OSAAT #175 - In the Summer

The theme this week, over at One Stitch at a Time, is 'In the Summer'. I chose April's 'A Buggy', at Reece's Scrap Pieces at Stitchybear Digital Outlet.

Yikes, I thought - how do I make this image fit the theme? As it turned out it I didn't find it too hard to imagine that it was my holiday buggy all packed and ready to go holiday in the sun. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it with a Spellbinders grand nestie. After cutting I used Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade for the edges. The blank card base is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen and the bronze Mirri card is also from JS. I matted the First Editions, Hideway, glitter paper on to the tan Mirri card as the mat. The circular diecuts in the bottom left are by Marianne Creatables and the one in the top right is the centre of the same die. I then used my Whimsy pennant die to make the bunting which I strung together with orange silk and added the word Fun in red with my Whispers fine pen. I also added Sun 1 to the number plate on the buggy - I hope that's acceptable and not seen as altering the digi. :(  The lights were 'coloured' with a Sakura gelly roll pen, diamond, to give a hint of glass perhaps? Once the elements were all put together it looked OK and I think it passes muster.

Whoopsi Daisy - Use up your Stash

The theme of the challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy is 'Use up your stash'. It doesn't matter how much stash I use up, it multiplies all by itself and I've got just as much as when I started! lol

My card is a large square blank by Craft UK. The lime green card is by Papermill and the lovely backing paper is from a First Editions pad called 'Hideaway'. I coloured the image, from sheet 361 over at the Whoopsi Daisy shop, with my Promarkers. I cut it by hand and matted it on to more green card. The ribbon is from my dwindling Australian stash. The gem flowers were bought from Create and Craft I don't know how many years ago and so were the buttons. I fixed the buttons to some little fancy die cuts from a Spellbinder die - I have no idea which set the die was from, sorry. I used green silk to tie the buttons and the sentiment is from LOTV.

#117 For the man in your life

The theme of this challenge over at One Stitch at a Time is 'For the man in your life'. I've made this as an anniversary card and it could be used for male or female. The image is 'Waiting for You' by Priyanka over at Stitchybear Digital Stamp Store.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and then tore round the edges before inking them with Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade. The wings of the fairies were made with fusible film and I burnt my craft room carpet when doing them! I switched my travel iron on and got the wings ready between some sheets of paper , on the floor! I noticed that the iron had a green mark on it after I'd ironed for a few seconds, doh! It was my carpet. Fortunately it isn't an expensive carpet, it's only a cord one - now with a patch of burnt fibres!! lol I've had suggestions from cyber friends to cover it with a butterfly or a flower, etc. That won't work, so I'll just have to admit to my folly when I get visitors to my room. Now, back to my card  - the backing paper is from my favourite First Editions pad Hideaway. It's a beautiful glitter paper and is matted on to tan coloured card from Papermill. I used the same card to cut the Marianne die leaves. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I generated the sentiment on the computer and tore it and edged it as before. Four pieces of Card Candi are in the top left corner. My card blank is from Craft UK.

Eat Cake!

Another of my Saturated Canary digis, coloured with Promarkers. I had fun doing this card using the brightest colours. The dots on her headscarf were coloured with a silver metallic Promarker and I added diamond Stickles to the cake. I used orange silk to stitch the threads of the bunting on the image. I cut the image with a Spellbinders grand circle nestie and matted it on to a scalloped nestie.The pink card is from Papermill and the glittery backing paper is from First Editions pad 'Desert Blooms'. I cut the backing paper with a grand scalloped square nestie and matted it on the pink card. The corners of the pink card were cut with my Carl corner rounder punch. I used my Whimsy bunting die on three pieces of coloured card to make the four triangles and then added a heart and star embellishment to two of them to match the bunting image on the digi. I tied them with orange silk and added two to each of the top corners. I had a cupcake stamp which I'd got free quite a while ago in my Creative Stamping magazine. I stamped three cupcakes and coloured them with Promarkers and Stickles before carefully cutting out. These were aded to the bottom of the card and were raised to give more depth to the design. Thanks for all your lovely comments. I hope all the UK bloggers enjoyed the weekend festivities. We're back in to the normal routine again now. Eric has been not too good and we had to visit the GP this morning. He was sent for an xray at the Cardio unit of a local hospital and we were in and out in ten minutes! Perfect. I'm not doing any housework today because we've been in and out, and in and out again, so I've decided there's been enough rushing about and I'll play for the rest of the day. Enjoy your day.

O for Orange

This is s small square card blank from Craft UK.The orange pearlescent card is from Payper Box and the backing paper is from the First Editions paper pad 'Hideaway'. The tulips digi is from Sweet 'n' Sassy and I coloured it with Promarkers before cutting with the Spellbinders oval nestie and then matting on the orange scalloped nestie. I used a Spellbinders die to cut four corners to complete the design. Very simple but quite attractive.

I made this card yesterday but I've just managed to get the photo taken this morning. I've used a Craft UK card blank again - gone are the days when I used to score and make my own! It's an 8x 8 square and the backing paper is from a First Editions pad called Hideaway. The red card is from Papermill. The image is another that I won from Sweet 'n' Sassy and the face on this cat is priceless! I coloured it with Promarkers and after cutting with my Spellbinders oval nestie I used Distress Ink in Mustard Seed round the edges. I matted it on to the scalloped nestie in yellow card frorm Papermill and then matted that on to another grand oval nestie in red. I tucked an Ironworks motif under the image and a strip of Joanna Sheen's red organza ribbon is across the bottom. I then went the whole hog and cut some Whimsy bunting and Cuttlebug balloons. I used Creative Expressions baker's twine for the strings on balloons and bunting.

I made this card yesterday but I've just managed to get a reasonable photograph of it today.  The card blank is a large square from Craft UK and the backing papers are from First Edition paper pad Desert Blooms. The red card is by Ross Paper. I used my Texting Josh image that I won on the Ladybug Crafts blog. I coloured Josh with Promarkers before cutting in to a rectangle and matting on to a red rectangle. The black mobile is cut, from Mirri board, with a Spellbinders die. I used a red button from Create and Craft and tied it with baker's twine from Creative Expresssions via Joanna Sheen.

I've made a card today

This is the first time for weeks that I've actually sat down and made one card in a day. I'm hoping that my tablets are beginning to take effect. I hope it's not wishful thinking! It looks a very simple card and when I've looked carefully at the photograph it doesn't look very good. However, I have to say that it looks much better IRL. I used a small 6x6 card blank by Craft UK and the reddish brown paper, that I used for the mat and the Memory Box ringed buckle, is by Costco. The flower in the centre of the buckle is by Wild Orchid Crafts. The Arboscello tree and the wrought iron fence are also Memory Box dies and were cut with Papermill card. The backing paper which has stripes made up of spots (how about that?) is by First Editions and is in a pad called Hideaway. After sticking down the tree I used Deco Art's Glamour Dust to give it a bit of bling. It looks very pretty.
