Wedding card

Looking at this photo it looks as if the bird cage and Spellbinder scalloped circles are bronze - I can assure you that they are silver! lol

I've made this card for a friend's daughter who gets married next month. The bride to be asked me to make cards for her wedding group - best man, usher, maid of honour, two bridesmaids, two flower girls and a page boy - and then I made this one for them. I've just had a message from her to say that she loves the cards. I didn't want to post any of those because I didn't want to ask if I could have permission, she might not want them on any blogs until after the wedding. They all have the base mat which is an embossed panel on 'pale lemon butter' card and silver card. The bridesmaids will have pale butter lemon dresses hence that colour for the cards. The embossed panel is different for male cards and female cards. I've really enjoyed making them, although I was quite dubious about taking it on at first. I've not been crafting very much at all since Eric's death. After initially saying a tentative 'yes' I rang the bride to be back and said a definite 'yes' hoping that it would give me something to focus on. It certainly did and I've enjoyed being in my craft room again.

A Joanna Sheen card blank as usual, lemon card and silver card from Hobbycraft. The embossed panel is made with a Crafters Companion embossalicious folder and the heart is cut with a Memory Box die. The other die cuts are all Spellbinders. The image is from Crafters Companion SWALK range and is coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment is LOTV. The pearls are from Joanna Sheen. The edges of the image and the sentiment are given a faint colour with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade.

OSAAT #178 - Anything Goes

This week's theme is 'Anything Goes' so pop over to One Stitch at a Time challenge blog and join us.

HOWEVER, THIS WEEK WE HAVE A SPECIAL CHALLENGE AND YOU MUST ONLY USE STITCHYBEAR DIGI IMAGES.

Shell chose the image for herself, Josephine and me to use this week. She chose 'Pretty in Sari' by Priyanka at My Heart Pieces over at Stitchybear Digi Outlet. We have dozens of creators who have some wonderful digi images in the store so come and check them out, buy your favourites and join us with this challenge.

I coloured the image with Promarkers, making the wings sparkle with a Sakura diamond pen, and cut it with a Spellbinders lacy circle die. I used a small Craft UK card blank. The backing paper was from a freebie pad that I got in a craft magazine MONTHS ago. I matted it on to dark green Papermill card and used the same green card to cut two corners, again Spellbinders.  I put lime green gems around the lacy circle and added a small metal charm to the bottom corner. The gems and the charm are from Create and Craft.

Please check the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes. A special challenge means special prizes.

OSATT #177 - Back to School

Yes, the theme for this week is 'Back to School, so head over to One Stitch at a Time and add your offering and check out the rest of the DT cards. I chose 'Emma' by Sue of Beary Dust over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Outlet.

I used a card blank by Joanna Sheen. I matted a freebie Portobello Road paper on to dark red Papermill card as the background to Emma. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and after edging the paper with a red Promarker, matted it on to more dark red card so that it would stand out against the backing paper. I got some freebie school stamps with Creative Stamping Magazine so used a couple of those. After colouring I edged them with the red Promarker and set them at an angle in the right panel. The sentiment was generated on the computer and added to one of my new Spellbinder Resplendent Rectangle dies. I used the smallest rectangle as an extra embellishment and added some Wild Orchid Craft pearls for a bit of bling! This young lady has nail varnish on her fingernails and toe nails, wears lipstick, has a fancy hairstyle and is just SO not ready for school!

Please head over to the OSAAT challenge blog for details of the prizes for this week.

OSAAT #176 - Use a Digi

The theme this week is Use a Digi so pop over to One Stitch at a Time, check out the DT cards and add your card. I chose the image 'A bird with leaves' by Tami of Gingerloft over at the Stitchybear Digi Outlet. I hope my DT buddies Josephine and Shell liked working with this image that I chose.

Check out the OSAAT blog for details of the prizes.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from a Papermania pad by Docrafts. The paper was matted on to Papermill green card. I decided to use different colour greens for the base mat, ribbon and leaves but I'm not sure that I chose well! Hmm. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand circle nestie. I also used my new Britannia lattice die and then cut around the edge so that I could use it as a bower. The leaves and swirls are cut with Spellbinders, Marianne and Crealies dies. The ribbon is from my Australian stash.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

OSAAT #175 - In the Summer

The theme this week, over at One Stitch at a Time, is 'In the Summer'. I chose April's 'A Buggy', at Reece's Scrap Pieces at Stitchybear Digital Outlet.

Yikes, I thought - how do I make this image fit the theme? As it turned out it I didn't find it too hard to imagine that it was my holiday buggy all packed and ready to go holiday in the sun. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie. After cutting I used Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade for the edges. The blank card base is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen and the bronze Mirri card is also from JS. I matted the First Editions, Hideway, glitter paper on to the tan Mirri card as the mat. The circular diecuts in the bottom left are by Marianne Creatables and the one in the top right is the centre of the same die. I then used my Whimsy pennant die to make the bunting which I strung together with orange silk and added the word Fun in red with my Whispers fine pen. I also added Sun 1 to the number plate on the buggy - I hope that's acceptable and not seen as altering the digi. :(  The lights were 'coloured' with a Sakura gelly roll pen, diamond, to give a hint of glass perhaps? Once the elements were all put together it looked OK and I think it passes muster.

The prizes can all be checked on the OSAAT blog - please come and join and check them out.
