Fitztown - Altered Item

I did have fun with this one! This is the challenge this week at Fitztown Challenge Blog - an altered item. I was assigned the image Cameo 18, available here, and decided to alter a box, yes, I know it's a bag but here's what happened........................

I'd almost finished colouring the image and it was looking good. I'd done the skin and hair and the next day decided to give her antique pink lips, picked up my Promarker and the ink gushed out. It's the first time this has happened and she had very smudged lipstick. I touched a rose and she ended up with a pink neck too. It went in the bin. I coloured another and didn't use antique pink! I was going to use a box that used to hold fabric flowers and I covered the base beautifully in a lovely mottled pink paper. I made a start on the lid and made a right hash of it so that was binned too. I went for the easier option this time and used a simple paper bag.

My image was coloured with Promarkers and then I cut and embellished with one of my new Spellbinders Curved Borders Two at the top and bottom of the image. I then matted it on to pink pearlescent card. This was matted on to another Spellbinders diecut in bright pink card from Papermill. I also added the same shape to the other side of the bag to strengthen it. A Spellbinders Parisian border was added to the top of the turnover on the bag to give it a neat finish. I closed the bag with a pink star brad, from Create and Craft, and then all I had to do was add the pink paper roses which are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The green leaves are cut with Crealies dies. This will be used to hold a scarf for someone's birthday. A friend saw this just after it was finished and she nearly grabbed it for herself so I think it was a hit!

Moving Along with the Times - Anything Goes

Hello Everyone

This is my first card for the Moving Along with the Times challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and I used my favourite colour - I think you all know - green!

The stamp I used was a freebie that I got in a magazine a few weeks ago. It's the first time I've used it though I have used most of the other stamps that came with this one. I don't make many 'cute' cards because I don't have anyone in the family that I could send one to but I'm giving this to a young friend to send to someone.

The sponsor this week is Sir Stampalot.  so check it out.

The prize on offer is:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers, cut it with one of a set of very cheap dies that I bought from the Joanna Sheen website and they had no name on them. After it was cut I edged it with a Distress Ink. The green card is from Papermill and the backing paper is from a freebie pad that I got years ago in a magazine! The sentiment is one from Lili of the Valley and is set against a Memory Box diecut. The green ribbon is from a stash I bought in Australia in 2010 and I'm still using certain colours. The 6x6 card blank is by Craft UK.

The beautiful little flower is one from a lovely parcel of flowers I got from a friend in blogland, Nataliya.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #181 - Autumn/Fall

The theme this week at One Stitch at a Time is Autumn/Fall. This time it was my turn to choose one of Jess's images at Stitchybear's Digi Outlet and I chose Floral Cap Nouveau L. I've used one of these Floppy Latte's capital letter images before and my DIL, who received the card, loved it. This time I chose the letter L as it's my sister's birthday in October - Libra, and her name is Lorna, the theme was autumn and so all the embellishments were leaves.

Check out the OSAAT challenge blog for details of prizes.

My card blank is a large square, 8x8, by Joanna Sheen. The autumn leaves backing paper is from a Joanna Sheen CD called Fabulous Flowers. I matted the BP on to maroon Papermill card as the background. I coloured the image with my trusty Promarkers and cut with a Spellbinders grand nestie. I set the image slightly to the left and after printing a small list of Ls I cut that with another Spellbinders die, edged it with a burgundy Promarker and positioned that to the top right. I was on for ages cutting a pile of autumn leaves in various shades of cream, red and brown card. I used Spellbinders and Crealies dies for the leaves. I've now got a pile of leaves ready for my next Autumn project!!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #176 - Use a Digi

The theme this week is Use a Digi so pop over to One Stitch at a Time, check out the DT cards and add your card. I chose the image 'A bird with leaves' by Tami of Gingerloft over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I hope my DT buddies Josephine and Shell liked working with this image that I chose.

Check out the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from a Papermania pad by Docrafts. The paper was matted on to Papermill green card. I decided to use different colour greens for the base mat, ribbon and leaves but I'm not sure that I chose well! Hmm. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand circle nestie. I also used my new Britannia lattice die and then cut around the edge so that I could use it as a bower. The leaves and swirls are cut with Spellbinders, Marianne and Crealies dies. The ribbon is from my Australian stash.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Crafty Boots Challenges - Die Cuts
Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge - Use a Swirl

A card just for fun!

Hello everyone - a second post for today! I made a card for fun, no design team work and I think this is one of only a handful I've made since Eric's death. I just haven't been in the mood for crafting and making my design team cards for Stitchybear has actually covered me for family and friend birthdays during the past year. This morning I've finished off a card I started earlier this week. I've been very remiss in my blog entries and blog visits so I must apologise to all those bloggers who have commented time and time again, each week, and had nothing in return from me.

I was going to enter it into the Joanna Sheen craft forum monthly challenge and then I thought I would add it to my blog too.

The large square card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The image is from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams CD. I matted it on to Papermill purple card. The backing paper is from Chocolate Baroque's Peacock Summer Party CD and I matted that on to Papermill's cerise card. The little butterflies are all cut with a Martha Stewart punch in various papers. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are all dies by Crealies and Marianne.

I'm entering it in to the following challenges:

Jellypark Friends Challenge - Celebrate Summer

Lady Jane again

Today I decided to use another digi that I've had for a while and here she is, Lady Jane from Stitchybear Digital Stamps Store.

I used a small square card blank from Craft UK. The green pearlescent card is from Payper Box and I used it as a mat for the black and white backing paper from a Paper Cellar pad. I coloured the digi with Promarkers, the jewellery was coloured with a Sakura glitter pen. I cut it with my Spellbinders circle nestie backing it with a fancy Spellbinder nestie. The doiley is one that I received in Nat's candy a few months ago. I used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and cut the leaves with dies from Marianne and Crealies.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
The Corrosive Challenge - Flowers and Doilies and Bling Oh My
Hooked on Crafts - Flowers
Wild Orchid Crafts - Anything Goes

A cute girly card

I haven't made a cute card for a while so here goes!! I've used a Lili of the Valley stamp and coloured her with Promarkers before cutting with a Spellbinders oval nestie. The lime green pearlised card is from Payper Box. The Whimsy bunting die was one of my new buys from the Craft Show I was at last week. I used Costco pink paper for the bunting. The flowers are from the candy I won on Nataliya's blog. The leaves are cut with Crealies dies. The small square card blank is by Craft UK.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - Let's Get Girly
Lil's Lil Fairies - Spring Colours

#97 Round and Round

The theme is Round and Round for the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time. Check it out because we have two winners' prizes up for grabs this week. One is a 10$ gift certificate from The Robin's Nest

and the other is 3 Promarkers from Creative Craft World.

Come and join us and be lucky! My image is by Sylvie over at Stitchybear's Digital Stamps Store.

I decided to use a small, white, square Craft UK card blank and then I cut it in to a circular card using one of my Spellbinders Grand Nesties. I also cut a circle of gold card and then a smaller circle of red patterned paper as the backing frame to Sylvie's digi image of a Geisha Girl - isn't she beautiful?  I coloured her with my Promarkers, I do love using these as you know! The gold card I received in a Secret Santa parcel and the red paper is frorm Create and Craft. I made up a flower arrangement to echo the flower in her hair. I used a Wild Orchid Craft flower and backed it with leaves cut with a Crealies die. To make the wooden embellishment I cut a wooden cocktail stick in half and sanded the edges to smooth them. I think it looks quite effective, although I do say so myself.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Whoopsi Daisy - Anything But Square
I love Promarkers Challenge 100 - Anything Goes - with Promarkers
Raise the Bar - 'Ring' in the New Year - Circles
