INTAAS - Your take on a Nursery Rhyme

I set the theme for this challenge over at International Art and Soul and I chose 'Your take on a Nursery Rhyme'.

It seemed a good idea when I chose this theme at the beginning of the year but when it came to making it well, that was a whole different story. I had so many rhymes going through my head I couldn't decide. One that was eventually forefront was Monday's Child which was a favourite one for my mother to recite. My late husband and I were both born on a Thursday so it had to be that - and then I discovered that one of my DsiL was also born on a Thursday so her card is ready for her birthday later this month. Here is the inside in case you don't know this rhyme.

My card blank s a 7x7 by Crafts UK. A sheet of postage stamp images from various countries was fixed on top of a sheet of red card from Papermill - I have no idea where I got the postage stamp paper from and if anyone knows please tell me. That was the base mat taken care of before I started colouring the little hobo. This is an image I won from Lacy Sunshine a few years ago and I love it. After colouring with my Promarkers I cut the image out with my Spellbinders circle die and set it against a Spellbinders scalloped die cut in bright orange card, again from Papermill. It was centred on the base mat and then a small sentiment stamp - which I think may have been on a freebie stamp sheet from a magazine - was stamped, coloured, cut with a small circle die and set on a turquoise scalloped circle. I love how this turned out, by using all the colours in the image on the backing card it makes it very colourful. To top it off I added some glitter to the centre of the flower in her hat and on the sentiment. I bought the glitter MANY years ago from Create and Craft.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

MAWTT Fantasy

Please come over to Moving Along with the Times and join us in the challenge theme of 'Fantasy' set by June.

I won some digis by Lacy Sunshine just before Christmas and this was one of them. This is my idea of fantasy - a smiling caterpillar at the bottom of my garden.

My card blank is by Craft UK. I made a mat of red Papermill card on which I'd set a sheet of grass coloured paper from a paper pad by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers before cutting with a Spellbinders die and edging with Distress Ink. I placed it to the right of the mat and added a red bunting cut with a Joanna Sheen die. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley and I cut it out carefully before adding to a small scalloped die cut by Spellbinders. I edged the sentiment with a Sakura red gelly roll pen so it glistens,

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes

IAAS Do Something Digital

This challenge theme is to Do Something Digital and was set by Josephine. Please come over to International Art and Soul and join us.

My card blank is by Craft UK. I printed a sheet of  free digital paper from lianascrap.com and matted it on to bright orange card from Papermill. This was the background for the digital image that I won a few weeks ago from Lacy Sunshine. I coloured the travelling hobos with my Promarkers and used the colours that were in the background paper. After colouring I tore round the image because a neat die cut wouldn't have looked right. lol I edged the torn image with a Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and centre it on the mat. I printed the sentiment on my computer and tore that out too, edging it with ink before adding to a scrap of torn digital paper, in the same colours but a different pattern to the background mat. I raised it on pads and set to the right of the image. The three 'gems' top left are from a set I bought in America a good few years ago and up till now had never used any of them. I'd bought them because I hadn't seen any brown ones at that time and because they were different textures I was drawn to them.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Color Inspiration - Anything Goes if it's coloured by myself/yourself
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday - Add a sentiment
Sunny Day Crafting - C is for Color it
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
2Crafty Critter Crazies - Must have critter
A Perfect time to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Crafty Animals - Must contain Animal

Moving Along with the Times - Flowers

At Moving Along with the Times the theme this week is 'Flowers' and was chosen by Beckie. A good choice to start the New Year.

I won this digi a few weeks ago and it's by Lacy Sunshine. I had fun this morning colouring this little kitty and I finished the card in next to no time - I think my mojo is returning after being on holiday for a few weeks. lol

My card blank is a 7x7 by Crafts UK and the pink card is by Papermill. After colouring kitty with my Promarkers I used two Spellbinder dies to cut the image and the pink base. I centred her in the middle of the card and then used my Spellbinder dies again to cut four corners in pink. The only addition then was the sentiment which was a magazine freebie, stamped in Rangers pink and then cut with more Spellbinder dies. I raised the sentiment on pads and set it to the right of the image.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

2 Crafty Critters - Anything Goes with a Critter
A perfect time to craft - Anything Goes
Animal Friends - New beginning with an animal
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Crafty Animals - Anything Goes with an animal
Digi Choosday - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
