Moving Along with the Times this week and you can be challenged too! lol It was Karina's turn to host the challenge and set the theme. When I saw the theme my heart missed a beat. Oh, my goodness, I've made card boxes but I've never made a little gift box or decorated it. I don't have a box maker so I had to use my brain - a difficult feat. This was the third attempt and it worked out pretty well, though I do say so myself. I don't usually use blue very much, it's not one of my favourite colours, but the deep turquoise card was the one I pulled out of the 'blue' drawer so it ended up in turquoise and royal blue.
It's roughly four inches by two inches deep. I used card from Papermill, Mirri board from Joanna Sheen and lace from the local market. The dies that I used are Memory Box Flowering Vine to go round the sides and Fresh Foliage to add to the flowers on the top. The flowers were a present from a crafting buddy, Nataliya. The doily, cut in royal blue Mirri board, is a Marianne die and the large gems are from Create and Craft. I gave the box a light dusting of turquoise glitter over the top and that looks quite pretty.
Thanks, Karina, you certainly set a challenge for me but I did eventually get to enjoy it.
I'm entering my box into the following challenges:
