INTAAS Orange and Black

This challenge theme was set by DT member Chriss and it's Orange and Black. Come long and join us at International Art and Soul, we'd love to see you.

My scalloped card blank is a 7x7 by Crafts UK. The coloured card is by Papermill and the image is one from Saturated Canary. I cut the card with two Spellbinders scalloped dies and once the image was coloured I also cut this with the smaller die. I used my trusty Promarkers to colour the image. Very simple but done.

I won't be entering my card into any challenges as I'm taking a rest for a short while to refresh myself!

Thank you all for supporting me over the past few years, it's very much appreciated.

Moving Along with the Times - Purple Haze

This week the theme of the challenge over at Moving Along with the Times was set by Jan Small. Come along and join us as I'm sure it's a theme that you will all love - Purple Haze, which means you can use as many shades of purple as you wish.

This is the first time I've used one of my 7 x 7 cards, by Craft UK, that I bought at Ally Pally in September! I used Crafter's Companion purple card as the base mat and then embossed a pale lilac pearlised card, from I know not where, with a CC embossalicious folder. The image was coloured with my Promarkers and she is by Saturated Canary. After cutting into a rectangle I edged with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. The fancy scroll at the bottom is a lace die by Sue Wilson and the banner and number 2 are both by Joanna Sheen. They are cut in bright purple Mirri card.

My eyes are much improved, not perfect but I can just about live with them like this, thank you all for your best wishes.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart - Always Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Always Anything Goes
Crafting with Dragonflies - Birthday Card

Moving along with the Times - Card for a Female

It was Hazel's (Didos) turn to choose the theme for this week's challenge over at Moving along with the Times and she chose 'Card for a Female'. I always need loads of these throughout the year so it was good to get started.

I used a large Joanna Sheen card blank and then decided to use a Saturated Canary image that I've had for months and never used. I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie circle. I used pale green card from Papermill for the background and I embossed it with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder. I matted it on to dark green card from Payper Box to just give a fine darker edge. The pale pink border along the bottom is from another Spellbinders set of dies, Parisian Accents. The sentiment is, of course, from Lili of the Valley, stamped and matted on to Spellbinders circle nesties. I used a darker pink pearlescent card to cut out two swirls that come with a Tattered Lace Butterfly die.

Come over to MAWTT to see all the beautiful cards made by the rest of the design team.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Blue Mood

This is a card I've just finished off this morning, after starting it yesterday. I haven't posted any cards this week because of internet problems. My husband and I have both been poorly too so it's not been a good time in our house - it doesn't happen often but .................it wasn't a happy house!

Anyway, on to my card. I looked through my Saturated Canary digis and decided to use this freebie that Krista Smith posted on the blog a few weeks ago. This little girl looks as if she's having a party with her balloons but she needed some music to cheer her up after one of them burst. I used blue papers from the Capsule Collection by Docrafts. The white border is cut with a Spellbinders Parisian Motif die. I coloured the image with Promarkers and then cut it with one of the Spellbinders label dies. I used Sakura gelly roll pens to add glitter to the motifs on the slipper and the balloon string. The treble clef and music notes are Memory Box dies and I used them on blue pearlescent Payper Box card. The Dazzler buttons in the corners are by Creative Expressions. They are very blingy so I hope you can see that clearly when the card is enlarged.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:

Saturated Canary - Bling it on!
I love Promarkers - Music
The Stamp Man Challenge - Bling it on
Dutch Dare Challenge - For a Child
Little Miss Muffet's Challenge - Sparkle

Thank you all for visiting. I appreciate all your comments and love to read them.

Red, white and blue

There are so many reasons to celebrate this year and red, white and blue says it all. I've used a Saturated Canary image by Krista Smith for the focal point and coloured her with my Promarkers. I coloured the inside edge of the Spellbinders nestie with Barn Door Distress Ink before removing the image from the die. The large scalloped card blank is from Craft UK. The red card is from Papermill and that was cut with a Spellbinders grand scalloped nestie square. I'd bought a Docrafts Papermania paper pad at the Glow, Bluewater Craft Show in February and hadn't got round to using it until I made this card. I did intend using it for the diamond jubilee street party invitations but as Eric was poorly that idea went out of the window! I used my corner rounder punch to cut the corners and then set the paper at an angle on the red mat. The image also had the corners rounded with the punch so that there were no sharp corners on any of the papers. I added some Union flag buttons  to two corners and I think that's it. They were bought at Bluewater too.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
Saturated Canary Challenge 20 - Red, white and blue
Papertake Weekly - Bingo, Buttons, Free, Punches
Joanna Sheen - Summer Daze
Gingerloft Challenge - Red, white and blue
Robyn's Fetish - No flowers anywhere at All

Basketball Saturated Canary

I decided to colour another Saturated Canary image, I've become hooked on them, I knew I would! This one is for a boy and reminds me so much of when our sons were young and forever playing ball games. My card blank is a large square by Craft UK. I coloured him with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie. While it was still in the die I used Distress Ink in Stormy Sky to colour the inside edge. I used backing paper that I've had for ages and it was from one of the shopping channels - I think QVC. The navy blue card used for the mat is from Papermill. I ripped two pieces of the navy card and added a length of Creative Expressions' baker's twine to each one before adding to the background. The LOTV sentiment is top left and that also had the edges smudged with Distress Ink. Three pieces of Card Candi finish off the design.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:
Creative Craft Challenges - Red, White and Blue
Kaboodle Doodles Challenge - Anything Goes
Lexi's Creations - For the Boy/Man in our Lives
Love to Create Challenge - Add a Sentiment
The Crazy Challenge - Childhood Memories - mine are memories of my sons playing ball games in their childhood! Does that count?

I've noticed that I've lost some of my followers - I'm so sorry if you were one of them and decided to forget me! I do try to keep up with you all but I know that I fail miserably. I don't seem to have enough hours in the day to catch up.  Thank you to all my faithful followers who come to visit whether I can visit them or not. I do appreciate each and every one, thank you.

One Moment in Time

I won this Saturated Canary image by Krista Smith when I entered Kyms Crafty Card's challenge blog. I coloured her red, white and blue because of the Olympics, this year in London. I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut it out with a Spellbinders grand oval nestie, matting it on to a bright red Mirri card scalloped nestie. I used a firework backing paper from Oase at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Shop and matted that on to navy blue card from Papermill. I used some gold Mirri card to cut the Spellbinders Ironworks motif die and tucked it behind the image at the top left. The card blank is a large scalloped card from Craft UK.

I'm entering this card in to the following challenges:
