The theme over at One Stitch at a Time challenge blog is Favourites and that means you can use your favourite embellishments, colours, technique or any other favourite. My favourites are dry embossing and dies. The sponsor this week is Digis with Attitude and we'll have two winners this week so pop over and enter.
My card is a large square Craft UK card blank. The white paper has been embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and backed with Papermill mottled green/gold card. The image for me, from this collaboration week, is Teri's 'Bluetit' which you can buy here. Many of you will know that I'm terrified of birds and I was a bit fazed when I saw my designated image. However, I had the time of my life colouring it and the more I look at it the more I like it! The die cuts are from Spellbinders Bird Flourishes and Floral Flourishes and my idea was that they represent the foliage of the tree that the bluetit is perched in. The image was coloured with my Promarkers, cut with a Spellbinders grand circle nestie and distressed with 'old paper' Distress Ink. From initially being unsure about the image I'm at the stage of loving my own card!! lol Two weeks in a row I've coloured a bird and can hardly bear to part with either card, I love them both. Maybe I'm beginning to like birds. Happy days.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Creature Comforts
Simon Says Stamp - Dies to Die For
The Sisterhood of Crafters - For the Birds
Stampin' B's Challenge 129 - Use at least 2 Spellbinders
CCEE Stampers - Add a bird - CCEE1138
