Tiger Lily

This image is called 'Lilleth' and is by Teri of Delicious Doodles. However, I've decided to call her Tiger Lily because I've coloured the lilies as tiger lilies. We had masses of tiger lilies in our garden when I was young and I always loved them. Unfortunately, I've never been very successful at growing them in my own gardens over the years.

After I'd decided to colour them as tiger lilies that decided the rest of my colour scheme - orange and green. A very bright and cheery card. I coloured the image with Promarkers and after cutting as a rectangle I matted it on to lime green card. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen and the orange and green card is all from Papermill. The image is so beautiful that it doesn't really need many embellishments so I kept it relatively simple. It was matted on to a bright orange base that I embossed with a Crafter's Companion 'A Stitch in Time' embossalicious folder. I added a lime green cord down the right with a Lili of the Valley sentiment set at the top of the cord. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with Cosmic bronze embossing powder before cutting with a Spellbinders lacy circle die. I added a few green gems in the corners, job done.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge - Creating with colour (use your favourite colour - mine is green).
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes
Digi Choosday Challenge - Flower Power
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Birthdays
Oldie but a Goodie Challenge - April Showers bring May Flowers oldie is green cord, I've had for years.

Moving Along with the Times - No Designer Papers

Moving Along with the Times, Team B's turn this week and the theme, set by Sue, is No Designer Papers. This means you can make your own background papers by stamping, spraying, sponging or any other technique you like using. You could just use layers of card or leave it CAS with just the image, it's up to you but come along and join us.

I decided to use my purple Cosmic Shimmer mist first of all and after that I stamped a little flower image randomly across the paper. The stamp is by Anita and I've used it loads, it must be the one stamp that I have used regularly and I've had it for years. I used my Promarkers to colour the flowers in shades of purple and did the centres in yellow. I matted this paper on to Crafters Companion purple card. I used my Spellbinder dies on more of the CC card to make the fancy border, the Happy Birthday sentiment nestie and an ornate base for another flower which I'd cut out to use as an embellishment. I asked one of my sons if it would pass muster and he said that it was OK for an old person! I'm sure he loves me really but he does believe in calling a spade a spade. lol

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
ABC Challenge - What's old is new again.
Created with Love Challenges - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

OSAAT Blog Hop - #144 Use a digi

The theme for this Blog Hop is' Use a digi' so I'm sure you'll all join in over at the challenge blog One Stitch at a Time. Come and join us and have some fun hopping from one blog to the next to check out all the DT cards. Comment on each card on the hop and you could win a prize from any of the blogs. The winning comment on my blog will receive the backing  papers - they are by Panda Bear over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop. So even if you don't win my prize you can still buy them for yourself and at the same time check out all the other great digis on offer. We have lots of fantastic creators and their images are wonderful. I love making my cards from their images.

I coloured the Park Bench image with my Promarkers, using the metallic Promarkers for the trim on the dresses, and then framed it with a Spellbinders grand nestie. When it was still in the die I edged it with Distress Inks to give the effect of grass and sky. I used two Memory Box dies to cut the tree and the whimsy circle and I used another of Panda Bear's papers for these. The backing paper has beautiful golden circles on it with a glittering star effect so I added Cosmic Glimmer gold pearl drops to enhance some of the stars. It looks quite effective but I'm not sure that my photograph shows them off very well.

Now this is the list of my design team buddies and the order in which you should 'hop'. You can find their individual blogs if you click on their names on my sidebar  If you've started here then check the list and catch up from the beginning:-

Jotter Pad

When I had a stall at the country fair a few weeks ago I had every intention of taking some altered jotter pads. I had bought a few from Tesco and I was going to put new fronts on and put each one in a cello bag with a pen. I'm pleased that I didn't make them because the country fair wasn't a success. It catered mainly for a family day out and the adults weren't interested in buying, they were there to entertain the children.

Anyway, on to my pad. On a panel of white Papermill card I randomly stamped the images in Memento ink in sepia. I'd used stamps from two sets, PaperArtsy Clocks 4 and Clocks 6. I then used Distress Ink in Faded Burlap over the entire piece. After I'd fixed the panel to the front of the jotter I used my Cosmic Shimmer bronze pearlescent glue to make pearl drops round the sentiment to make it stand out. I like it and I'm going to use it for my own shopping lists.I might make some more for stocking fillers.

I'm entering my jotter in to the following challenges:
Robyn's Fetish - No flowers anywhere at All
Creative Belli Blog - Anything but a Card
Simon Says Stamp - Anything BUT a card
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Depth of Distress

#109 Bright

The theme for the challenge over at One Stitch at a Time is 'Bright' and I think my card meets the challenge! The card blank is a small square from Craft UK. I used the image Sudz by Stitchy over at Stitchybear Digital Stamps Shop and coloured him with my Promarkers. I cut the image out with a Spellbinders wonky square nestie and used Mustard Seed Distress Ink on the edges. I made a mat of four different colours - blue glitter, orange, red and green and set the wonky square at the centre. Most of the card was bought from Payper Box. I used Cosmic Shimmer pearl drops to make three drops at the top right. I generated the Cheers sentiment on the computer, printed it on bright orange paper and backed it with white pearlescent card.

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen http://www.joannasheen.com/ and there'll be a £10 voucher for the winner. Remember to win the main prize you must use a Stitchybear image. A prize of $3 for the Stitchybear Shop will be awarded to the runner up who doesn't use a Stitchy image.

I'm entering my card in to the following challenges:

Digi Makeover Challenge - Bright Colours
Do you Stack Up - Bling/Glitter
Digistamps4joy - Bling/Glitter
Just Keep On Crafting - Anything Goes
My Mum's Craft Shop - Celebration

#108 Use a Digi

The challenge over at One Stitch at a Time this week is - Use a Digi. I've used Ike's 'Peacock' which you can buy over at Stitchybear's Digital Stamp Shop.

I used a large square card blank by Craft UK. The backing paper is from Glenda Waterworth's Peacock Summer Party CD and the black card is from Papermill. I coloured Ik'es image with Promarkers and then matted it on to Papermill's white pearlescent card to make it stand out. The peacock feather is from Hobbycraft. I used bronze and pearl Cosmic Shimmer PVA to make pearl drops at the bottom corner. The sentiment was generated on the computer before being matted on to white pearlescent card.

The sponsors for this challenge are The Robin's Nest
