INTAAS - Dies or Punches

This theme was set by DT member Maggie, 'Dies or Punches', come along and join us at International Art and Soul and show us what you can do.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Crafts UK and all the coloured card is by Papermill. I had to use dies as I gave most of my punches to my great niece who likes to craft. I'm sure I've still got a few but can't find them in my craft room even though I searched. Oh well.

The die on the left is by Sue Wilson and the Happy Birthday die is a Spellbinders die. Happy Birthday was generated on my computer. I love this cat image but I cannot for the life of me remember where it came from. I can remember cutting it out quite a while ago but have no idea whether it was a digi or whether it's a stamp. I've got a Really Useful Box full of cat stamps, etc so I might do a search in there and see if I can spot it for future use.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Allsorts - Use a Die
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes
Crafty Critters - Anything Goes with a critter
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Show us Your  Pussies - Anything Goes with a Pussycat
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes

Thank you all for visiting. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Holiday time. x

I matted the image on to a metallic silver card before adding to the top of the navy mat. INTAAS - Remembrance

This is our challenge at International Art and Soul and was chosen by DT member Sall on the theme of 'Remembrance'.

A change for me as this card is a tall slim card but once again from Crafts UK. The shape suited the image perfectly.

The image was drawn by Teri Sherman of Delicious Doodles and I coloured it with my Promarkers. I matted it on to dark blue card from Papermill. I embossed a sheet of pale blue card from Papermill with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of 'clouds'. I then cut it to fit the long slim card as the base mat for the image which I set at the top. I used the dark blue cut card to cut three thin strips which I added to the bottom of the card.

This card is to be entered into the following challenges:

Colour Crazy Craft - Anything Goes Colouring
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes - Thinking of You
Word Art Wednesdays - Anything Goes

INTAAS - All Hallows Eve Tic Tac Toe

International Art and Soul have 'All Hallows Eve Tic Tac Toe' as their challenge theme, set by design team member Sall. I used the middle horizontal line.

My Halloween card is a 6x6 card blank by Crafts UK. I decided to use this image and cannot remember where I got it. I don't even know if it was a digi that I've had for a while or whether it's a stamped image that has been ready and waiting for me. Anyway I think I'm well covered for Halloween.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers before fixing to a mat of orange Papermill card. This was set at the top of the black base mat, again by Papermill. Just before I set the black mat down I lay a strip of ribbon across between the image and the bottom of the card. On top of this I set a small image of a spell and skull which looked quite spooky. I'm not sure if this is from Clip Art images. I'm sorry I'm not more helpful with sources for the main image or the spell image - I'm putting it down to my age. lol

Oops, I forgot to say that I used the middle horizontal line.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Critter Crazy - Anything Goes with a Critter (not sure what sort of critter but I think I'm safe)
Arty Divas - Anything Goes
Craft Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Crafty Animals - Anything Goes with an animal - does mine count?

INTAAS - Use mainly Yellow and Orange

Come and join us over at International Art and Soul with our theme of Use Mostly Yellow and Orange. This was set by design team member CG.

My card blank is a 7x7 scalloped by Crafts UK. The yellow card is by Hobbycraft and was cut with s Spellbinder scalloped die, The orange card which was matted on to the yellow, is by Papermill and was also cut with a Spellbinder scalloped die. These were set as the base mat for the image of the dog. I coloured him with my Promarkers before carefully tearing him out. The image was then edged with a Distress Ink before centring him on the mat. I love this image of the dog, I think it's by Bugaboo but please correct me if I'm wrong. To complete the card I added three small peachy coloured pearls to the bottom corners of the orange mat. The pearls are from Mei Flower.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Critter Crazies - Anything goes with a critter
Arty Divas - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes

INTAAS - Furry Friends

After taking a short break I'm back with  International Art and Soul for the challenge of  Furry Friends - an animals theme set by design team member Debbie.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK. The dusky pink background paper is from Costco - I bought a case full of 12x12 papers, double sided, about twelve years ago and I'm still using them. The image is from one of Joanna Sheen's CDs and is set on a backing of navy blue card, by Creative Expressions, near the top of the card. Under the image I set three rows of paper dots (I've forgotten their real name), oops, it's Card Candi, in three different shades. A crafting friend, Chell, reminded me of the name. Card complete, simple but I quite like it.

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Crafting Happiness - Anything Goes
Crafter's Castle - Anything Goes
Arty Divas - Anything Goes

INTAAS - Birthday

Please come and join us at International Art and Soul and show us your take on the challenge of 'Birthday' chosen by DT member Chriss.

I've used a scalloped 7x7 card blank by Craft UK. I used Spellbinder dies to cut out 2 scalloped cards in turquoise and red as the mat for the white scalloped image. This image is a favourite of mine but I cannot remember who drew it - I think it's a Bugaboo but please correct me if I'm wrong. I coloured the cute little elephant with my Promarkers. This card was to be for my daughter in law's niece and she was going to be the grand old age of 18. I printed a ClipArt figure 18 and cut it with a spiky scalloped Spellbinders die before edging with a turquoise Distress Ink. This was added to the top right corner of the image. Apparently she was thrilled to bits with this happy card.

I'm entering it into the following challenges:

Colour Crazy Craft - Anything Goes with colouring
Crafty Creations- Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes with Promarkers
The Paper Shelter - Colour It
Ike's World - Anything Goes with option of Animals

International Art and Soul - CAS

The challenge over at International Art and Soul is CAS - Clean and Simple, set by DT member Maggie.

Once again I'm using a Craft UK card blank but this time it's not a square!

I used a stamp by Judi Ikins and it's called Wispy Bamboo. The small sentiment is by Glenda Waterworth. They were both stamped directly on to the card blank using a Moss Green Distress Ink. I know that a bamboo is not a weed, nor a flower, but I had to have one removed from my raised garden bed not long after I moved here - it was growing like a weed and was huge. The sentiment is very true in lots of respects - thinking of the pretty buttercups and dandelions but certainly not that bamboo.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Make My Monday - Slimline card
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes + a sentiment
Stinkin' Inkers - Long and Skinny

Thank you to all my visitors.

INTAAS - Mode of Transport

Hello again, it was time for my challenge theme and I chose 'Mode of Transport' so come along and join us at International Art and Soul.

My  card blank is, once again, a 7 x 7 by Craft UK. My chocolate brown card is by Creative Expressions and was set as the mat. I used Spellbinder dies to cut the green centre piece and the yellow 'sun', both cards by Papermill. The image is from one of Joanna Sheen CDs and I set it on the green shaped card with a row of green Mei Flower gems below it. I also used a strip of green gem ribbon which is from my stash of ribbons that I bought in America quite a few years ago. The stash is still going strong!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

INTAAS - Use stitching or beads

This theme was set by team member Tricia/Josephine over at International Art and Soul. Why not come along and join us with this fun theme?

My card blank is a 7.7. by Craft UK. The red card used for the mat is by Hobbycraft and the teal card is by Sue Wilson. I embossed the red card with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder of buttons. I added a strip of white lace, from Craft Box UK, across one corner and then fixed the image from a Joanna Sheen CD and matted on to teal card, across the left side. In the top corner I added a small diamante buckle, bought from a friend a few years ago. I filled it with teal coloured seed beads from Craft Box UK along with three of their larger teal beads.

I've added two images as the first is a photograph which isn't perfectly clear although the colours are spot on. The second is s scan and is slightly better although the colours are dark. Hmm.

I'm adding this card into the following challenges:

Allsorts - Feminine, For a Lady
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
Creative Sketchy Girls - Ribbon, Twine or Lace
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

Thank you all for visiting, I hope you have a good day.

Thank you all

INTAAS - Red, White and Blue

Come along to International Art and Soul and join in with DT member Christine's choice of challenge theme 'Red, White and Blue'.

I thought I'd be very patriotic at this time and use our national flag with two wonderful British landmarks and a guard.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK. I used a mat of dark blue card with a vertical red card strip, both by Hobbycraft. In the bottom section of the card I fixed the flag image with Tower Bridge and the Royal Naval College at Greenwich and a Horse Guard from the Household Cavalry Regiment alongside. I bought these as 'scraps' many years ago and had never used any of them.

I'll probably send this as a birthday card to my great nephew on his birthday.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
DLART - Red, White and Blue
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner - One for the Boys

INTAAS - Holiday, Home or Abroad

This card is for the challenge over at International Art and Soul which is 'Holiday - Home or Abroad' and was set by my fellow design team member Jennie.

Due to my eye problems at the minute I'm not able to colour images so I've had to resort to pre-coloured images or photographs and this one is a photograph. I took it yesterday in my back garden but I think I could have chosen a brighter day because this looks really dark and dismal. The only holiday I'm likely to get this year, again, is at home in my garden.

The blue and green cards are by Papermill and my card blank is a 7x7 by Craft K. I embossed the green card with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder. I fixed the photo on to blue card and set it as the focal point. The stamp saying 'Enjoy life's moments' was stamped in Memento ink in cocoa and set on blue card before adding to the bottom of the card under the photo. This is going to be the birthday card for my son who lives in Kent - a little view of my garden at the present time.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
AAA Birthday - Flowers

INTAAS - Pre-made Topper (Use a pre-coloured image}

This theme was set by CG, DT member at International Art and Soul, so join us in the challenge of using a Pre-made Topper (pre-coloured image).

My card blank is a scalloped 7x7 by Crafts UK. I used Papermill pale pink card as the base mat, rounded the corners with a Carl punch and then added a lilac Papermill card, cut with a Spellbinders scalloped die on top. The pre coloured topper is from a Joanna Sheen CD but I'm sorry I've forgotten which CD it's from and I have too many to go through. In actual fact this is from when my printer was running out of ink and the colour is not a true image but when I printed it off I kept the sheet because I liked it so much. I've added a Craft Box dream catcher charm to the top right and a small charm reading 'Dreaming of the Sea' to the left.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Always Anything Goes
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes

My apologies if I don't get to visit your blog. I've developed hay fever at my age and am having great problems with my eyes. I'm taking antihistamines which have helped a little but not a lot. Ugh.

INTAAS - GRADUATION

The challenge theme at International Art and Soul was set by DT member Debbie and is 'Graduation'.

I used a small 6x6 Crafts UK card blank. The base mat was bottle green card from W H Smith and on top of that I added a small sheet of Simply Cards & Papercraft checked paper. Before fixing the base mat to the actual card blank I added a strip of dark green satin ribbon across the bottom section of the mat. I've had the ribbon so long I'm not sure where I bought this one. The graduation stamp is from a sheet of Clear on Clear (?) stamps by Dimension Crafts which I've had since I first started card making maybe 25 years ago, After stamping and cutting with a small Spellbinders scalloped circle I added gold glitter, from Create and Craft, to the edge of the sentiment plaque. Have you noticed that I'm using my ribbons and glitter now? I've not used them for quite a while but I'm finding items I'd forgotten about until I reorganised my craft room - although I have to say  I hadn't forgotten my ribbons. I've got so many rolls of ribbon I could never forget them or misplace them. lol That's job done, quite a simple card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Creative Craft Cottage - Use Ribbon and/or bow
Daisy Chain - Add Ribbon
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Dragonfly Dreams - Add Some Sparkle

INTAAS - Your take on a Nursery Rhyme

I set the theme for this challenge over at International Art and Soul and I chose 'Your take on a Nursery Rhyme'.

It seemed a good idea when I chose this theme at the beginning of the year but when it came to making it well, that was a whole different story. I had so many rhymes going through my head I couldn't decide. One that was eventually forefront was Monday's Child which was a favourite one for my mother to recite. My late husband and I were both born on a Thursday so it had to be that - and then I discovered that one of my DsiL was also born on a Thursday so her card is ready for her birthday later this month. Here is the inside in case you don't know this rhyme.

My card blank s a 7x7 by Crafts UK. A sheet of postage stamp images from various countries was fixed on top of a sheet of red card from Papermill - I have no idea where I got the postage stamp paper from and if anyone knows please tell me. That was the base mat taken care of before I started colouring the little hobo. This is an image I won from Lacy Sunshine a few years ago and I love it. After colouring with my Promarkers I cut the image out with my Spellbinders circle die and set it against a Spellbinders scalloped die cut in bright orange card, again from Papermill. It was centred on the base mat and then a small sentiment stamp - which I think may have been on a freebie stamp sheet from a magazine - was stamped, coloured, cut with a small circle die and set on a turquoise scalloped circle. I love how this turned out, by using all the colours in the image on the backing card it makes it very colourful. To top it off I added some glitter to the centre of the flower in her hat and on the sentiment. I bought the glitter MANY years ago from Create and Craft.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

2 Crafty Critter Crazies - Anything Goes with a critter
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes
Crafty Animals - Anything Goes must include animal
CCC Digi Creations - Must include sparkle/shine
Digi Doodle Studios - Bring on the glitz/must use glitter and hand coloured image
Colour Crazy Craft - Anything Goes with hand coloured image
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes with the option of a girly card
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
Dragonfly Dreams- Add some sparkle

INTAAS Gift or card for male

This challenge is to make a gift or card for a man and the theme was set by DT member Jennie. Come and join us at International Art and Soul and check out the DT makes.

This time I decided to go for a gift instead of a card. I used to order lots of craft items from Craft Box and the goodies were always packed in these very strong boxes so I saved them all. Over the past few years I've given quite a few as gifts with lots of items inside suitable for the recipient. I have about ten of them left so I've decided to give them as gifts this year and then I'll have a little more space for other craft items.

I asked my sons if they would like one - a resounding no from Tim but Peter said yes. He would like one to put in his garage to keep his modelling tools in. He is quite hooked on making Star War items and various model cars, motor bikes, etc. I did ask what he wanted me to put on the lid and I'd thought Craft Tools. He decided he would prefer Model Tools. I'd written both down on a piece of paper and after painting the wrap over lid with Imagination Craft's Starlight paint in turquoise I set about digging out the wooden letters to identify what was in the box. Of course I looked at the piece of paper and thought yes, he wants Craft Tools. It wasn't until I'd finished glueing them in place that I suddenly remembered that had been my suggestion, doh!! I had painted the Hobbycraft letters in yellow before fixing and then chose items to go alongside them. I used a paintbrush, a small pair of craft scissors, a scalpel blade (in it's packet so as not to cut anyone) and then to finish it off some Craft Box Snip Art round the sides of the box. It has a metallic clasp and is quite sturdy so it will make a handy place for his modelling tools!

I'm entering the box into the following challenges:
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
Creative Crafting Uncles - Fathers Day/Masculine
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

International Art and Soul - Winged Things

This theme was set by Christine and is 'Winged Creatures' so I went for a dragonfly image which I've used for a similar challenge in the past. I'm not keen on flying creatures of any sort, in fact I'm terrified of them so I've gone for one that I rarely see now that I no longer have a garden pond. Do join us at International Art and Soul with your creations.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK. A bright yellow mat of Hobbycraft card is the base for the pretty mottled paper which is from a Cardmaking and Papercraft pad of paper. I stamped the dragonfly and the sentiment with Memento Ink in Cocoa. The dragonfly stamp and sentiment are both from Visible Image. I coloured the dragonfly with various Gelly Roll Stardust pens before tearing it out and colouring the edges with Distress Inks. I also tore out the sentiment and edged that in a similar fashion. The three gems in the corner are from Craft Box.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes + a sentiment
2 Crafty Critter Crazies - Anything Goes with a Critter - does a dragonfly qualify?

INTAAS - Shaped Card

Come along and join us in the challenge theme of 'Shaped card' - no squares or rectangles as set by DT member Christina over at International Art and Soul.

Gone are the days when I would make easel cards, stepper cards and all the other various shapes. I stick to squares usually but now and again, very rarely, I push the boat out and make an oval, lol This is one such time - sorry Christina, not very creative.

My card blank was a 7x7 by Craft UK which I cut with a Spellbinders grand oval to make this card. I used a Papermill bright pink card as the base mat and then a pretty pale pink paper with white polka dots, from Simply Cards & Papercraft, on top of that before adding the image of the elegant lady, This is from one of Joanna Sheen's CDs which is called Dancing with Shadows I used Spellbinder scalloped ovals to cut the polka dot paper and the image before adding to the mat. The black and pearl gems are from Hobbycraft and I set those at an angle across the left edge.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
A Place To Start - Pick a Shape
Country View - Silhouettes
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes

International Art and Soul - Bunny

Please join us at International Art and Soul with our theme of Bunny. I had to use Peter Rabbit because he's my favourite rabbit of all time.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Crafts UK. I made a mat of bright turquoise card which covered the whole front of the card. I stamped the images of Peter Rabbit and his friends using Joanna Sheen's stamps. My Promarkers came out for the colouring before I used Spellbinder oval and circle dies to cut them out. I then used Distress Ink round the edges. The ribbon I've had for years and I have two boxes full of rolls of ribbon so I decided I had to use some of them. Three strips were placed across the bottom half of the mat before fixing Peter Rabbit in the bottom left running towards his friends in the top right. The little Happy Birthday sentiment was on a sheet of sentiments but I have no idea where I got them, sorry. I matted it on to pale blue card to match the distressed edges of the images.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Craft Rocket - Use Dies/and/or Spring
Creative Knockout - Birthday Wishes
Stinkin' Inkers - Hop to it
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

INTAAS Natural World at Christmas

The theme for this challenge was set by Sall and is entitled 'Natural World at Christmas - NO Robins'. Please come along and join us at International Art and Soul.

My card blank is a 6x6 by Crafts UK. The base mat is paper by Costco that I bought many years ago. On top of that I mounted a beige mottled paper. The stamp in the top corner I bought at Ally Pally craft fair years ago too. I have no idea who made it as it was in a cellophane packet with no name attached - I think it may have been in a pack of three stamps as I have no idea why I would have bought this one in particular. I have used it once before so it has come in useful for the second time! lol It was stamped in Memento Ink cocoa and not coloured in at all. I had been thinking of  showing images of various animals but then decided on plants. The holly and the ivy seemed to be perfect for this challenge. The stamp is by Serendipity Stamps and after I coloured it with my Promarkers I cut it carefully round the brown frame. The ivy is a Joanna Sheen die and I coloured that with my green Promarkers.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting, I hope to see you here again soon. x

INTAAS Off to Dinner

I'm the host for this challenge of 'Off to Dinner' so please come along and join us at International Art and Soul.

I would like to think that I would go off to dinner looking like this but I'm afraid it would never happen. lol I did enjoy going out for dinner with my husband but I never felt the need to get too dressed up, apart from the fact that we didn't go anywhere too fancy!

My 7x7 scalloped card blank is by Craft UK. The lilac card is foundation card by Sue Wilson and I used a Spellbinder large scalloped square die to cut it as the base mat. I used a sheet of Joanna Sheen's lace paper, which I've had for years, and then cut it with  another Spellbinder die to make a strip across the middle of the mat. The image is by Rick St Dennis and I love it. I coloured with my Promarkers and then cut it with a large oval Spellbinder die. I touched the edges with Distress Ink . The finishing touch was to add three small pearls to each scalloped corner of the lilac mat. I think that the pearls were a freebie pack from somewhere.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Colour Crazy Craft - Anything Goes with coloured image NOT pre-coloured
As You Like it - Rubber, clear or digi and why - I prefer digis because they give a clear image and the Rick St Dennis classy ladies are all beauties!

The large heart is cut with a Joanna Sheen die and all the other hearts are cut with a Hobbycraft die set. I generated the sentiment on the computer, cut it with another of the Hobbycraft dies and set it on the larger red heart. The small hearts were set as a border along the bottom of the card.

IAAS Winter

Join us again at International Art and Soul with your project this time featuring Winter, the challenge theme set by CraftyGirl.

I love seeing icicles and so I knew that my card would show these somehow but we don't have any here at the moment, I'm pleased to say. I had to resort to Google for some images and these were on ClipArt. I printed the image and then added Diamond Stickles to the stars twinkling on them. I added more of  the Stickles to the bottom so that it looks like a great snowy mass.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK and I matted on to it a base of dark blue glitter card. I've had this so long I have no idea where I bought it, sorry. On top of this I set the icicles hanging from the top edge. I generated the sentiment on my computer and after printing and cutting it out I edged it with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. This was then set across the bottom of the card.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments- Anything Goes plus sentiment
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals - Snow Much Fun
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes

INTAAS - Landscape

Come along and join us at International Art and Soul with our first theme of the New Year, chosen by Josephine, of 'Landscape'.

I'm afraid I wasn't feeling 100% towards Christmas as I'd just had a kidney stones operation. I'm beginning to feel my age catching up with me and so I took the liberty of what I feel is cheating a little. I didn't have the energy to make a landscape of my own so I used a painting that my late husband did as a Christmas card quite a few years ago. We had been out for a drive in Northumberland and he took a photograph of this wintry scene. When we got home he liked it so much he did a water colour painting of it and used it for our Christmas card that year. The painting was framed and has been in our sitting room ever since. When I moved to this smaller home I still wanted it near me so it hangs in my living room now.  When I took the photograph of it I caught the flash on the glass so it has a bright spot and I didn't know how to get rid of it. However, I think it adds a little something to the scene.

My card blank is a 7x7 by Craft UK. The caramel coloured card is by Sue Wilson and acts as the base mat. I trimmed the photo round the beige mount and then fixed it to a peach coloured card - I'm not sure if that's also by Sue Wilson. I used a Joanna Sheen die to cut the fancy border in the peach card and added that to the bottom of the image before adding it to the base mat. A quick and easy card which I hope passes judgement.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
All Sorts - Anything Goes
Crafter's Castle - Anything Goes
Inkspirational - Something in your Home

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL, THANKS FOR VISITING. STAY SAFE AND ENJOY THE TIMES AHEAD.
