at International Art and Soul and show us what you can do with the theme of 'The Natural World'.

My card blank is by Craft UK and the background paper I've had printed and in my 'green drawer' for months but I can't remember where I got it from, sorry. It's green Mirri card down the left and the image was also matted on to Mirri card but in a silvery bronze colour. The image was from the Jayne Netley Mayhew CD from Joanna Sheen. The little green pearls were from Hobbycraft. The large gem in the corner of the image is by Recollections and I bought them in Michael's in Florida.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

2 Crafty Critter Crazies - Anything Goes with a critter
A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Creates and Makes - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting, I hope you visit again soon.

IAAS Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau is the theme for this challenge at International Art and Soul and it was set by Jane. Please pop over and see what the Design Team have made - and maybe join us?

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK. The image is taken from an Art Nouveau book that Eric bought for me many years ago. It has a CD enclosed and I'm allowed to use each image a total of ten times. Well, there are hundreds of images in the book and on the CD and I've only used two images so far, this is my third. The book is Art Nouveau Designs by The Pepin Press, Agile Rabbit Editions. After printing the image I cut it with a Spellbinders classic die and edged with Distress Ink. I used a piece of green Mirri card matted on to Sue Wilson's cinnamon foundation card as the mat for the image. Using more of the cinnamon card I used Joanna Sheen's Art Nouveau mirror corner dies which set off the image beautifully.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Moving Along with the Times - Purple Haze

This week the theme of the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times was set by Jan Small. Come along and join us as I'm sure it's a theme that you will all love - Purple Haze, which means you can use as many shades of purple as you wish.

This is the first time I've used one of my 7 x 7 cards, by Craft UK, that I bought at Ally Pally in September! I used Crafter's Companion purple card as the base mat and then embossed a pale lilac pearlised card, from I know not where, with a CC embossalicious folder. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and she is by Saturated Canary. After cutting into a rectangle I edged with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. The fancy scroll at the bottom is a lace die by Sue Wilson and the banner and number 2 are both by Joanna Sheen. They are cut in bright purple Mirri card.

My eyes are much improved, not perfect but I can just about live with them like this, thank you all for your best wishes.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart - Always Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Always Anything Goes
Crafting with Dragonflies - Birthday Card

MAWTT Happy Birthday

It's almost the sixth birthday of Moving Along with the Times so we'd like to see lots of Happy Birthday cards.

This isn't a very good photograph as the sky was overcast and the white board behind the card looks blue. The birthday card itself is actually lilac though. lol

I've used a Joanna Sheen card blank and the pale lilac pearlescent card is by Payper Box. I matted the lilac card on to purple Mirri card and wrapped a length of lilac lace ribbon round the bottom. The purple frame in the middle is my new Portugese die by Sue Wilson. I coloured the pansy image with my Promarkers and cut it out, leaving a small white border round the edge. I offset it to the left of the frame and then added a Happy Birthday scroll that I've had for years. Three Mei Flower lilac gems were added to each of the top corners.

I'm sorry to say that after my first lot of injections my eyes aren't as good as I'd hoped. They are definitely better than they were but I'm still not able to read or watch TV. Every day they are open for most of the morning but then for the rest of the day that's it! :(

If I need to do shopping or visit my sister in her Care Home then I have to go in the morning so that I can see to drive. At least the improvement is lasting long enough for me to get to the Care Home and back. I have another two months to wait before my next set of injections and I'm wishing my life away by counting down the days.

The MAWTT cards are the only cards I'm making because I just can't keep my eyes open long enough to craft for any decent length of time. It also takes me ages to add the relevant post to my blog because I keep making mistakes and then have to go back. I'm a touch typist too so that doesn't bode well. lol

Inspiration Destination Challenge 7

This week I have two cards to show you for our Anything Goes Challenge, number 7, over at Inspiration Destination.

We have two sponsors this week, Digital Delights and Sherri Baldy.

This first card shows you the Jack in the Box by Digital Delights (he's actually called Peeking Ginger Baby but I think he looks like a Jack in the Box lol) and I decided to make an easel card with him.

I coloured him with Promarkers and then cut him out very carefully. My Joanna Sheen card blank was folded for the easel and then red Papermill card and a printed backing paper were added as the backing. I used a Cheery Lynn die to cut the doily in Mirri card and set the Jack in the Box against the doily. The starbursts were perfect for this card and they are ny Joanna Sheen again, from her Signature range of dies. I cut it in three different colours and added those to the easel. The 'waste' stars were added to the base of the easel and the sentiment, as the stop, was generated on the computer.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - Anything Goes (Christmas)
Creative Corner Challenge - It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas
QKR Stampede - Let's Talk Christmas
Crafty Calendar Challenge - It's All About Christmas
Jellypark Challenge - Merry Christmas
That Craft Place - Anything Goes
Artistic Inspirations Challenge - Anything Goes/Stars

This is my second card using this image, Image 152 - I called Cupcake, from Sherri Baldy

I used a small square card blank by Craft UK. The backing paper is from a pad by Papercraft Essentials and is matted on to pink Papermill card. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it out with a Spellbinders classic oval die and matted it on to the scalloped oval in pink. The pink organza ribbon is by Joanna Sheen and the sentiment is from a sheet of sayings by Inkadinkado called 'Tell it like it is'. The little cupcake image, which was a freebie stamp in a magazine, was coloured with Promarkers and I added some Floracraft's Diamond Dust for frosting on top.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Catch the Bug Challenge - Show us your Food

Another one for fun

Today after doing my ironing I decided to make a card. I'm so pleased that I'm eventually getting back into my crafting, I enjoy it so much once I get going.

My image is Tropical Masquerade by Delicious Doodles and you can buy it at the Delicious Doodles shop.

I enjoyed colouring the image, though it's not perfect by any means. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen and so is the purple Mirri card. The two backing papers are by Papermania. I used the purple Mirri card to cut two Marianne die swirls. I bought the little masks, I think they might have been from The Works, probably a year ago and this is the first time I've used one. My Promarkers were used for the image as per usual.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles Challenge - For the love of animals
A Creative Romance Challenge - Girly Creations
Crafty Catz Challenge - Anything Goes
Left of Center Challenge - Girly

I want to thank all those followers who come and comment on my cards regularly when I just haven't felt able to reciprocate. I'm hoping that once I get settled into a new home, with my son and daughter in law, and have everything sorted out I'll feel able to slip into a routine.

Thank you all.

MAWTT I'm Dreamin' of a White Christmas

This week come along and join us at Moving Along with the Times for our challenge of 'I'm Dreamin' of a White Christmas'. This was the theme set by our big boss Hazel (Didos). I made my card and then discovered that it really should have been white on white but my silver bits were allowed! I was just thinking of dreaming and white Christmas, doh!

My card blank is a small Craft UK card and the silver glitter paper is from a Papermania pad. I embossed a sheet of white paper with a Provocraft embossing folder and matted it on to the silver glitter. I used a very fine strip of the glitter paper across the card and topped it with a snowflake button from Create and Craft. The sentiment is from LOTV and it's embossed with silver powder before being centred on to a Spellbinders die cut in silver Mirri board.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - Glitter, Glitter everywhere
Hobbybook Designer Challenge - Add a sentiment
Little Red Wagon - Seeing Spots

Thanks for visiting.

OSAAT # 204 - Use a Digi

The theme this week is Use a Digi so I'm sure we'll have lots of entries, come and join us. We're at One Stitch at a Time and I chose the image, Mushroom 2, from Scrapper's Delights for myself and three of my team buddies. Check out the Stitchybear Digi Outlet for details of this image and many more.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and I heat embossed the mushroom spots with bronze embossing powder. I cut the image with a Spellbinders grand square nestie and edged it with Distress Inks before matting it on to bronze Mirri board. The glittered backing paper is from a First Edition pad called Desert Blooms and that was also matted on to bronze Mirri board. The mat was added to the Joanna Sheen card blank and the image took pride of place, The only embellishment was a bronze Spellbinders flourish. I love this card.

The prize this week will be images used by the DT but please check the OSAAT blog for details.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
The Crafty Bloggers Network - Nature
Melonheadz Friends Challenge - Bright Colours

My second fun card this week!

This is one of the images I coloured earlier this week and I've just managed to finish this card this afternoon. I can't believe that this is my second card this week and just because I wanted to make them. The image is called Maid of the Riverbank by Delicious Doodles.

The card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from a huge pack I bought at Costco a few years back. I used a Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle on the backing paper before matting on to bright green Mirri board. I coloured most of the image with Sakura gelly roll pens because it gives the mermaid's tail, shells and hair a beautiful shimmer. Promarkers were used for the skin, otter and plants. The leaves were cut with a Memory Box Fresh Foliage die in two shades of green card. The corner is also a Memory Box die called Madera Corner.

I generated the sentiment on the computer and cut it with another die - I think it's from one of the cheap nestie sets that I have in my stash.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

4kraftygirlz challenges - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Anything Goes
Delightful Challenges - Wearing of Green
DL Art Challenges - Uplifting sentiment of at least 5 words

MAWTT - Make Box and Decorate it

This WAS a challenge for me so I hope you can come along and join us at Moving Along with the Times this week  and you can be challenged too! lol It was Karina's turn to host the challenge and set the theme. When I saw the theme my heart missed a beat. Oh, my goodness, I've made card boxes but I've never made a little gift box or decorated it. I don't have a box maker so I had to use my brain - a difficult feat. This was the third attempt and it worked out pretty well, though I do say so myself. I don't usually use blue very much, it's not one of my favourite colours, but the deep turquoise card was the one I pulled out of the 'blue' drawer so it ended up in turquoise and royal blue.

It's roughly four inches by two inches deep. I used card from Papermill, Mirri board from Joanna Sheen and lace from the local market. The dies that I used are Memory Box Flowering Vine to go round the sides and Fresh Foliage to add to the flowers on the top. The flowers were a present from a crafting buddy, Nataliya. The doily, cut in royal blue Mirri board, is a Marianne die and the large gems are from Create and Craft. I gave the box a light dusting of turquoise glitter over the top and that looks quite pretty.

Thanks, Karina, you certainly set a challenge for me but I did eventually get to enjoy it.

I'm entering my box into the following challenges:
Craft My Life All Crafts - Anything BUT a card
Melonheadz Friends Challenge - Bright Colours
Deep Ocean Challenge - Lace and Pearls
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Delicious Doodles - Anything but a Card

Moving Along with the Times - Fantasy

Vicky is the hostess this week at Moving Along with the Times and she chose as the theme 'Fantasy'.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The purple Mirri card is also from JS, the blue card and the mottled lilac card, both in the mat, are by Papermill. When I heard the theme was to be Fantasy I thought I would struggle but then I remembered that I had the Enchanted Dreams CD by Joanna Sheen so I delved into the CD - the first time for more than a year that I've used a CD in crafting. After choosing the image I mounted it on to the purple Mirri card and set it in the top left corner. I used Memory Box dies, Fresh Foliage and Loopy Rings, to sort of' echo some of the images in the scene . I thought this card would be good for any number of occasions - even a Valentine card as the girl in the image is blowing a kiss. I also added some flowers that I've had for the last few years but I'm blowed if I can remember the name of them and there's no name on the boxes! They have glittered buttons, like Fruit Pastilles, in the centres. I'm sure someone will be able to remind me.

Do come along and join us and check out the wonderful cards made by Team B of the MAWTT design team.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Through the Purple Haze - Anything Goes
Die Cuttin Divas Challenge - Non Traditional Valentine with die cut
Fan-Tastic Tuesdays - Romance
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge - For the one I love
LEJ Designs - Valentine/Love
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Moving Along with the Times - Birthday Boys

This week it's Susan's turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. She also chose the theme - Birthday Boys - so here is my card.

I used a large square card blank by Joanna Sheen. The mat is blue Mirri board from Joanna Sheen, dark red card from Papermill and then an embossed sheet of grey card from Papermill. The embossing folder is by Crafter's Companion. The image is by April of Reece's Scrap Pieces over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I coloured Toby with Promarkers and cut him with a Spellbinders nestie, matting it on to blue Miiri board. I used another Spellbinders die to cut a resplendent rectangle which I criss crossed with baker's twine from Creative Expressions. I added a ruby red Card Candi to each corner and then finished it all off with a Happy Birthday sentiment that I generated on the computer before cutting with yet another Spellbinders die.

I have to go to the dentist this morning so I'll be round to visit all the DT later and I'll link up to the challenges later too.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges - No Designer Paper
A Gem of a Challenge - One for the Boys
My Sheri Crafts - Use a Digi

Thanks for coming by and leaving your comments. They're all very much appreciated.

OSAAT #195 - Starting New

'Starting New' is the theme for this week over at One Stitch at a Time. That means it can be a card for any 'new' occasion, baby, birthday, anniversary or you could use a new technique or even a new craft item that you received at Christmas - the options are many so please come along and join us.

My image is called 'Butterfly Profile' and is by Alipeeps over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet.

I coloured her with my Promarkers and added some Sakura glitter with touches of different colours on the wings of the butterflies. I cut the image with a Spellbinders label die and backed it with bronze Mirri board from Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from Payper Box and that is also matted on to bronze Mirri board. I used my new Tattered Lace die of the butterfly and flourishes. I used handmade paper by Indus and it's called Brown Lotka. It was incredibly difficult to separate the image from the die and then to get it stuck on to the card was a feat in itself. Maybe next time I use the die I will use a heavier weight of paper or even card. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen.

Please check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes on offer.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

OSAAT #180 - Use a Digi

Come and join us at One Stitch at a Time for this week's challenge - number 180, Use a Digi. It was my turn to choose an image for my team buddies, Josephine and Shell so I hope they like the image I chose. It's called Steampunk and it's by BBKakes over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. You can choose to use the image with or without a frame but I like the framed one.(It's good to have a choice!)

My card is a large ivory coloured square by Craft UK. The purple card is from Papermill and the black Mirri board is by Joanna Sheen. I embossed them both with a Cuttlebug folder of Cogs. I set the two embossed panels at an angle and after colouring the image with my Promarkers I cut it round the frame and centred it over the two panels. I coloured the iris of her eyes, hoping that it would look as if she had those weird coloured contact lenses in but they just look odd to me! Never mind, I tried. I used the cogs from a sheet of steampunk stamps by Sue over at Joanna Sheen. I embossed them with silver embossing powder and cut them out very carefully. I decoupaged them over the cogs at the bottom left corner of the image and then embossed another set and put them in the top right to balance the design a bit more. I used black teardrop gems top left and bottom right. A clock charm completed the design and I tied that up with some black silk as the final embellishment. The gems are from Create and Craft but I can't remember where I bought the clock charm, sorry.

Please check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of prizes.

OSAAT #175 - In the Summer

The theme this week, over at One Stitch at a Time, is 'In the Summer'. I chose April's 'A Buggy', at Reece's Scrap Pieces at Stitchybear Digital Outlet.

Yikes, I thought - how do I make this image fit the theme? As it turned out it I didn't find it too hard to imagine that it was my holiday buggy all packed and ready to go holiday in the sun. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie. After cutting I used Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade for the edges. The blank card base is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen and the bronze Mirri card is also from JS. I matted the First Editions, Hideway, glitter paper on to the tan Mirri card as the mat. The circular diecuts in the bottom left are by Marianne Creatables and the one in the top right is the centre of the same die. I then used my Whimsy pennant die to make the bunting which I strung together with orange silk and added the word Fun in red with my Whispers fine pen. I also added Sun 1 to the number plate on the buggy - I hope that's acceptable and not seen as altering the digi. :(  The lights were 'coloured' with a Sakura gelly roll pen, diamond, to give a hint of glass perhaps? Once the elements were all put together it looked OK and I think it passes muster.

The prizes can all be checked on the OSAAT blog - please come and join and check them out.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #169 - Not Square

Well, I'm home from my break in Kent and raring to go with my DT cards again. This one, though, was a pain to photograph. I'm not a photographer and had a heck of a job trying to get a reasonable shot of this one, with no Eric to help me.

This week the theme at One Stitch at a Time is Not Square so I made an easel card. The image is Boxer by Sue of Beary Dust over at the Stitchybear Digital Outlet. He's got such a cute little face and looks so sad but I bet he causes havoc when let loose! I made the card for my son Peter and he's already received it so it's quite safe to post it on here now! He did say that he thought I'd gone senile and written on the front of the card - until he realised which way it folded.

I coloured him with my Promarkers, cut him with a Spellbinders nestie and edged that with Distress Ink before matting on to black pearlescent card from Papermill. The backing paper on the base and the side panel is from Costco and that was matted on to black Mirri card. I generated the sentiment on the computer and matted that on to black Mirri card too to make the stopper for the easel. I used three buttons, kennel, woof and dog as embellishments and they were all from Create and Craft.

Check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prize structure.

OSAAT # 158 - Anything Goes

The theme this week at One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes. It was Josephine's turn to pick an image for the two of us to use and she chose the Fuchsia and Hummingbird image by Teri over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store. Isn't it beautiful? I decided to go with the cerise/lilac fuchsia but there are many more colours that you could use.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then carefully cut round the outside edge. I matted it on to some bronze pearlescent card by Papermill which, in turn, was matted on to cerise Mirri board. The card blank is a large 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. I used my Spellbinders Paris motif fancy border and added it to the bottom edge. The only thing to add then were the three pink pearls at the top right and three lilac pearls at the bottom left. The pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The sponsor this week is Stitchybear and check out the challenge blog for full details. Someone will win all the digis used by the DT on challenge 156!!!

OSAAT #154 Anything Goes

The theme this week over at One Stitch at a Time is the easiest of all - Anything Goes. Come along and join us and you will be in with the chance of winning all the digi images used by the design team on challenge 152.

Josephine, my DT buddy, chose the image for the two of us this week and she chose Ike's Geranium Basket. You can buy Ike's wonderful images from the Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop.

Of course, I used my Promarkers to colour the image, cut it with a Spellbinders grand circle nestie and edged it with Barn Door Distress Ink. I matted it on to a red Mirri board scalloped nestie. The spotty backing paper is from a book of papers I got free in a magazine and it's by Raspberry Road Designs. I matted that on to red Miri board too. That red card came into play again with the Cheery Lynn doily die,  to add a bit of glitz to the top left corner, tucked just behind the image. I finished off the design with some Card Candi in Regal Ruby which matches the Mirri board perfectly. The large square card blank is by Joanna Sheen.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

OSAAT #150 - Anything Goes

Anything Goes is the challenge this week over at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog so come along and join us.

I was given the Serenity pack of papers by Oase, Panda Bear Designs, at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop for this week's card. A beautiful pack of papers and I was spoilt for choice. I eventually settled on the Tranquil paper and I didn't need to add much in the way of embellishments because the paper works alone. I printed it to fit an 8x8 card with a panel at the side for border and ribbon. After the sheet was printed I matted it on to gold Mirri card and set it to the right hand side of the Craft UK card blank. I had printed two sheets off and on one sheet I cut out the flowers in top left and bottom right corners and then decoupaged them to give depth to the design. In the panel to the left I added a gold Spellbinders border die - I think it's from the Parisian motifs set. A cream satin ribbon from my Australian stash also went into the panel and then all I had to add were some pearls, from Wild Orchid Crafts, to the top right and bottom left of the Tranquil paper.

Our own Stitchybear is the sponsor this week but check out the challenge blog for full details.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - Ribbon/Bows
