MAWTT Food and/or Drink
Come over to Moving Along with the Times and join us in the theme set by Sue B, of Food and/or drink. I love this image by Stitchy over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps so decided to go for this. The digi is called 'Please Drink Responsibly'. I have a few friends who would like this if they received it on their birthday.
My card blank is by Craft UK. I used two sheets from the DCWV foiled elegance card stock pads. Each sheet had a foiled corner and these were the bits that I wanted so I cut carefully round them. Once I had them cut I cut them again down the centre so that I had four sections as my background to the image. I'd coloured the image with my Promarkers before cutting with the Spellbinders oval die and matting it on to a metallic red scalloped oval. I set the image across the four foiled corners and loved the effect - it doesn't take much to please me. lol
'Cheers' and 'Tea's Up' were generated on the computer, cut with the Spellbinders small oval die and matted on to red scalloped ovals. I placed them, one at each side, on raised pads.
I've just found out that Sue B will be leaving the MAWTT team and I'm so sorry. I'll miss you Sue because you always made time to comment and support me in whatever I did and for that I thank you. I hope I'll see you around but the best of luck for the future.

IAAS Use Humour
This time at International Art and Soul we've got a fun challenge for you, set by Jeanette, and it's 'Use Humour'. I started off eagerly with this challenge and had the card finished just waiting for the humour and that's when my inspiration disappeared. I even sent texts to my two sons and daughters in law asking for ideas and they couldn't come up with anything either so it was back to the drawing board.
I eventually settled on a Bugaboo image of Stella which I've had for a while, I used my Promarkers to colour her and then cut her with a Spellbinders oblong die, matting it on to a red scalloped oblong/rectangle. I decided to use a DL card, from Craft UK, as the shape of the image seemed to cry out for it. I used a fine point on my red Promarker to draw lines across the DL card blank as the background. Once I'd decided that was OK I added the matted image. The sentiment, supplied with the Stella image, was generated on the computer and cut with smaller Spellbinder dies before setting at an angle across the bottom of the card. The only embellishments were three red gems, from Hobbycraft, in the top right of the image.

IAAS Emboss and a Die
Come along and join us at International Art and Soul to show us what you can do with the theme 'Emboss and a Die'. You can choose dry embossing or heat embossing, or both, and use a die too.
My card blank is 8x8 by Craft UK. I embossed pale blue card from Papermill with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious embossing folder of clouds. However, I don't think this is showing very well on my photograph. I matted it on to dark brown card, again by Papermill. I used a Sue Wilson die to make the focal point in dark brown. After setting it slightly higher than centre on the mat I started on the stamped image. The centre die of the Sue Wilson set was cut in beige card and on it I stamped birds in flight from a stamp set by Visible Image. It was stamped in Cocoa Distress Ink. I raised it on pads and set it in the centre. The sentiment is from the Visible image set and again it was stamped in brown and on beige card. I set it to the bottom right and added three brown gems by Mei Flower. The swirl in the bottom left is cut with a Spellbinder die in brown card.

MAWTT Rainbows
The theme at Moving Along with the Times has been set by Janis Lewis and it's 'Rainbows'.
Whenever I see a rainbow I always recite one of my favourite poems: 'My heart leaps up' by William Wordsworth -
My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

Guest Designer - 2 Crafty Critters
I was invited, by 2 Crafty Critters, to be Guest Designer for March and I was pleased to accept. The image was supplied by their sponsor for this challenge, Limited Runs. I chose the image Puppy Love and decided to make a birthday card for my great nephew William. I have a dog called Lily and William hasn't seen her so this card will be to show him Lily. lol You'll have guessed by her name that she is white so no colouring on the image apart from two little pink touches on her ears. I also coloured the envelope with my Ivory Promarker before adding William's name.
This is Lily.
My card blank is a 6x6 by Craft UK. The sheet of silver metallic paper is from a DCWV pad and it was matted on to bright blue card by Papermill. The image was cut with a Spellbinders large oval die and matted on to the large scalloped red die cut. The red card is also from Papermill. I used the number 6 from the Spellbinders alphabet/number die set, cut it in blue and set this on the bottom right corner. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and I fussy cut it before adding to another Spellbinders die cut, in red. The little bow at the top is from a separate die which I thought was a Memory Box die but I'm not sure. The star/flower in the top right is from the same die, it hangs from the bottom of the bow, but cut in blue. Obviously I cut two in different colours and then used the bow of one and the star/flower of the other.
I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Dragonfly Journeys - Year of the Dog

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes/Optional Twist Birthday

Thank you all for visiting. Please leave Lily some love.
