INTAAS Humorous

The theme this fortnight at International Art and Soul is 'Humorous' and the challenge was set by me. Why do I think of the theme before I think of what I can do for these challenges? I'm sure I get a perverse sense of pleasure from the struggle. lol

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK  The brown and pink card is by Papermill. I embossed the brown card with an embossalicious folder from Crafter's Companion before setting it on to a pink mat as the background. I used a Clip Art image of a question mark and printed it in a large size in pink before cutting with a Spellbinder die. The quote is a stamp by PaperArtsy and I bought it a few years ago at Ally Pally and have never used it until now. It was stamped with Memento ink in cocoa which seemed appropriate. I cut it with another Spellbinder die and matted it on to pink card the same shape but slightly bigger before setting it an angle in bottom right.  My daughter in law spotted the stamp at Ally Pally and thought it was funny which prompted me to buy it - she loves chocolate! So - guess who is getting this card for her birthday?

IAAS Ecology, Environment, Conservation

This theme was set by Sall 'Ecology, Environment, Conservation' . Please come along and join us at International Art and Soul.

My card blank is 7x7 by Craft UK. The backing paper is by PaperArtsy and I matted it on to Papermill's dark brown card as the base mat. I stamped the image in Memento Ink in cocoa but I have no idea who made the stamp. I bought it at Ally Pally a few years ago. I chose not to colour the image  and after cutting it into a rectangle I used Distress Ink on the edges. Then it was set to the right of the base mat leaving some of the beautiful leaves on show. I added three wooden flowers, from Create and Craft many years ago, to the panel of leaves.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafting with an Attitude - Anything Goes
A Bit More Time to Craft - Anything Goes
A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes

Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

IAAS - CAS with blue

I haven't made a CAS card (clean and simple) for quite some time so I was pleased with Maggie's choice of theme for the challenge at International Art and Soul.

My card blank is 7x7 by Craft UK. I've had the stamp for a few years and this is only the second time I've used it. It's by Woodware and is called Bubble Blossom, Felicity. I have no idea if it's still available. I stamped it in Memento ink directly on to the card blank and then coloured with my Promarkers.  The sentiment is by PaperArtsy Eclectica 3 collection. The sentiment was also stamped in Memento ink, cut with a Spellbinder die and the edges coloured with the blue Promarker. A very CAS card but I actually love this one.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Dragonfly Dreams - For a Special Female (my late husband's 96 year old cousin in Australia)
Aud Sentiments - Any sentiment except Happy Birthday
Cardz 4 Galz - Flora or Fauna
Crafting with an Attitude - Anything Goes

MAWTT June Blooms

Come along to Moving Along with the Times and join us in this challenge of  'June Blooms'. The theme was set by Judith.

I started with a 7x7 card blank by Craft UK and then made a mat of silver grey card and lilac paper for the background. Before fixing to the card blank I wrapped a strip of purple ribbon close to the bottom and two purple gem brads to the top corners.

I've had the image coloured for quite a while and it was perfect for this challenge so I cut it out with a Spellbinders die. I liked the simplicity of it but then decided it needed a sentiment. This is the perfect quote for this theme and it's from a set of quote stamps by PaperArtsy. I stamped it in lilac and cut with a scalloped Spellbinders die before edging with lilac Distress Ink and raising it on pads at the side of the image.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Simply Papercraft - Anything Goes

MAWTT - Spots and Dots

The theme this week at Moving Along with the Times was set by Jessie and is Spots and Dots. I love using spots and dots so this theme suited me down to the ground. Come along and join us.

I used a card blank by Joanna Sheen and the yellow card is by Papermill. I used Spellbinder dies to make the fancy edge and the circles for the sentiment. The stencil is by Paperartsy and I used Distress Inks in various colours for the dots, I had fun with this. lol The sentiment 'Get Well Soon' was in gold peel offs (aaagh, first time for years that I've used these). This card has already been sent to a good friend who had a major heart operation.

All the best for the year ahead and thank you so much for staying with me when my posts have been thin on the ground.

Moving Along with the Times

This week the theme at MAWTT is Dies and/or Punches and as you can see I used dies.

I used a small 6x6 card from Craft UK and made a mat of bright yellow Papermill card and a sunflower printed sheet. This was from a CD - but sorry, I have no idea which CD, though I think it's a Joanna Sheen CD. I used one of Spellbinders curved borders as the 'bridge' across the bottom. The sentiment is one of Paperartsy's collection of stamp sentiments. I stamped it on to bright yellow card, cut it with a Spellbinders resplendent rectangle and raised it on foam pads.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Paperminutes - Flower Power
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Love to Scrap - Use something beginning with L,T,S,C, or B - bridge and stamped sentiment
Oh-la-la creations Challenge - Words to Inspire

Jotter Pad

When I had a stall at the country fair a few weeks ago I had every intention of taking some altered jotter pads. I had bought a few from Tesco and I was going to put new fronts on and put each one in a cello bag with a pen. I'm pleased that I didn't make them because the country fair wasn't a success. It catered mainly for a family day out and the adults weren't interested in buying, they were there to entertain the children.

Anyway, on to my pad. On a panel of white Papermill card I randomly stamped the images in Memento ink in sepia. I'd used stamps from two sets, PaperArtsy Clocks 4 and Clocks 6. I then used Distress Ink in Faded Burlap over the entire piece. After I'd fixed the panel to the front of the jotter I used my Cosmic Shimmer bronze pearlescent glue to make pearl drops round the sentiment to make it stand out. I like it and I'm going to use it for my own shopping lists.I might make some more for stocking fillers.

I'm entering my jotter in to the following challenges:
Robyn's Fetish - No flowers anywhere at All
Creative Belli Blog - Anything but a Card
Simon Says Stamp - Anything BUT a card
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Depth of Distress
