Moving Along with the Times Sketch

Here is Claire's sketch that we would like you to follow in this week's challenge at Moving Along with the Times.

She has a prize of a large X cut die of a Birdcage so come and join us please.

Here is my card:

I've used a large card blank by Joanna Sheen. This is the first time for months I've made a card and decided not to add any backing papers. I usually mat and layer like crazy. lol The red card is from Papermill and the die is a Spellbinders. Three red heart gems from Create and Craft in the top corner and the sentiment was generated on the computer. I've used some of my new ribbon that I bought at Jo-Ann's when I was in Florida at Christmas. I think it was 49 rolls of ribbon that I bought. My brain must have been telling me that I didn't have any in my craft room. Bigger LOL if you believe that!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Pile it On Challenge - Hearts and/or Flowers
That Craft Place Challenge - Love/Valentine
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Challenge - Love/Valentine's Day

Inky Chicks Challenge - Anything Goes

I have no idea what has happened here - this huge gap arrived today and I can't delete it!

Inspiration Destination Challenge 18

This week at Inspiration Destination our sponsors are My Whimsical Little World and Bugaboo.

I chose Bugaboo's image of Stella Tidbits - Message, you can buy her here, and this is my card.

The card blank is by Craft UK. I used a sheet of My Mind's Eye paper as the backing sheet and wrote the notes of Stella's day in pencil. It's supposed to be a whiteboard in her office! lol The corners of the paper were rounded with a Carl's corner punch. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and fussy cut her, leaving the paper between her and the computer. The sentiment, which also comes from Bugaboo, was cut, corners rounded, and then edged with Distress Ink. I used Marianne dies for the swirl and the leaves. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Scrap and Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Artbymiran Challenge - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

Dr. Digi's House of Stamps

I made my card using Biffo from Dr Digi's House of Stamps. Here it is:

The large square blank is by Joanna Sheen. The backing paper is from one of my new pads that I bought on my Christmas holiday in Florida. It's from My Mind's Eye. Biffo was coloured using my Promarkers and cut with a grand oval Spellbinders die. All the coloured card is by Papermill. The red, yellow and blue dies are by Spellbinders and the orange is from a Sue Wilson Italian collection die set. The sentiment is from a grungy Lili of the Valley stamp set.

Fitztown - Anything Goes with a Twist

The challenge over at Fitztown Challenge Blog is Anything Goes with a twist and the twist is - use patterned paper.. Come and join us, you know that this is your favourite theme. lol

I used the image Fae 21 and you can buy this one and lots of other lovely digis from the Fitztown Store.

My card blank, once again, is by Joanna Sheen. The orange card is all from Papermill. The glittered backing paper is from a First Edition pad called Hideaway. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then used a Sakura gelly roll pen on her face art and the butterflies, to add some glitz - I'm not sure that you can pick that up on this photo though. I used a Spellbinders label die to cut her out and then used three more Spellbinder dies to add the butterfly top left, the backing for the computer generated sentiment and the butterfly circle top right. The three other little butterflies are cut with a Martha Stewart punch. For more glitz I added some faux gems, from JJD Cards, to the circle top right.

Moving Along with the Times

This week the theme at MAWTT is Dies and/or Punches and as you can see I used dies.

I used a small 6x6 card from Craft UK and made a mat of bright yellow Papermill card and a sunflower printed sheet. This was from a CD - but sorry, I have no idea which CD, though I think it's a Joanna Sheen CD. I used one of Spellbinders curved borders as the 'bridge' across the bottom. The sentiment is one of Paperartsy's collection of stamp sentiments. I stamped it on to bright yellow card, cut it with a Spellbinders resplendent rectangle and raised it on foam pads.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Paperminutes - Flower Power
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Love to Scrap - Use something beginning with L,T,S,C, or B - bridge and stamped sentiment

Inspiration Destination Challenge 16

This week our sponsor is Rick St Dennis and I chose to work with 'Chanteuse 2'. Come over to Inspiration Destination and join our Anything Goes challenge.

Here's my card:

How it ever got finished I have no idea as I have a new puppy, Lily, and she is making it VERY hard for me to do any crafting.

The card blank is by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers adding some Stickles to her necklace, bracelet and anklet. I gave her an outline of yellow, cut the image into a rectangle and then coloured the edge with yellow again, hopefully to give the effect of stage lights (!!) I backed it on to dark turquoise pearlescent card ready to go on the card mat. I used a paler turquoise card from Papermill and embossed it with a 'bows' embossing folder (sorry, can't remember the make). That was then matted on to the dark pearlescent card. A strip of turquoise jewelled ribbon was added to the left column - they are so gorgeous they must be real (I think I got them at Jo-Ann's on my recent Florida trip). I wasn't quite sure how to finish it off, I couldn't think of a suitable sentiment so eventually decided on a star charm dangling from some Creative Expressions' baker's twine.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Well, my eyes have been so bad that I haven't been able to stay on the computer long enough to add to any challenges. I'm so sorry, will see you all next week - I hope!

Inspiration Destination Challenge 15

Our sponsor this week, for Challenge 15 at Inspiration Destination, is The Paper Shelter and I have the image Winter Blossom and I've used the matching beautiful backing paper too.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers using the gentle shades that are in the backing paper. I added some of Floracraft's Diamond Dust to the branches and hair pieces, I think you can just about see it in the photo but it does look effective . The backing paper was matted on to pale peach pearlescent paper, as was the image before being set in the top right of the card. The card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The die cut in the left border is by Memory Box and is the Flowering vine which I cut in the peach pearlescent paper before colouring with my Promarkers to get the same gentle and subtle shades.  The sentiment was generated on the computer and I took it from a little book called 'Springs of Japanese Wisdom' which I've had for probably forty five years.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
The ABC Challenge - A is for Anything Goes
Card Mania Challenge - Make it Sparkle
Crafty Hazelnuts Challenge - Anything Goes with Patterned Paper
Die Cut Divas Challenge - Must use die cut
Fan-Tastic Tuesday Challenge - Anything Goes with twist - use orange

Can I just say thank you for all your wonderful comments over the past year, for your best wishes to me for Christmas and all the very best wishes you left for the year ahead. I've been away for the Christmas period with my two sons and two DsIL. It would have been my 50th wedding anniversary in November and we decided to make a special Christmas this year. The five of us had a wonderful time in Florida and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine, though my eyes did not behave themselves. I'd like to wish you all a very happy 2015 and I hope everything goes well for all of my blogging friends.
